so many people tune in to see dresses and stuff like that. the night is about the academy. the entire academy, from the most experienced producer down to the PA and assistant grip. the averag joe does not respect the academy. they just want to see who's hugged up with whom and what they have on. they could care less about the advancement of the art and science of filmmaking, which is such a shame, cause like you said, so many people go into making 90 minutes of good cinema.
