When you said about the balancing-on-the-ledge animation ripping off sonic, not sure if sonic was the first to do that but it was a tradition for me and my brothers, whenever we got a new game we'd watch the rolling demo at the title screen, see what the character's "waiting" animation is, and stand on the edge to see if they had an animation for that. Lots of games did :)
i could never play through the second level of this game cause of those stupid pianos coming down the hill at you. it sound sas though they're alive and they're making these horrible groaning noises. nightmare fuel. almost as bad for me as the Mad Piano

I remember this game, my brother had a girl friend who liked it, and she always wanted a bubsy shirt, but then she moved to colorado, and the other two games sucked. The end.
I think me and my sister managed to work together to finish this game, or at least get to the final boss, not sure if we ever beat it. It was a long time ago lol

I was organizing all my NES and SNES games last night and ran across this one. I was thinking I remembered it being a crappy game, and I'm glad I watched this video rather than actually playing it.
I got the Japanese version of this game. And the difference is that bubsy speaks Japanese and it's in Japanese text. I wanted to play the version for along time!
2:10 that was probably a wool gas matron, it gives you between 1000 and 7777 points. That was mentioned in the instruction book and I still remember it somehow :P
What ruins this game is the one hit death thing, it would be really fun i think otherwise, but the fact that you can run so fast and enemies pop up so fast makes it way to difficult
Bubsy fucking rules.I have finished in many many times.It was weird that when I got to a certain amount of lives, I started to die all the time.It was like a curse lol.I would get to the lives which was something like 23 then I would die to say 18 lives, get back to 23 then die to say 17 and it would happen over and over again.

Nice Play through .....this game was one of my Favorites back than. Nowadays Games producers are bringing back the old classics to the modern systems.this one deserve a Remake.

This game is fun for the variety, athough yes, there are too many cheap deaths. About the Yarn balls, if you get 500 of them, you get an extra life, and the orbs you don't know what they do give you 50 yarn balls. Also, those strange yellow creatures are called Woolies. Otherwise, good insight.

I remember back in the day when this game first came out, it was so amazing that the screen flipped when you go through the twists on the log ride thing. the hardest part about this game is fighting the temptation to pick up speed and fly as far and fast as you can. even when i was at my boiling point on the last stages, i'd still laugh when i'd get killed..especially when he gets hit and rolls down a hill. have you seen the ending? prepare to be underwhelmed.
I loved this game when I was a kid. :D My brother kicked ass at the game, I remembered beating it the first time. I was like "yeah! in your face!!" Now I'm better at it than my sister, but still...the later levels are still just "what?!?!?"

the hardest part about this game is fighting the temptation to pick up speed and fly as far and fast as you can. even when i was at my boiling point on the last stages, i'd still laugh when i'd get killed..especially when he gets hit and rolls down a hill. have you seen the ending? prepare to be underwhelmed.

I loved this game when I was a kid. :D My brother kicked ass at the game, I remembered beating it the first time. I was like "yeah! in your face!!" Now I'm better at it than my sister, but still...the later levels are still just "what?!?!?"
But yeah. You have a nice voice. haha Apparently there was a cartoon of Bubsy and a 3D version for the PS I heard. Weird right?!

I dunno if I'd say this is a Sonic ripoff, but it definitely is another 90's platformer mascot game. Most of these games died off, but they still (barely) live on in the form of kids' movie tie-in games.

Huh, this game really highlights how the SNES had poorer animation (but better colors) compared to the Genny.

I just remember the fucking controller going off the wall and having to but another.... was playing when I had a few too many lagers and my girlfriend at the time (not now, thank god!) was shouting for me to "kill the funny looking rabbit thing!!!" over and over.

When I get my Genesis in working order again, I am going to be playing this. It was my favorite game as a kid. (Haha, I know!) The little comic book instruction booklet that came with it was pretty nifty, also. Thank you for making this LP!

Those things are called Woolies. They are aliens that have come to Earth to steal all the yarn, for whatever reason. I remember the instruction book, I think there's an image of it online somewhere...
