@Wilsbaags Lento-osasto Kuhlmey, soittaako kelloja?

@xganger2 Well, I beg to differ about that. Sweden abandoned Finland, from there came only 8000 volunteers and most of them we're Finns who had moved to Sweden.
@kaahaajaFIN The world exept for Nazi Germany abandond Finland. Your country was thank fully spared by Stalin. Remember that The western allies the uk and us wouldn´t mind if the Soviets took it over. They would simply just let Finland be taken over just like they let poland, estonia, livonia and numerous others. So you should blame them for not doing any thing and not Sweden.
@ohnoshedidntw8 The war against Finland was a catastrophe for Stalin. And Sweden PROMISED to come help Finland if Finland would get in to war, but what happened? only some volunteers came, coward swedish government played ping pong instead and watched Finland struggle alone against the grasp of USSR. Remember the saying Swedes said then and says nowadays '' Finlands cause is ours'' well maybe ww2 was an exception...
@kaahaajaFIN Remember that 5 years after the winter war the Soviets attacked again, twice as amny finnish soldiers died in the summer offensive of 1944 than that of the winter war, and it forced the finns to sue for peace. Stalin needed his troops in poland at the time and so he let Finland go. Helping the finns would make Sweden a member of the axis and would have been sold to the Soviets along with the finns, You should blame the western allies instead of the swedes.
@ohnoshedidntw8 I am very grateful to the Allies. They we're the ones who offered serious military aid and war against USSR when it attacked Finland! They we're the first! But see what happened? Swedes rejected their plea to use their Airspace to transport Allied troops to Finland! Finns knew that their honorable but desperate struggle wouldnt last for long, they knew that it would've taken ALOT more time for the allies come and it would've been too late when they we're estimated to come.
@ohnoshedidntw8 Finns would've been part of the Allies from that day but Swedes destroyed that dream! It was Swedes and ONLY Swedes fault in many ways that Finns were left all alone against maybe the greatest military might of that time!
But then later came Germany which saved Finland. One of the major reasons Hitler decided to attack USSR was when he saw the ''great'' red army failing at defeating the little Finland! Finland was estimated to be conquered at 2 weeks...
@kaahaajaFIN Yeah, thats because at the time nazi germany and the Soviets signed the molotov-ribbentrop treaty and were practicly allies. france and the uk were thinking at the time of lending troops, but the nazi occupation of norway made this imposible. and it forced finland to help the nazis, I have gr8 respect that the finns didn´t deport any jews to the the nazis. but you should blame the US("the home of the brave and the free") for not helping you out
@ohnoshedidntw8 At the time Finland asked for help of the Allied forces Norway wasn't occupied. So it was all up to Sweden.First: Sweden had promised before to come help Finland if Finland would've gotten in to war (''Finlands cause is ours''), what happened? They took back their promise. Second: When Allied forces decided to come help Finland, they asked permission from Sweden to use their airspace to transport troops. What happened? Sweden rejected the help from the Allied forces!
@ohnoshedidntw8 And from all that, that I have told you now, I and many other can make a conclusion what Swedes of that time was: Spineless cowards and liers!
It may sound a bit harsh, but unfortunately, that is the truth. Swedes abandoned Finland, even though they promised to come. And to make sure Finland would be alone, they blocked Finland from getting aid from Allies. Using Finland just as a Defensive shield to protect Sweden, by sacrifising Finns to the Soviet war machine.
@kaahaajaFIN That plan to send allied troop to Finland wasn´t very bright. I mean that would make british and french troops enemies of the Sovietunion and nazi Gemany. As history will tell you France would later fall so that would make the uk alone against them. It would have been really diffrent if that plan would have been put into affect. Besides, I doubt Norway would never let in british troops on their soil before the nazis invaded it.
@ohnoshedidntw8 It may not have been a very wise decision, but thats what happened. Permission was asked from Norway and answer was positive, it was all up to sweden to decide. I dont really know where are you going with this? Your not answering my accusations anymore. Fact is a fact and lies wont change it.
@kaahaajaFIN My point was that Sweden wasn´t able to do anything wise at the time but to stay out of it, cuz they nor Finland didn´t pose a menace to the great powers.
