GREAT interview, don't be so self-depricating, alot of musicians I talk to mention Angel as a big influence and a hugely under-rated band, I know that's how I feel! Greg M.-Nashville
VERY COOL! I saw Angel here in PA on the White Hot tour, my first Angel record. Subsequently, I purchased all of their albums and still listen to them. The mix/recording and Felix's bass sound on White Hot, in my opinion, is just incredible. Thanks for posting this and Rock On, Felix!
This guy and all dudes in ''Angel'' got so many girls back then..When girls saw Angel, they loved them instantly..It was a trip..Oh Quiet riot got lot of girls too.. Its all about the girls you know? ha!
Great info...I first saw Angel at the Tower Theater here in Pa Whit Hot was the album and was instantly a HUGE fan of the music. Barry's Drumming influenced my playing to this day...and other drummers sill mention it to this day.
Angel almost came a little to early for that time...had MTV been around no doubt they would have been even bigger than they were.
PS even though Frank and Barry carry on the name that ain't no Angel but a bar band.
BTW your bass work on 'Got Love If You Want It' is kilr
Yeah! It's still great to see and hear Frank & Barry. I agree with you about the band being a "bar" band deal..nowhere near the same of what the band was in the ol' days. I was blessed enough to had seen them both with Mickie Jones & Felix too! Always excellent musicians & awesome people! I'm thankful for these videos. Thank you!
Korruptor420--They 'magically appeared' from trapdoors in the stage. I saw this show in '76 and was completely blown away. Roadies would stack 5 sets of cubes on the stage (above the trapdoors) and leave them there. Once the lights went down and the intro started, they 'magically appeared' from the stacked cubes as the Angel Face said their names. Amazing show. Feelin' Right, Mirrors and Pressure Point are my favorite songs. I was very sad they went away from that feel.
I grew up listening to ANGEL, and I saw them In 1978, 79,and 1980 !!! I loved their LIVE shows,as they were so fucking awesome !!! It's really COOL to see Felix, and here what he's got to say these days !!! Thanks for posting this Interview !!! Still would like to know how they "MAGICALLY APPEARED" In those boxes on stage during their Intro !!!
Great seeing Felix and listening to an articulate and honest performer and composer tell his story. I grew up w/ ANGEL listening and watching them on tour for those brief years. What a band, thank you for posting this. Felix looks like he's doing well.
great to see this! Felix was one of the reasons I started playing bass as a kid. White Hot is still one of my favorite albums of all time. Great to see you Felix.
Felix!! How awesome to hear him tell the story. I wonder if he still has that white Stingray that he used to play. I bought my 77 MM stingray about the same time he started playing his, its worth a couple bucks now.

Love your bass line on "White Lightning" off the live album. Angel was the greatest band and you were part of it, Felix.

Great clip, this fills in a lot of what I didn't know about Felix's background pre-Angel. Really down to earth guy it would seem. thanks for posting!
