  • That need to make the story Darker and Edgier... That's the only thing I hate about this ending and Chrono Cross. CC and CT would be better as standalone games, really.

  • It's just Lavos' bad ending except stupid.

  • 4:47 ONO THE END OF ALL AND NOTHING! 9 dmg

  • magus trying not to laugh is priceless.

  • That's better! ;D

  • I was a little disappointed by the Dream Devourer. With lvl 70 he was no real threat and dead in no time :( I had hoped for more, at least a boss that was hard to beat even at lvl 90 or so!

  • Beat it 1st time yeeeeaaaah ;)

  • Darn Audio Lag

  • awesome battle theme for this fight

  • Since it's the Final Boss, it must be awesome. XD

  • At least the bad ending in this version is not as creepy as the one that plays in the original SNES version since the music keeps playing in background before Lavos' screech.

I have to admit that the first time I saw the bad ending for the first time on the SNES version, Lavos' screech scared the heck out of me.

  • That would be "World Revolution."

  • MIERDA magus murio ..... malditoooo lo hiciste a propocito

  • and i thought lavos looked creepy. the dream devouer looks awesome and creepy!

  • Dream Devourer was too easy for me. Frog Flare spam followed by Apocalypse Arm beating sure does quite a lot with a Level 70 party.

  • lol lavos ending is the same but with a beginning tacked on

  • STARFALL: Devastating physical attack!!!

(Hits little girl for 11 HP.) XD *lol*

  • Heh, Starfall is a joke move on this team!

  • they should have changed the game over screen for this battle. after all you are fighting DD in the timeline where he no longer exists, am i right? so the future did change the day of lavos never happened.

  • i dont get it how a the dream devourer looks more impressing in a portable console that uses SNES graphics than in PSone as time devourer. TD looked as if he wasnt feeding well ¬¬

  • You're dead! The world's still going to hell. Get over it! Game over. :p

  • Even the ending for beating this is depressing!

  • Wouldn't this ending lead to events in Chrono Cross? I mean, the Masamune was taken away and influenced by evil, wasn't it?

  • Yeah. I think part of the reason for the new content was to resolve some unanswered questions.

  • And for those confused between how Trigger and Cross were related.

  • I know I hate those people who think that. I mean there are so many connections. Just cause the characters don't interact with each other doesn't mean anything.

  • Im sry i just dont like the battle controls as much as the classic battle controls

  • This guy was too easy you guys!! i had prism specs...dragon helm i think?? (the one that gives you a damage boost) and had dragon arm or something on robo and he was bustin out 4000K along with another 4000K with crono and about 3500 with ayla's triple kick....they should of made this boss a lot harder....considering what you had to go through in order to fight him hahah

    ~ChA0s

  • what the heck did Lavos do

  • what??? Heavenly Peal is what Lavos Core used on me the frist time i fought him! Man it still did that cheap 900some

  • Yah that was Crying Heavens..basically same overpowered shit lol. Incinerate, Magic Barrier, Starfall, Dreambind all are Schala influenced attacks I believe. I don't believe Schala is shadow based, only Magus. Either way Lavos & Schala are a combination here so doesn't really matter, the DD will use it all.

  • wtf? it has same ending as lavos and who ever said dd took over the future by coming out of a volcano live lavos

  • The battle takes places BEFORE the battle with Lavos.

If Crono is killed by DD, he will not be able to travel to 1999 to kill Lavos.

  • Other Magus said it was the future AFTER that battle.

  • ah, but if Crono is killed by DD, and the original Day of Lavos is allowed to happen, then there would be no DD to kill Crono because Lavos would have won without Schala, and he'd be sitting pretty on Death Peak in 2300. So Crono is still alive to fight it for the future all over again, but maybe this time he'll use the bucket to go to 1999 and beat Lavos, allowing Cross to happen. TIME PARADOX!

See how Cross over complicated the story?

  • some serious talk ,but I think in CC there are two worlds in one Day of Lavos didn't happen ,and in another one is some quantum shit because of Serge existence and "Day of Lavos" can occurt.

  • This is really an ALTERNATIVE version of the Day of Lavos. Or, rather, it's an event that happens following the original, because the Dream Devourer is the same Lavos that Crono and crew defeated originally.

And Cross would happen regardless, because even if you defeat the DD, you're still defeated (Crono really dies in the fall of Guardia), you just get to see the alternate Magus' ending.

Of course, this doesn't really excuse Cross' confusing as hell storyline, but what can you do?

  • Well, thats the thing, Cross doesn't really explain what happened to Crono and Marle. The only people that are for sure dead are Lucca and Robo, and Robo's not even Robo cause he's a computer chip that Lucca made based off Robo. This Magus is now apparently Guile, who has no story whatsoever in CC. You only see Crono and Marle as kids, which I never got, they could have been stuck in some other time while all this happened, which is how Porre beat Guardia, how else could they have won?

  • Thats why they need to make Chrono Trigger II, with maybe Crono, Marle, maybe a few old faces, maybe a few new ones, trying to set things right. Like have them stuck in 615 ad with Glenn cause the Epoch broke and they have to find another way back. They overleap 1005 ad and end up in the alt future where Belthasar helps them with alt Epoch and they have to zig zag all over time to prevent Porre from- you know what, I'm just making more of a mess by trying to fit CC into the story. Thanks Cross!

  • Well, at the very least, we know that Crono and Marle take over as rulers of Guardia. And it's hinted at in CTDS that Dalton (of all people) helped Porre conquer Guardia. Though, this doesn't excuse his absence in CC nor the fact that he actually managed to overwhelm Crono and Marle (both powerful magic users in their own right).

