sucha argument, if we dont want it we dont, if we wanted abortion in ireland then it would be here, propaganding?? what percisely? our opinion on something we dont think is right?? pro choicers are always telling us there opinion so why cant we?? do you have an intellegint view or do you just leave insluts like this one??
That's great that you don't believe in abortion, but why force this belief on everyone else ?
As for the europhobia - that's just stupid. Let's see how well Ireland does without the EU. Don't forget to give the currency back before the borders are closed. Europe won't wait around for a few hundred thousand Irish nay-sayers to change their mind.
so stagnation is the way forward for Europe ? some think that the EU needs to move forward, and for this, Ireland needs to understand that it represents less than 1% of the European population. France is 14 times larger, Germany 18 times. the smaller countries are already overrepresented per capita (as they probably should be) but let's be realistic. let's all remember how the EU helped turn around the Irish economy in the 80's. what is there to be scared of ?
All of us? why? we saved europe, you leave! Not france, YOU, specifically you! I've been counting comments conradulating ireland and reprimanding ireland on voting no this morning and so far the ratio is 1312:5 glad we voted no!
Also, not counted is a few hundred non-EU commenters saying congrats and one jamaican saying we are dumb.
BTW, didn't france vote no in 2005 then get that desicion changed for no apparent reason?
How's your english, you know democracy is démocratie right?
I find it appalling that a human life which is clearly life is thought of as nothing and less than that of an animal. Babies lives have recently taken a back seat to trees...Is this world crazy or is it just me
The treaty gives the EU court jurisdiction in areas covered by the Charter. This includes the right to life. If they spuriously interpret that abortion is one of those rights they will be balancing a 'fundamental right' with a regional protocol.
If they as the EU's supreme court decide that a 'fundamental right' cannot be denied, or that legislation for the X case must be imposed won't they have the jurisdiction.
There should be mandatory abortions for pro-lifers. we don't want stupid people propogating.

why would we be without europe? we just decided not to change. Were we asked to join the EU or were we already in it?
If we were already in it and we decided not to change, how are we out?

well theres much more in there than just expansion. for example:
* Too much uniformity for completely different countries
* Signing away our neutrality
* 4 countries will be needed to block an amendment
* Our consitution works fine
* Too much power to be gained by a small group if the pillars are lost
* We'd like the rest of europe to vote as well before its put in place
p.s. ireland + germany + poland + czech republic + finland (all unratified) together make a high percentage of the EU

it would just be easier if you left europe. go join the americans, I'm sure they'll share their economic recession and pigheadedness with you.

This issue shows that the panel is skewed.
