mh i don't think that it'll work with a pick. you have to use your fingers!

You can play the the middle section with a pick. It won't sound the same. Looking at Darkraven90's tab you just play those chords with an upstroke of the pick. Start out slow and then speed up. Not traditional but still fun to play.

If you'd like to know, Santaolalla plays a Charango, which is an andean instrument used in many south american countries. if you ever get one, make sure it has a wooden back, the armadillo shell-backed ones don't sound right.

Just start with an easy song that uses all 4 fingers (f.e. 'Spanish romance'), from time to time you will get better and faster :

That makes you foolish if you think he's playing a CD. All you have to do is watch to tell it's not a CD. He's really playing and doing a great job of it. Why is that so hard for you to believe? Because this guy is able to play in a similar fashion does not diminish the talent of Santaollala, who is not a god. It's not sacrilage that someone wants to learn a sound and technique that is similar to his. I think this kid is great. Hopefully we'll all be hearing his music prolificly some time soon.

by variate i ment that you should not play close to the tabs and that it's recommended to jam and improvise bit.

5h7 stands for a hammer-on from 5 to 7 fred (if you don't know what this is, google it!)