Cross just had too many things going on that the writers just didn't really know how to wrap everything up. I've tried reading up on all of it, and it makes no sense.

  • I forgot to mention that Porre got a hold of the Masamune, which I think was what led to their victory. But, yeah, it's really hard to make a case for Chrono Cross' story; I liked parts of it, but the as a whole, I thought it was really weak and only managed to confuse things further by throwing all sorts of crap at the player and ultimately never sorting it out. Which is a shame, really, because it had a lot of potential; then again, Chrono Trigger is a hard act to follow.

  • You're over-examining things. CC and CT are just merely sequels. If you don't beat CT, then it wouldn't make sense to play CC afterwards! Sheesh, the nerve of some ppl. Obviously Cross is an alternate timestream where some... stuff occurs that has little or no impact on the FIRST game.

  • However, because of what happened in CT, the events of CC are carried out

  • the only rpg without electric overkill is pokemon and that is very boring and has fishy plots

  • No contest? I had trouble with him even WITH 3 people. As for the Chaos Zone, it can still be troublesome because Dream Devourer has the status protection remover. I remember when he did that to Chrono in my party. It messed things up big time.

  • It didn't do anything to the game at all. it made it a bit more unique, it couldn't POSSIBLY make it the worst possible gaming experience ever, you're really overstepping that.

And off the record, there's an option for people who want to turn the auto run off, because players would just run through the game any way.

Unless you like playing a game at slug speed, that's all you

  • You can easily customize your controls. I have no idea why you would want to turn off auto-run, but it's very easy to do.

CTDS offers a variety of options, making for the best control scheme this game ever had.

  • Hey, if you don't want your copy, hand it over to me.

  • I never really realized how difficult this boss was.

The first time I fought him was with Chrono Magus and Frog. It was no contest. Lavos was much harder to solo imo. & then I realized that people were having trouble with this boss because of chaos zone.

Magus still had Schala's amulet with him, and Chrono and Frog had crowns (they prevent status change) so chaos zone had no effect.

I didnt even realize how annoying that would be. I thought it was just some pussy-ass attack. lol

  • They couldn't have bothered to change the game over screen from Lavos' could they?

  • I know, WTF?! They could have at least showed some other apocalyptic ending! After all, Magus (not your Magus, the other one that jumps through the gate) DID say you were in the future where you defeated Lavos and prevented the future from becoming the Day of Lavos. The gate must have been in a different dimension though, and that STILL doesn't really explain how Serge from CC ruined everything by making the future the Day of Lavos again. (maybe I missed something in CC)

  • No, I think you're right -- the "Serge is Satan" plot element in CC went completely undeveloped but still hinted at.

  • No shit, they went as far as to call him "The Assassin of Time"

  • Heavenly Peal is fucking insane, how come lightning spells in almost every RPG are usually overkill? Both players and NPC wise.

  • Jez damn new Lavos chain casts stupid Chaotic Zone, that's what really screwed you.

  • DEVASTATING PHYSICAL ATTACK

    actual damage: 16

  • Must be twinked to all hell, I saw that do 290ish damage on the other person that has this video up on Crono.

  • just use melee attacks.. and megaelixirs... and don't use MP recovery things,and.. use counter equip xD .. :D i beat the dream whateva at the first time O.O x3 .. pretty easy.. :/ ...:3 .. but still good... D: hm.. why are you healing all the time? .. xD .. and for me is good that ending :3 .. just change a little bit xD but it's like kirby super star ultra end xD.. just changed a little bit the main final boss...

sry for my crappy english u_u

  • do u still fight the last boss from the snes?

  • He wanted to show us the good new ending, but he was not able to win -_-

  • I just put this up so I didn't waste the footage; check here for the "good" new ending!

    watch?v=tvqM4V96_XE

  • Wouldn't exactly call that good. :p

  • I love how the changed "But the future refused to changed" to "In the end the future refused to change.

  • I would have had Crono use confuse. Hits like 3 times and did about 2100 damage whenever I fought lavas in the old version. Not sure it would do the same for this lavas though....

  • If you wanted to show this bad ending, why the hell didn't you just let it kill you straight on instead of healing all the time >.>

  • I was going for the ending in which the party survives, but...the party didn't. :)

  • I see, you didn't put it in the description so I thought you originally planned to show the bad ending.

  • I really thought of something new lol, oh well. The new ending is awesome, but pretty sad at the same time. And how did you do to receive 10 damage with Starfall? I received less damage with other attacks, but Starfall did like 200-300 damage aprox., depending on the target

  • i only like ending 1 beyond time cause its so emotional touching and happy ending. where crono,s friends will say goodbye to his time. the ost fits this ending right for me to get teary eyed.

  • That's a crappy ending. They should have one done something new you know?

  • Why did they change Magus's casting spell sound effect? That was the coolest thing effect. ;_;

  • woa that sucks!! I loved how it sounds on the snes "rrr shi shi shi tkrrk " hahaha

  • 1:52

    Starfall: Devastating Physical attack!!!!!!

    11 damage o_O

  • lol

  • I was sort of hoping that they would of made new music for the new Final Boss... maybe a 16-bit version of "Dragon God". Ahh well, it is still great music anyway ^_^

    Thanks for uploading!

  • I actually thought this new Final boss is going to be something completely different. Way to be innovative, Squrea Enix. Even if you "win" this fight, the outcome's just as depressing anyway...

  • Noooooo!!!!!!!

  • dang.
