@BRUTUALTRUTH No that's no true. What in fact she wrote was he invited her to his hotel room and she left realising that he wanted something more. He then supposedly, according to her, spread some rumours she was a spinster. Unkind, if true, but hardly as grave as you made out.

I hate to spoil it but Niven did make up his stories. A marvellous storyteller though. Some of his friends like Roger Moore said that he started to believe them himself in later life.

I watched Niven in a movie at a museum called King Queen Knave from 1972. Very twisted movie. the lady who played Niven;s wife was gorgeous
