  • no bad track

  • Id like to see a new electribe with the ER1s synth drum section, the EMX1s synth section and the ESX1s sampler section :)

  • This is an incredible display of what the er1 is capable on its own. Awesome stuff.

  • this is tight bro

    cheers

  • Thanks for posting this, created using the Yamaha TX81Z - a cool FM synth. The producer Babyface at one point had two TX81Z units in his studio, both of which he kept set to a bass patch, one detuned from the other. This became a part of his signature sound. The best synth patches for this classic synth can be found at manymidi.com

  • TECHNO

  • I was wondering if anyone knows what could be wrong with my ER1 MK2. I let it sit for a year and went to use it last week. When I go to use the sequencer and try to toggle the 1-16 buttons more than one will light up. (ie: if I hit 1 then 1,3,4 light up. If I hit 6 then 6,7,8,and 9 will light up.) Tried resetting to defaults. Took apart and saw no popped caps or burnt boards. Everything else works fine just that. Any Ideas anyone?

  • hey! fuckin nice acid beats :D

  • SUPER MAN!

  • Very nice work making the sounds your own.

  • So happy. Just won one of these on eBay.

  • and I always thought the music would come from the sky directly onto my turntable... ;o)

  • are electribes analog?...

    just wandering

  • no.. although sometimes in the ads they claim to be haha. they are all definitely digital based. the X electribes have analogue tube amps, but the sound generation is still digital.

  • HOLY @$%&!!

  • genius :D

  • nice work.

  • good work. electribes are good machines. ill add some new sounds on here eventually. keep it up. -shujincell

  • skillz!

  • have er-1 analog claps ? or these claps are digital sampling pre-saved? CAn do hardcore-techno kicks? thanks

  • The claps are PCM, but you can tweak them a bit and get some different sounds :P

To get the tunes you want, you could get Korg EMX or ESX...

    Or Roland's MC-303 or 505 :)

  • That's cool ! Nice track !

  • Yah, try that on Fruity Loops :D without any controller or monodeck :D

    Very good job!

  • @rustynest its possible when you know to use the 3osc in fl

  • howdy does the ER-1 let you put on midi track via pc?

becasue i want to use it as a live drum machine and wondered if it could play a drum only backing track live?

  • really nice... thanks for posting

  • Can you put on a micro, a kaospad, or on other instrument in an ER-1 to record real sounds while the drums part continues, and, is it possible to create bass parts on the ER-1, or sounds with different notes, pitches?

  • I need advice, do you guys think it's a good investment to have as a primary piece in my minimal studio?

  • @ReapearingDoubleChin yes, it rocks.

  • big fun :^D

  • Do we still need the TR 909 or 808?

    :)

  • nothing kicks that hard than a 909 ;)

  • is this all done on the ER-1!?:O hmm, maybe i'm gonna buy one...

  • Yeah dude. They are balls to the walls fun to use and since they are not that popular, they are dirt fucking cheap.

  • Yep! That's true... Some people seem to have trouble with the synth drums... they're fun to use on their own, or if you want, layer it with some PCM Drum Machine/Rompler or a Sampler ;)

use the audio ins too and you have some insane sounds coming from it :)

  • Fun yo. keep up the funk

  • wicked! didnt realise these things were so much fun!

  • I think the cross-mod on the ER-1MKII is cool, but I liked the Ring Mod on the original better myself.

  • Any Idea how that Ring Mod works? I have an ER-1 I mean I can tell what it does I just dont get it's function.

  • Ring modulation is a multiplication of frequencies. Just assign two parts to ringmod and when they play together, that's when the modulation happens. It takes some guesswork to get the sound shaping to work for you, mostly for esoteric noises. For traditional sounds, it can make some slamming kicks and good snares.

  • Impressive! These little boxes look like much more fun then Acid Pro!

  • congrat man ... fantastic

  • WICKED!!!!

  • love the sound, nice work 5*

  • Wow that kicked ass!

  • OH man and that bit with the clapas at abnout 7:4 is RADDD AS FUCK!

  • i love the computer burbles at 4:10

  • And what becomes of them... <3

  • i love that kick

  • I liked this video but it would be easier to see what you were doing if it had been shot from the players perspective. Nice though.

  • thats sick!

  • Sick session I will definatly be listening...Jak

  • ER-1 is fucking great! Just like Roland's TR series. ;) I love this step sequencer. ...

  • Do everything, but please do NOT compare :)

  • Joey Beltram's "Basketball" on Tresor. DOH!

But this track here is more interesting.

  • Woohoo. Got a good deal on one to add to my studio.

  • What happened to #2? ;(

  • More 3am!

  • Ahhh, reminds of the good old Er-1. Gunna be buying my ass a new one soon.

  • That is one hundred million different kinds of awesome.

  • Wow, after owning my ER-1 for about 2 months now, and coming back to this video, it's as if I can appreciate it way more than before. Quite awesome what you do with the cross mod; before I got my EA-1 I was feeling the ER-1 by itself was too empty, but it looks like I just wasn't getting creative enough! I had barely dealt with cross mod at all, it's quite powerful.

  • you is begginer

  • I don't see you doing it better?

    :)

  • contrary to popular belief the er-1 is a 2 operator FM drum machine, not analog modeling. the 2 waveforms selectable by the button (sine and triangle) function as the carrier, and the six waveforms selectable with the knob are the modulator. the cross mod functions as another algorithm, with the carrier becoming a modulator too, modulating the modulator or maybe itself (feedback). im not sure about the exact mod path on the cross mod, but i know its one of the 2, probably the first.

  • Nice riddims ;)

  • I would bow down to you as my god if you made another ER-1 video... Thankyou for this video..

  • great,

    i really enjoyed watching it!

i tried to look it up but couldnt find the info.

can one use the er1s sequencer to trigger other synths via midi?