@ohnoshedidntw8 Sweden wasn't threatened at that time. If Sweden would've let Allied troops fly to Finland, it wouldnt have threatened Swedens neutrality in any way.
@kaahaajaFIN Well Sweden was threaten the british let the germans in the anglo-german naval agreement rebuild the navy to 1/3 of the royal navys size, which made them the dominant power in the baltic. And letting french and british soldiers through Sweden would definetly be a provokation in the eyes of the Soviets. A neutral power must not let in troops of a warring country in times of war. sadly Sweden did let in german troops during the occupation of norway.
@ohnoshedidntw8 But shouldn't Sweden feel safe if it is protected by Allied forces?
I dont think Germans would think Sweden as a threat if it would've let Allied forces to fight against soviets. So the only possible threat for Sweden was USSR and it would've been a small act of aggression if Sweden would've let Allied forces fly over. Considering what Sweden had promised before, and Swedes knew that if Finland would fall, Sweden would be occupied. Finland was neutral too but see what happened..
@kaahaajaFIN Finland used to belong to the Russian Empire, and the karelian Ismus is really close to Leningrad which is the 2 biggest city in Russia, so Finland was an obius target for Stalin. And the nazis captured Norway quite easily despite of British and French troops so Sweden would probalbly not last, but the truth is we will never know what was going to happend if Sweden let the forces through to Finland.
@ohnoshedidntw8 Allied forces were succesfull in Norway. Germans we're preparing to leave Norway but then an idiotic command came from Allied forces which said that they should leave Norway and focus elsewhere. (cant remember where). So Norway wasnt a problem for Allied forces. Ofc Finland was obvious target because they invaded baltic countries too. And the Sweden would've been the next target after Finland because Sweden-Finland and Russia had been sworn enemys for thousands of years.
@kaahaajaFIN I don´t know, the Luftwaffe were stronger then the RAF and the french airforce at the time so they would eventually force the allies out of norway, I do admitt that the allies made really bad blunders which cost them some of their campaignes
@kaahaajaFIN Last but nit least, Swedens populace donated millions to Finland, after the war the state gave a hole years BNP to Finland. This whit war supplies and weapons delivers along whit numberous ways of suppor. Makes it kinda cheep to blame Finlands missfortune on Sweden. Finland were a neutral state, independent and alliance free, neutrality was stated by the hole of scandinavia at the start of the war, no help was promised. Yet you got it, be greatfull insteed.
@tyskbulle sending finland financial assistance AFTER the war ended just shows what cowards the swedes were at the time (not that theyd have been any different in fighting russia while finland was under sweden). The help they actually sent during the war wasn't even something they sent but it was mainly a bunch of swedes who found it a disgrace how sweden was ignoring the finnish pleas for help and volunteered, not that theyd have made a difference either.
@Wienerschnitzelchen The hole north was neutral, if Sweden were attacked by Germany for exampel, none of the nordic countries woud come to aid. The only time Sweden broke its neutrality by UN regulations in 200 years was during the winter war.
@Wienerschnitzelchen go take a look at the Wikipedia -article "Flygflottilj 19", it was officially a volunteer unit of Finnish Air Force, but de facto expeditionary force of Swedish Air Force; the equipment, the supplies and the personnel all had "Flygvapnet" (the Swedish Air Force, if you did not know) written all over them, prior the war the personnel were all part of Flygvapnet, after the war they continued with Flygvapnet as if nothing happened
also, the name "Flygflottilj 19" was not given by Finnish armed forces, nor the Swedish volunteers, but the Swedish Air Force, the official documents of Flygvapnet show that Swedish armed forces considered Flygflottilj 19 being an official unit of Flygvapnet, and in same documents it is shown that Swedish government considers Winter war the first conflict in which Flygvapnet took part in, "Flygflottilj 19" that served in Finland employed roughly 1/3 of all planes in the Flygvapnet.
in other words, Sweden took a huge risk by deploying 1/3 of their air force to defend Finnish Lapland, they (Flygvapnet, the Swedish Air Force) also provided the personnel to use and maintain the equipment, all the equipment that was still left after the war was returned to Sweden, should anyone had taken a closer look at the Flygflottilj 19 the game of Swedish government would had been exposed and Sweden might had ended up with an open war with Soviet Union.
