Red is having this affect because it's conditioned into our minds that red represents love & sexiness (due to red hearts and such). Try this test in a country where red doesn't represent such and see if the results are the same.

This is just like my brother & me having the exact same motorcycles but different colors. His is red, and mine is blue. He likes to say his is "faster" because it's red....I say he gets more speeding tickets because it's red. Red vehicles are associated with speed.
