  • Goddamn SPLOICERS

  • I really love children's fantasy movies from the 80s like this and The Neverending Story 1&2. I think it's something to do with the sets and the minimal CGI which means that there are lots of costumes and animatronics. They just have a certain atmosphere that I really like.

  • meanest guys ever.

  • GREATEST EVIL LAUGH OF ALL TIME!!!

  • ****THIS IS NOT A FUCKING SEQUEL**** Walter murch directed this film along with Walt Disney...Yes, DISNEY! It has nothing to do with the 1939 musical version starring 16 year old Judy garland. (WICH IS SO SUGAR COATED IT COULD CAUSE DIABETES!) This story is based of the original books invented & written by L. Frank Baum in the 1900's. Dorothy is no older than 9. & The land of Oz isn't a place of dancing midegts, rainbows & Lollipop gangs. Its a place of mystery, dark adventure & black magic.

  • @RockMegaBarbie thank you so much!

  • @Kowalski88 Welcome. It just pisses me off when people bash or talk shit about something they know nothing about. If everyone did some "Oz" research they would have more respect for this film. Which in my eyes is a classic 80's fantasy, & one of the best Oz related films out there!

  • @RockMegaBarbie soooo hardcoooore

  • @RockMegaBarbie Then why does she have ruby slippers?

  • @RockMegaBarbie Your comment is incredibly misguided. If it weren't a sequel, why would it make a direct reference to things that happened in the original film? She talks about returning to Oz, the Munchkins, the Wicked Witch, her house which landed in Oz, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, Tinman and shit loads more. I'd understand if you were saying it's not a sequel to the Wizard of Oz, but rather a different version of it, but it isn't. It's definitely a sequel to that film.

  • @thingeeee Your wrong. It makes rerefrences to the novel not the movie. The only thing that the musical and this film have in common is that the magic slippers are ruby red. When in the novel they were in fact silver with pointed toes. In the novel there are also muchkins, wicked witches and so forth. Its NOT at all a sequel. It is the story of Dorothy when she returns to Oz. This movie is based off the books. The marvelous land of Oz and Ozma of Oz. It says so at the end credits.

  • @RockMegaBarbie So why at the end of Return To Oz is it all happy and lovely like in the first film? Midgets and all..

  • @thingeeee Cuz Its in the book. In the original story dorothy didnt wake up in her bed when she clicked her heels. She woke up in the feild of her kansas farm.

  • @RockMegaBarbie And also, at the end of the film it is a place with midgets and happy stuff because the whole film is about what happened to Oz after she left the first time. It's only a place of mystery, dark adventure and black magic because of the premise/plot of the film. So yeah, no idea what you're on about or how your comment got to be the top rated comment!?

  • @thingeeee Lol And my comment is top rated cuz any Oz fan Knows this version is closer to what Baum invisioned. There are 14 total sequels L. Frank Baum wrote to the wonderful wizard of Oz. Like I said this film is based off two of them. And if it was a sequel it would have been made to look like the 1939 film with Judy Garland. And most likely would've also been a sing along. But it's not. Obviously you can totally tell they didnt want this version to be anything like it. DUH

  • @thingeeee Walter murch even said in a interveiw he wanted this film to be the anti Judy garland musical. Giving Oz a more realistic point of view. And pay homage to Baum. The only reason he used the Ruby shoes instead of the silver ones is cuz it's tradition. And too many kids were familair with the musical version. And wouldnt understand why they were a silver if they didnt ever read the original novel. DO YOUR RESEARCH before typing ignorant things to people. Thanks

  • Shit,no wonder my older sister was scared when she went to see this!

  • And if they did catch her, how would they take her??? Iam sorry but wheels for hands and feet I seem them failing at the point where they go to take her haha

  • @Rongowhakaata Maybe the wheels function like giant pizza cutters, they slice her up into pieces and each grabs a chunk with his teeth, heh...

  • i went to a haunted house a couple of years ago, and out of nowhere one of these guys popped up and chased me around on his god damn wheels, doing the laugh. i swear to god i turned into a track star, i was running so fast and screaming my head off haha

  • this shit scared the fuck out of me as a kid ten years ago. i still talk about how much this movie creeped me out.

  • this shit is fucked to the up!

  • Scary!!

  • Why is Dorothy so freakin little in this one. Isn't it a sequel?

  • @chabadoogi That's the age she was in the book, the classic movie adaptation aged her up. :)

  • @chabadoogi This version is more faithful to the Original books first created by L. Frank Baum, written in the 1900's. Wich are much more darker & somewhat full of black magic. Unlike the sugary 1939 musical, Baum wrote the real Dorothy to be a small child no older than 9 or 10 . Judy Garland was 16 & too old when she played Dorothy. She only got the part cuz she had a nice singing voice. Shirley Temple who was 10 at the time was supposed to be cast as Dorothy but didnt have the voical talent

  • the wheelers are the devil.

  • i remember every time i watched this movie, this part always scared the shit out of me

  • When I was little I saw this movie and it scared the hell out of me

  • Isn't that a CHICKEN in there with yoooou! Classic.

  • that's some messed up shit! I can't believe that this movie was made for kids.

  • Good god my childhood was spared of this. But at 23 I'm still not mentally prepared.

  • @SomaVlog

No one is ever mentally prepared...this video is the reason Cthulhu fled under the oceans, hoping one day for this movie to be forgotten and he can safely return. How this was ever PG is beyond us all...