@kaahaajaFIN In the 1920s, Sweden took the lead in arms reductions in a political attempt to cool down a future potential arms race. The scandinavian countries followed including estonia, livonia and lithuania. At the time of the crysis, Sweden didnt even have the manpower to stop a german army crop, even less chance to defend itself against allied transgressions in the north and a german invasion from the south. Basicly, Sweden were in no position to make demands or put itself against hitler.
@kaahaajaFIN 40% of Germanys iron import came from Sweden. If Sweden were at war whit any of the three factions, the Iron mines woud have been bommed, crippling german arms productions by almost the same procentage. This woud have dire effect against any war effort, including the war against the Soviet Union. If you were a enemy to the Soviets, ask yourself again if you wished Sweden at war.
@kaahaajaFIN Only the french wished to aid Finland, open war against soviet was never a part of any allied strategy, thuss no alliance. The britts only saw the winter war as a oppertuneity to occupy the swedish iron mines and harbours in the north but coudnt find the justification needed to do so. Both Norway and Sweden said no to open thier borders and rightly so as it woud break the UN laws of neutrality. Hitler threaten Sweden that open borders woud provoce hostilites between the two nations.
@marcusHabs - my Finnish translator would imply that you were not pleased with my comment and thought I had slighted the great man. Far from it! Again I take my hat of to this gentleman!
@KamaDubz Miten ihmeessä fasismi liittyy tähän mieheen tai hänen elämäänsä? Jätä edes pössyttely vähemmälle jos nyt pakko on tämän päivän "fasismia" vastaan "taistella".

Mut katsokaapas presidentti Urho Kekkosen hautajaiset tuolta arkistosta. Niissä soi ihan kahteen kertaan tää Narvan Marssi. Tosin toisella kerralla hautausmaalla soittokunta lopettaa marssin hieman ennen kun marssi oikeastaan loppuu..en tiedä miksi

@kaahaajaFIN Yes the two bravest countries in the world (=
xganger2 1 year ago
@xganger2 Well, I beg to differ about that. Sweden abandoned Finland, from there came only 8000 volunteers and most of them we're Finns who had moved to Sweden.
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN Dont blame us for something those damn russians did
xganger2 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN The world exept for Nazi Germany abandond Finland. Your country was thank fully spared by Stalin. Remember that The western allies the uk and us wouldn´t mind if the Soviets took it over. They would simply just let Finland be taken over just like they let poland, estonia, livonia and numerous others. So you should blame them for not doing any thing and not Sweden.
ohnoshedidntw8 1 year ago
@ohnoshedidntw8 The war against Finland was a catastrophe for Stalin. And Sweden PROMISED to come help Finland if Finland would get in to war, but what happened? only some volunteers came, coward swedish government played ping pong instead and watched Finland struggle alone against the grasp of USSR. Remember the saying Swedes said then and says nowadays '' Finlands cause is ours'' well maybe ww2 was an exception...
I wouldnt count on swedes promises...
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN Remember that 5 years after the winter war the Soviets attacked again, twice as amny finnish soldiers died in the summer offensive of 1944 than that of the winter war, and it forced the finns to sue for peace. Stalin needed his troops in poland at the time and so he let Finland go. Helping the finns would make Sweden a member of the axis and would have been sold to the Soviets along with the finns, You should blame the western allies instead of the swedes.
ohnoshedidntw8 1 year ago
@ohnoshedidntw8 I am very grateful to the Allies. They we're the ones who offered serious military aid and war against USSR when it attacked Finland! They we're the first! But see what happened? Swedes rejected their plea to use their Airspace to transport Allied troops to Finland! Finns knew that their honorable but desperate struggle wouldnt last for long, they knew that it would've taken ALOT more time for the allies come and it would've been too late when they we're estimated to come.
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago
@ohnoshedidntw8 Finns would've been part of the Allies from that day but Swedes destroyed that dream! It was Swedes and ONLY Swedes fault in many ways that Finns were left all alone against maybe the greatest military might of that time!
But then later came Germany which saved Finland. One of the major reasons Hitler decided to attack USSR was when he saw the ''great'' red army failing at defeating the little Finland! Finland was estimated to be conquered at 2 weeks...
