@SupernalOne and maybe omit Joe Walsh and Nils Lofgren and add The Bats and The Chills and The Go-Betweens and The Feelies, and Innocence Mission and Oh....The Church. Oh and a about 100 other artists more worthy than the two you mentioned. lol Seriously man...Joe Walsh?? Ugh.
I'll check out the artists you mentioned, to see what I'm missing -- but the Church? I found them kinda flat, passionless -- but no accounting for taste :)
Walsh has done some nice sweet heartfelt soft rock songs in his various solo albums, I rather like a lot of his stuff - not necessarily The Bomber or Life's Been Good so much -- but obviously you and I are from different eras, and not seeing it the same way -- no offense, it's a free country more or less
The Church "flat and passionless"?? haha You're my hero man. :-) You're definitely correct about taste. I'm less than 10 years younger than you by the way. Grew up with the Beatles and the Stones and a million other sixties and 70's bands to start off with.

Grew up with the Beatles and the Stones and a million other sixties and 70's bands to start off with. I actually like some of Joe Walsh's early stuff as well. He would just never some to mind to me as a musical icon, but thank God we're all different and don't all like the Church or Nils Lofgren. :)
Sure, Walsh is a minor character in the world of rock, he's just so quintessentially midwestern, singing songs about indian summer etc -- I was thinking of a room in the rock gods museum containing homegrowns, local boys made good - but leaving out springsteen, his intensity gets annoying :)
Actually, I do like funk, new wave, fusion, prog, alt, acid rock, & various eclectic artists - but today I'll check out your suggestions, always glad to be turned on to new music - thx!
Saw two shows in Chicago in 91 at the Lounge Ax and was blown away -- the energy was unmatched...the songs are fantastic and Kim Longacre was easy on the eyes. How can I get tickets for the reunion show?
The words "honesty" and "joy" were just way too small for this band. The flame of life burned so strong in this band they almost deserved a whole new category. Viva la Reivers!
Hearing this brought tears to my eyes, reminding me how much I loved this band and the pure honesty and joy they displayed in their music, and how I tired to create that same feeling in my music. Thank you for reminding me of the why I always will love this band. I miss them and miss hearing music of this caliber.
hey was there ever a video for ft.worth star telegram? man I loved that album! wish you guys were still doing it here in Austin! thanks for the songs! !
Just love them.

the Smithsonian should have a Museum of American Music, containing sections on Joe Walsh, Nils Lofgren, and the Reivers (and dozens more)

Adoro o jeito simples e despojado que essa dupla faz na banda! Um som que transcende ao
tempo! Magníficos!
