  • I, this..this is just Beautiful.

  • this is fantastic

  • That guy in the background, behind Nick looks quite peeved.

He needs to be thank full to even be there watching Death Cab!

    >:/

  • maybe my daughters Knees were in this on lower left.. she ate cheese burgars with them i philly back then. I asked her my God did you have them sign an autograph on the cheeseburgar wrappers.. she failed to do that.. Loving the boot leg.. have a few of my own but diff band. they look so young here..My daughter does not want to be seen on the web.. but i bet she is there if it is philly this was taken from. I adore this group and i am older than the hills. Ill be watching for more bootlegs from U

  • I keep looking for my daughter in this vid as she knew them in philly when they were a garage band like this.. brings the CD forbidden love down to me. My old man and I love it. Go to the CD store. here in Fl. they thought we were nuts and morbid with the name of band. Then i make cassette tapes of this and send them around to my friends snail mail. . Then people in fl start to order CD. then they come down to Fl. then they hit the rolling stone mag and the rest is history. saw them live long ago

  • ha i love the guy in the corner behind the stage chatting up the girl and totally ignoring the awesome song!

  • This is my first time hearing this song and i am a fan and not because my last name is huckaby lol but Hey i love the song.

  • It's Michael Schorr as Nathan good left two songs into recording we have the facts in 2000, If you listen to the work on the photo album especially styrofoam plates he's just as good as jason and jesus Nick Harmer is one of the key figures in death cab and always has been, no different bassist.

  • So good

  • wow they were just youngsters back then...

i just dont know if thats the same drummer..

    it prolly is..

  • no its not the same drummer. The new drummer is Jason Mcgerr.

  • It's the same drummer as on Forbidden Love and The Photo Album. It's their 2nd drummer i believe.

  • this is amazing i miss hearing this in the sets at least i get to see it live a few times.

  • One of my favorite songs by them. The drums in this song hit me real hard ^-^

  • I know, they're awesome. The guitar part is cool too.

  • great song great song they sure know how to make music

  • is he a different baterist that the one from nowadays???

  • Nope, same BASSIST.

  • yes! new drummer!

  • i'd have to say transatlanticism is the best. regardless, this song is amazing.

  • ahhh iv been going fucking nuts trying to find the tabs for this song if anyone has PLEASE LET ME NO and i love dcfc the photo album is defiantly their best.

  • This song isn't that hard to learn by ear. It only took me about 10 minutes to figure it out all the way through.

The part where it gets loud are basically only Power chords... if they aren't, power chords work fine.

  • I love their older stuff, especially this song, definitely one of my favorites.

I saw them the other night in Boston and they played a bunch of stuff from their new album, which I didn't know too well.

This is Death Cab at their best. This and the entire album, Transatlanticism.

  • older stuff definately the better suff.

california was the original name for this song. i wudda stuck with that.

either way, easily top 3 favorites. its up there with debate exposes doubt!

  • brilliant .

  • Je m'appelle Kelly.

  • Best song on forbidden love next to 405 acoustic. My favourite band. You guys pwn

  • this is also available on "You Can Play These Songs With Chords" i can't seem to find it anywhere on the internet but i do like the Chords one better. this one does seem to resemble Chords more than Forbidden Love however.

  • ive already commented but fuck i love this song.

i dont know much about this band, so i dont know their story or anything but this song is so great!

reminds me of San Francisco uh.

do they still play it live ? i live in paris so i wont probably ever see them but oh well. just askin..

  • awesome video. does anyone have the guitar tab for this song? i'm so desperate looking for it. if someone has it, please send me. thanks :)

  • dude i know how to play this song if you want to know just aske me whenever you want :)

  • also Ben Gibbard is a god.

  • amazing band, amazing music, drumming in this one is phenomenal! the drummer's skill really shines in this for me.

  • thank you so much, this is great, lovin' it! Beautiful song.

  • I love this song very much. Thanks for posting!

  • fuck this song is my favorite of them and probably my fav of all time... i mean wow. thx a lot for that vid.

  • ColdHeartP, i was wondering where this was in philadelphia, you know?

  • the rotunda in south philly...near locust st.

  • Gah and I love their origional drummer so creative and so much power

  • So awesome!! I get chills listening to this song. this is classic DCFC. The songs from the album Transatlanticism. I wonder if they would still play this live as well. If so, that soooooooo awesome. I would almost cry. haha. If they did that would show theyre still true to themselves, the music, and theyre true fans. They have gotten somewhat mainstream, but I think and hope they are themselves at heart.

  • actually its from the forbidden love ep. not Transatlanticism.

  • Do they ever play this live anymore? I love this song

  • This was really good, too bad his mic wasn't up more. Great song

  • Keep posting these up, man...these are well rare! Some of my favourite DCFC songs.

  • p.s. Ben Gibbard is incredibly skinny in this.

  • Yeah, I wish I'd seen them back then.

  • goddamn... this is all I ever wanted to see. I started listening to them after I mised them on this tour, saw their name listed. "dude some band named death cab for cutie played the Warfield last night" and downloaded this song. i was hooked! don't care too much for what they're up to now.