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN Yeah, thats because at the time nazi germany and the Soviets signed the molotov-ribbentrop treaty and were practicly allies. france and the uk were thinking at the time of lending troops, but the nazi occupation of norway made this imposible. and it forced finland to help the nazis, I have gr8 respect that the finns didn´t deport any jews to the the nazis. but you should blame the US("the home of the brave and the free") for not helping you out
ohnoshedidntw8 1 year ago
@ohnoshedidntw8 At the time Finland asked for help of the Allied forces Norway wasn't occupied. So it was all up to Sweden.First: Sweden had promised before to come help Finland if Finland would've gotten in to war (''Finlands cause is ours''), what happened? They took back their promise. Second: When Allied forces decided to come help Finland, they asked permission from Sweden to use their airspace to transport troops. What happened? Sweden rejected the help from the Allied forces!
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago
@ohnoshedidntw8 And from all that, that I have told you now, I and many other can make a conclusion what Swedes of that time was: Spineless cowards and liers!
It may sound a bit harsh, but unfortunately, that is the truth. Swedes abandoned Finland, even though they promised to come. And to make sure Finland would be alone, they blocked Finland from getting aid from Allies. Using Finland just as a Defensive shield to protect Sweden, by sacrifising Finns to the Soviet war machine.
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN That plan to send allied troop to Finland wasn´t very bright. I mean that would make british and french troops enemies of the Sovietunion and nazi Gemany. As history will tell you France would later fall so that would make the uk alone against them. It would have been really diffrent if that plan would have been put into affect. Besides, I doubt Norway would never let in british troops on their soil before the nazis invaded it.
ohnoshedidntw8 1 year ago
@ohnoshedidntw8 It may not have been a very wise decision, but thats what happened. Permission was asked from Norway and answer was positive, it was all up to sweden to decide. I dont really know where are you going with this? Your not answering my accusations anymore. Fact is a fact and lies wont change it.
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN My point was that Sweden wasn´t able to do anything wise at the time but to stay out of it, cuz they nor Finland didn´t pose a menace to the great powers.
ohnoshedidntw8 1 year ago
@ohnoshedidntw8 Sweden wasn't threatened at that time. If Sweden would've let Allied troops fly to Finland, it wouldnt have threatened Swedens neutrality in any way.
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN Well Sweden was threaten the british let the germans in the anglo-german naval agreement rebuild the navy to 1/3 of the royal navys size, which made them the dominant power in the baltic. And letting french and british soldiers through Sweden would definetly be a provokation in the eyes of the Soviets. A neutral power must not let in troops of a warring country in times of war. sadly Sweden did let in german troops during the occupation of norway.
ohnoshedidntw8 1 year ago
@ohnoshedidntw8 But shouldn't Sweden feel safe if it is protected by Allied forces?
I dont think Germans would think Sweden as a threat if it would've let Allied forces to fight against soviets. So the only possible threat for Sweden was USSR and it would've been a small act of aggression if Sweden would've let Allied forces fly over. Considering what Sweden had promised before, and Swedes knew that if Finland would fall, Sweden would be occupied. Finland was neutral too but see what happened..
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN Finland used to belong to the Russian Empire, and the karelian Ismus is really close to Leningrad which is the 2 biggest city in Russia, so Finland was an obius target for Stalin. And the nazis captured Norway quite easily despite of British and French troops so Sweden would probalbly not last, but the truth is we will never know what was going to happend if Sweden let the forces through to Finland.
ohnoshedidntw8 1 year ago
@ohnoshedidntw8 Allied forces were succesfull in Norway. Germans we're preparing to leave Norway but then an idiotic command came from Allied forces which said that they should leave Norway and focus elsewhere. (cant remember where). So Norway wasnt a problem for Allied forces. Ofc Finland was obvious target because they invaded baltic countries too. And the Sweden would've been the next target after Finland because Sweden-Finland and Russia had been sworn enemys for thousands of years.
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN I don´t know, the Luftwaffe were stronger then the RAF and the french airforce at the time so they would eventually force the allies out of norway, I do admitt that the allies made really bad blunders which cost them some of their campaignes
ohnoshedidntw8 1 year ago
@ohnoshedidntw8 Yeah they may have, they may have. Only God knows...
