Saw Maura in Bethlehem PA at Godfrey Daniels about 25 years ago with Jerry Douglas and Russ Barrenburg. On one song the guys gave her a note and she sang accapella for the first part of the song and when the instruments came in she was still perfectly in pitch. Not a small accomplishment!
Guess what - my wish came true, I saw Maura & John & Don perform this song last week at Celtic Connections! I was exhilarated. If my video is any good I'll upload it. so happy to have finally seen her live, it was superb.
Has anyone got a video of Maura singing " The Isle of Malachy" I think it is from her album called "Just in Time" but I'm not certain about that. Any links would be greatly appreciated.
She performed this song several years ago in Kentucky, along with a whole set of great semi-traditional Irish songs, a stunning set of performances. But it was well over 90 degrees out, and Maura while being a beautiful lady is not a tiny girl, and the heat must have been horrendous for her...but she never showed it, and performed for over an hour and a half with great spirit and zeal. She is stunning to listen to, she puts her heart in her songs and belts them out every time!

John Mock on guitar and Don Johnson on bass. I added this info to the video's description, thanks for asking, and thanks for your comment.
