  • How adorable! does it take much to take care of one?

  • @tasha159212 It depends what you mean by "much". Personally I'd say they're quite low maintainence, but as with any animal the more time and effort you put into them, the more you'll get out of keeping them.

  • thanks mate

  • what colour were your hob and jill?

  • @MrLutzy46 A silver jill and a sandy hob

  • @oldblueeye have you bred albino and polecat(sable) colours?

  • @MrLutzy46 Yes I have, it produced a mixture of albino, sandy and polecat coloured ferrets everytime.

  • @oldblueeye sweet thanks mate do you have too have a black eyed white too get that colour

  • @MrLutzy46 Sorry mate which colour are you talking about ?

  • @oldblueeye like can you get black eyed white kits from polecat and albino

  • @MrLutzy46 I've never bred any black eyed white kits at all so i can't answer that

  • ok

  • have you kept any of the kits in your video.

  • @picken2001 Yes the silver hob that I touch with my finger 10 seconds into the video and the smallest light jill with a sandy tail that's always at the back of the shot in the video

  • I meant a 4ft hutch:)

  • @picken2001 Yes I understood what you meant.

  • Thanks Ive ordered a 4th hutch, buy I will buy or make a run to use for more exercise ,do you recon that's okay?

  • @picken2001 That should be perfect for them.

  • Is there any advice you could give me?please

  • @picken2001 Advice about setting up a cage ?. Firstly make sure you get the biggest you can afford and preferably have one that's got more than one level to it. Although that's not essential, ferrets are very curious animals and will going up and down the different levels especially if put some form of tubes in there in there that they can run through and regularly change the toys, balls etc that you put in to prevent boredom

  • @oldblueeye Also make sure that the cage is not positioned in direct sunlight in summer, ferrets suffer very quickly from heat stroke. If using bowls of water instead of bottles for them to drink check regularly that the y haven't tipped them over.

  • Thanks alot mate, you should do a video on how to set a cage up

  • I'm from the uk I'm getting a male 7 week old albino ferret in 2 weeks what do you use for bedding

  • @picken2001 Hi there, through the warmer months I just bed them on wood shavings or a thin layer of shredded paper, but through the winter I use a thick layer of shredded paper. The reason I use shredded paper instead of of straw/hay is that these can sometimes have ticks in them. Good luck with your albino hob.

  • Do ferrets need any needles or vacinations?

  • @picken2001 Hi there, i'm not sure where you're from but here in the UK they don't need any vaccinations.

  • Its Look so happy :D

  • Thanks!! :D

  • That's adorable! I'm getting a ferret next weekend! Building the cage now! I think they said the ones at the pet store are 3-4 months old:3

  • @hazelbug0304 Good luck with it, i hope you have many happy hours with your new ferret.

  • @oldblueeye How long is the gestation as mine is something like 2 days overdue but doesn't appear ill or anything? any help would be appreciated. thanks

  • @Airgunhunter2010 40-44 days but I have had a jill be four days late once. If she goes over a week I'd see the vet.

  • OMG! U MUST FEEL GREAT those ferrets are so cute!

  • how often do you lose a ferret at birth, i know a lot of times with dogs and cats to lose a baby at birth isnt very uncommon. is it the same with the ferrets?

  • This is so stinkin cute!!

  • @moomoobindi Thank you.

  • when i move out and im out of college im just gonna be like " fuck it im gonna raise some ferret babies!!! then breed them when there old enough!! hehe! but thats gonna be awhile considering my only in 5th grade haha!

  • @freeagentsgirl619 you shouldnt be swearing if ur in 5th grade

  • @shaileemc I dont give a shit

  • Sooo adorable. I wish I could find a good breeder in London. Ive been googling like mad, but any in the UK seem to be in the North of England. Know of any in London?

  • @shazzqsong They're won't be any young available yet as the females only come into season once a year in the spring. But in a couple of months time try contacting the national ferret welfare society

  • @oldblueeye Hey thanks 4 the info. The closest I could find so far was in edgware and he says he'll let me know when theyre born. Done all my research and got all the stuff. Now to wait until June : )

  • @shazzqsong No Problem, it's a shame you're not closer to me.

  • I keep revisiting your video because your ferrets are sooooo cute!

