This makes me realize that the sequence at the beginning of Karn Evil 9 1st Impression Part 2 is actually just two (possibly three notes), but the phasing effect makes it sound like more as it ping-pongs.
@crispiegee1 it's just the ONE note actually... an Ab... with a 'Sample & Hold' module controlling filter cut-off. Nothing too difficult to set up... only in KE's hands it becomes something special....!!!!!
@bmdu69: I know someone who can build you one. but you're gonna have to shell out some serious bucks! I'm not kidding. he's modding my Mini Moog right now. And he's got a big Moog modular at his house, also. He specializes in Moogs.

Seems like a lot of money and patching to make blip bop blip sounds with filter sweeps. I could never understand the attraction to modular synths. Maybe because I never played one.
I don't understand people who use sequencers; They take forever to program and it's easier (I think) to use a CV keyboard.
If you don't mind being limited to only one note at a time (unless you're clever) a modular is attractive b/c it offers sound possibilities that a synth with a hard-wired signal path can't, and modern modulars are far more portable than 40-year-old Moogs. Some people also think analog synthesis is better than digital for various reasons, musical or philosophical.
Well if people only use sequencers for their main melody without doing anything else, thats one thing. But when you have 5 sequencers and using them as data arrays, its like having a whole bands worth of stage hands programming all kinds of things on your synth.
Yes! You dont have to set it up so that you can play your song step by step one after another; You can compose a whole song by adding parts on the recording!
system 35 like mine ....

oh please tell me you multi-track this with your MiniMoog, you have enough juice there for an analogorgasm to take place..
