I own both Forza 4 and GT5. I've owned every iteration of both simulators on all platforms starting with GT1 on PS1. GT has held the marker for a long time on the simulation side, but happily Forza has taken on the community side and made FM4 the primer console multi-player game. GT5 however still has GT Academy going for it so I shall not set either down for a long time! I hope the battle turns into DLC battles!

@fighting17chicago Is Forza 4 worth buying if physics are the main concern? I quite like the physics in GT5 but the gameplay is a bit of a grind.

@ComicPenius I believe physics are on par with GT 3 (my favorite feel for sim on console) but it is much more rewarding gameplay as you level up and are rewarded for so many things. I.E. if you race one manufacture auto and get to level 5 affinity (about 10 good races) you get all parts upgrades for free for that manufacture on any auto you purchase. There is bonus money and xp everywhere you turn. It is built for taking away the "Grind" feeling as everything unlocks fast!

I hate Forza. Not because I'm more of a GT5 guy (hell I've tried F4 and I love it), but those guys at Turn 10/Microsoft won't release it for the PC.

Same for GT5. Greedy bastards.

May be if there is no fan-boyism then the developers won't push so hard to get new content out. As far as GT5's Spec 2.0 is concerned, Kaz San himself confessed it was the fans who pushed them to get it out and it is because of these fans that they'll keep pushing their games to get better and better. As much as I love PD, I have to admit, that FM4 has an edge over GT5, atleast as far as the quality of content is concerned. All GT now has, is it's immaculate physics engine! (y)

can't blame anybody for enjoying one more than the other. like you guys said, forza 4 and gt5 both have their benefits. I prefer gt5 but partly that's because it's so farmiliar. GT fans just feel really comfortable with GT games. IMO as well gt5 has the better physics, graphics, feeling of achiement and user friendliness (gotta love custom soundtracks). Fm4 obviously has better sounds, customization, damage, and a great car list (plus their all the same). sim racers may prefer gt5 but fm4=great

Just cleared GT5 A-Spec, and was fooling around a bit buying some cars when the game freezes (I'm talking 15 minutes of loading with no result), so I reset my PS3 and my save was gone. The funny thing is the first thing I thought of was having to do the Top Gear VW Type 2 race again :P

I think the reason why fanboys battle is because Turn 10 were the ones trash talking PD for a number of years which is what caused alot of the unrest. PD never says a bad thing about anyone and actually makes positive remarks to other racing titles. THAT is the defining factor.

The only thing I hate about Forza4 or the Forza series, is that they aren't available on the PC or PS3.

I would love to mod my cars more which GT5 doesn't really allow.

....but I made my Console choice.

Exclusive titles, if successful, will boost the sales of consoles. Since the publisher is Microsoft and the game series was created to rival Gran Turismo and Playstation we're likely not going to see it released on any other platform.

Pirating may just be an excuse to exclude PCs. Consoles provide a homogeneous and stable platform to release games for. You hear games advertised as pushing the boundaries of a console but on a PC that would be (almost) a silly thing to claim.