  • Beautiful chubby, healthy babies! And bravo on feeding a raw diet. I see my favorite variation in there, the adorable champagne one that wrestles with your fingers at 1:52 and 2:40. I have 2 champagne boys myself, one is a year old and I just brought home his new 6-week-old little brother yesterday. Champagnes are not that common in the U.S. for some reason, even from Marshall Farms. I had to special order my new little boy. Just makes them that much more special I guess. :) <3 Ferrets <3

  • @thecrazypinkcatlady Thankyou for your comments. In the UK they're more commonly referred to as "sandies" and are actually quite common over here. The most popular or sought over colour seems to be the silver coloured ones at present.

  • ummm what are they eating? um i hope its not what i think it is

  • @jessica19971997 It's a rabbit.

  • is there two albinos in that business?

  • @charonbond Yes there was two albinos and 1 black eyed white.

  • bless them there gorgeous :)

  • @richard91933 Thank you

  • again, your reaction says enough.. i pity the animals, like normal people..

If you could bring up the effort to read 5 minutes, you would not psot such retarded, american reaction

  • @enfielddnepr American ???I'm nowhere near America. I'll not waste any more time replying to you now as you clearly haven't got a clue about how to rear and care for a litter of baby ferrets.

  • Ignorant? please do some little research how to keep ferrets, or ask a VET.

the way you react says enough about you.

Go grab a burger on your way to the VET...

  • @enfielddnepr Research, how dare you ????, I've kept and bred healthy happy ferrets all my life. What the hell is wrong with bedding them on shavings and shredded paper. I suggest it's you that needs to do the research

  • in saw-dust.. please take better care of your ferrets, it's not that difficult..

  • @enfielddnepr You ignorant person, they are bedded on shavings and shredded paper asit's the summer and quite warm. why comment on things you nothing about you fool

  • this is the cutest thing i've ever seen. love ferrets :)

  • your ferrets are so cute i would like to find out about ferret hunting and how to cear for ferret babies as i have some and some on the way.

  • @lawrance84 There's quite a few good books available and loads of info on line. When are you ferret kits due ?

  • i'm geting a ferret. but i don't know what 2 name him =) soo i was thinking maybe u could help me name him

  • nice few silvers in there mate

  • @ferretertom Cheers Mate, the two silvers in the litter were both hibs and I've kept them both back. The darkest of them worked well last season but I didn't get out enough with tteh other to do it justice...this winter will bve different though.

  • @oldblueeye ive bought my self a silver hob now goona work him ths winter

  • @ferretertom Good luck with him i hope he works well for you. Please let me know how he does.

  • @oldblueeye will do mate

  • my jilly has just had kits, shes an albino and the hob is poley. do you think il get variying colours as the hobs dad was a dew?

  • @tokeylover Yes you could get a mix of colours. How old are the kits now ?

  • @oldblueeye theyre a week old today

  • very cute kits! what colours are the parents?

  • @tokeylover The mother was a silver coloured ferret and the father a sandy colour.

  • My lord they are cute, to bad ferrets are such a hassle to breed. Oh well I guess I'll just have to settle for watching cute videos.

  • now I'm concerned. when we got a ferret kit they said she was 8 weeks but I've seen ferrets on youtube that were 8 weeks and Sable looked way younger than them. comparing what I've seen Sable looked 5-6 weeks old and she was already spayed! could the breeder that sold them to the store lied about her age?

  • I'm shocked that were spayed at such an early age, I don't know ANY vets near me that would do that at that age. It is possible they lied about her age, I would have been able to tell you for definateif I's seen her at the time.

  • @oldblueeye sadly it's the norm in the US to spay them so young. :(

  • @oldblueeye I thought you could only get them spayed/neutered at something like 6 weeks/months? (tbh, I can't remember which)

I got my ferrets at 5 weeks old, they looked just like this, but a tad bigger. :)

  • thanks :)

  • how old will they be when they are ready to go to new homes. is it the same as pups 8 weeks ?

  • Yes between 7 to 10 weeks dependant on how sefl sufficient the kits have become

  • They are too cute!! I bet a bundle of laughs too when they all play at the same time....

  • Yh 10 survived lost one at 3 or 4 weeks thanks

  • Nice i take it ther his years? mine had 11 kits.

  • Yes they're this years. I hope you're 11 we're all ok...that's a good sized litter

  • omg im so jelous
