  • Great!!Japanese says 素晴らしい!!

  • anybody else notice boon swap guitars at the beginning? I think his first one was out of tune...

  • Yes! The Physical Presence live album pictures taken from this place!!! :-))))))))))))))

  • I've said it before, but can u believe how lucky that kid on bass is?! Personal lessons from Mark King!

  • reminds me so many happy moments when I saw them for the first time back in Nov.83 I believe. Saw all the concerts between 83 and the early 90's but indeed, they kind of lost it when the Gould Bros left. Not so convinced with Retroglide I must admit, too much singing, too less jamming like in the early 80's, Mike doesn't sing either (lead vocal). Great band any way.

  • The Gould brothers were not there physically, playing instruments, but they were still writing the lyrics so their creative input hadn't left the band. I think their 1994 FOREVER NOW album stands up as a good album, which had lyrical and drumming input fron Phil Gould. It had moved on from the 80s jazzfunk, but was still good in it's own '90s kinda way.

  • Phil, thanks for posting these, brings back memories. Part 1 with L42 as a Holiday Camp Band is soooo cool! How many of todays "stars" would do that?

  • Brilliant group, brilliant song..thanks for the clip

  • i Have to say thanks a mill for these vids i am a massive level fan but missid this era. When they were at there best imo. Thanks again

  • Yeah - I followed them on tour in 1984 (the ¨True Colours¨ tour) and had been a monster fan for a few years before that. I felt they lost their way a bit as they got more pop but you can't blame them - that's when they had the most success. They do seem to be making waves again now though.

  • yes retroglide is a really good cd i would have gone to see em in cardiff but last time the sound was terrible not much point if the bass is getting lost you know

  • Yeah, I saw their Retroglide tour in Southend in 2006, and I'm going back there in October to see them again. I'm only 28, but I remember their 'pop' period of 85 to 89, and I love it, but you can't beat the raw britfunk stuff of the early 80s. "Love games" is a personal favourite, and it so perfectly depicts that soul/funk/disco period. I wish I was born 10 years earlier sometimes, so I could have experienced that amazing soulful music !!