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago

ohnoshedidntw8 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN Last but nit least, Swedens populace donated millions to Finland, after the war the state gave a hole years BNP to Finland. This whit war supplies and weapons delivers along whit numberous ways of suppor. Makes it kinda cheep to blame Finlands missfortune on Sweden. Finland were a neutral state, independent and alliance free, neutrality was stated by the hole of scandinavia at the start of the war, no help was promised. Yet you got it, be greatfull insteed.
tyskbulle 1 year ago
@tyskbulle sending finland financial assistance AFTER the war ended just shows what cowards the swedes were at the time (not that theyd have been any different in fighting russia while finland was under sweden). The help they actually sent during the war wasn't even something they sent but it was mainly a bunch of swedes who found it a disgrace how sweden was ignoring the finnish pleas for help and volunteered, not that theyd have made a difference either.
Wienerschnitzelchen 1 year ago
@Wienerschnitzelchen The hole north was neutral, if Sweden were attacked by Germany for exampel, none of the nordic countries woud come to aid. The only time Sweden broke its neutrality by UN regulations in 200 years was during the winter war.
tyskbulle 1 year ago
@tyskbulle Finland would've come to defend sweden. Just because Swedes left Finland alone, doesn't mean that finns would've done so also...
kaahaajaFIN 1 year ago
@Wienerschnitzelchen go take a look at the Wikipedia -article "Flygflottilj 19", it was officially a volunteer unit of Finnish Air Force, but de facto expeditionary force of Swedish Air Force; the equipment, the supplies and the personnel all had "Flygvapnet" (the Swedish Air Force, if you did not know) written all over them, prior the war the personnel were all part of Flygvapnet, after the war they continued with Flygvapnet as if nothing happened
dimapez 1 year ago
also, the name "Flygflottilj 19" was not given by Finnish armed forces, nor the Swedish volunteers, but the Swedish Air Force, the official documents of Flygvapnet show that Swedish armed forces considered Flygflottilj 19 being an official unit of Flygvapnet, and in same documents it is shown that Swedish government considers Winter war the first conflict in which Flygvapnet took part in, "Flygflottilj 19" that served in Finland employed roughly 1/3 of all planes in the Flygvapnet.
dimapez 1 year ago
in other words, Sweden took a huge risk by deploying 1/3 of their air force to defend Finnish Lapland, they (Flygvapnet, the Swedish Air Force) also provided the personnel to use and maintain the equipment, all the equipment that was still left after the war was returned to Sweden, should anyone had taken a closer look at the Flygflottilj 19 the game of Swedish government would had been exposed and Sweden might had ended up with an open war with Soviet Union.
dimapez 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN In the 1920s, Sweden took the lead in arms reductions in a political attempt to cool down a future potential arms race. The scandinavian countries followed including estonia, livonia and lithuania. At the time of the crysis, Sweden didnt even have the manpower to stop a german army crop, even less chance to defend itself against allied transgressions in the north and a german invasion from the south. Basicly, Sweden were in no position to make demands or put itself against hitler.
tyskbulle 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN 40% of Germanys iron import came from Sweden. If Sweden were at war whit any of the three factions, the Iron mines woud have been bommed, crippling german arms productions by almost the same procentage. This woud have dire effect against any war effort, including the war against the Soviet Union. If you were a enemy to the Soviets, ask yourself again if you wished Sweden at war.
tyskbulle 1 year ago
@kaahaajaFIN Only the french wished to aid Finland, open war against soviet was never a part of any allied strategy, thuss no alliance. The britts only saw the winter war as a oppertuneity to occupy the swedish iron mines and harbours in the north but coudnt find the justification needed to do so. Both Norway and Sweden said no to open thier borders and rightly so as it woud break the UN laws of neutrality. Hitler threaten Sweden that open borders woud provoce hostilites between the two nations.

it was originally a regular, but a slow march in Swedish army, but it was turned in to a funeral song after king Charles XII died. It is always played in finnish military funerals.

Both, first it was a song devoted the famous Narva battle, but it has always been used as a funeral march in Finnish Army.
