  • Taibbi is great , we don't hear much of him in UK, probably cos he sticks to what he knows-- see his report in Rolling Stone on home foreclosures

  • I like Democrats but I like this dude even more because he cuts through the spin unlike ideologues on either side.

  • Wow an actual Democrat basher on TYT, amazing. Has TYT ever talked about the New World Order? They are justified to bash the traitor Bush, but Obama is even worse.

  • i am a long time rolling stone subscriber and this is by far one of matt taibbi's greatest pieces. he always seems to be ten steps ahead of any other jounalists.

  • This federal government has become it's own entity, it does not represent the United States, in any way, shape or form.

  • Amen. This government serves the United Nations and the Central bankers.

  • Thanks to Matt and Cenk for speaking the truth.

  • Matt Taibbi is the bomb!

  • sad but true...

  • oh come on......

    kind of frustrating

'kind of' is more of an understatement

  • At this point Im willing to vote for a Neo-Nazi if he promises to kill all Goldman Sachs employees and nuke the wall street just for the good measure. TIME FOR A FUCKING REVOLUTION.

  • Matt Taibbi is awesome, I just read his article on Rolling Stone called "Goldman Sachs: "Engineering Every Major Market Manipulation Since The Great Depression" (you can find it on Google). This is just fucking outrageous, too bad nothing will change before people round up these Goldmanites and others and guillotine their asses.

  • Goldman peddled toxic paper to AIG. When AIG went belly-up they owed Goldman 13 billion. The taxpayers then bailed out AIG who in turn gave 13 billion of our money to Goldman. This is the least of their evil deeds, but it shows who really runs our government. Great article.

  • Well not quite, AIG sold insurance to Goldman promising to cover Goldman's loses if Goldman's mortgage-backed securities portfolio drops in value, but AIG sold too much that insurance without having enough money to actually cover those loses, so somebody (somebody being you and I) had to help AIG to pay up to Goldman

  • I thought that bit that Taibbi did a great job. He showed how this mess was started by Wall Street and how Washington enabled it.

  • Would love to see Matt Taibbi co-host an episode of TYT he gives a refreshing angle on events.

  • Democrats = republicans in training = were fucked.

  • Matt Taibbi is great. Read his books, great stuff.

Thanks Young Turks for getting him.

  • This is why it makes no sense to get on Obama's case about the banks. Americans need to change the system of legalized bribery, or else Obama's hands are tied.

  • No Obama's hands are not tied.

He chooses to have his hands tied. Don't make excuses for him.

He promised change, he has to deliver.

  • don't forget Kennedy, they could pull a Kennedy on obama if he doesn't obey the white man!

  • I found this piece to be informative, fiercefunky. However, if you would like to present some evidence to back your quips I'd listen.

  • chill it with the sarcasm cenk

    decent interview tho

i want my tyt on msnbc

  • Man, this is really sick. Makes me wanna pull a David Carradine...

  • this is the kind of stuff that keeps msnbc from hiring you

that would be too much for the corporate main stream media lol

  • This entire financial meltdown and all these sorts of background stories of both Republican and Democratic contributions to the catastrophic mess that we're in supports my long-held belief that we're not in a democracy, but a plutocracy (government by the wealthy). The interests with the most money wins the argument and will get their way through these career politicians whose ultimate goal is like most people, job security (i.e. re-election).

  • We're a corporatist republic, which is very close to your thing, really.

  • The American Jewish population was estimated to be approximately 5,128,000 (1.7%) of the total population in 2007 (301,621,000)

what percentage of these Goldman Sachs people are Black or Hispanic? . What percentage of them are Jewish? "now Im not saying anything,...

    Im just saying"

  • Comment removed

  • Blacks and latin american people have just in the last 20 years been seeking careers in the financial sector, and have only really been moving to executive positions in the last decade. Its not a Jewish racist conspiracy, man.

  • Or rather those minorities just were kept out of financial sector by racist employers. Not specifically jews.

  • @lorenzon312-oh puhlease! who is still not even allowed into the harmonie club, white germans or black folks?

what i blame black folks for is the complete refusal, conciously or conciously have an independent economic base, their OWN banks, i fear that mistake is going to be fatal for black folks.

  • Barack Obama has been in office since just over 100 days. He is working on changing America it will take time. If you watch vids from the Whitehouse they tell you exactly what they are doing to help the economy and how they are going to do. Obama has proved he isn't a pig at the trough by not allowing his staff to take kickbacks and gifts from lobbists. You can't expect miracles from a guy who has been in office 5 months! Sheesh.

  • so the white house creates some videos and everything is perfect? fucking NITWIT. And what happens if the plans fail? obama is a corporatist through and through. he has absolutely no soul and will only do what is politically expedient. you're right, people shouldn't expect miracles from obama, I don't expect anything from him.

  • I think the poster is referring to the claims that he hasn't been transparent. And as to whether or not they fail, what does that have to do with whether or not he's being honest with America and doing the best he can? That is basically what his supporters have always asked for, and are judging him by whether he succeeds or not. Any plan can succeed or fail, and in the crisis he stepped into the chance of failure is high. But he will be judged on is whether he keeps his promises or not.

  • THANK YOU!

  • except when he specifically blames clinton officials too right?

  • You obviously don't watch this regularly.

  • fucking douchebag, he criticizes democrats as much as he criticizes republicans. now go kill yourself, you're wasting precious resources that could be used for people more worthy.

  • I've followed Taibbi since the eXile, and I'm glad he's risen like he has.

So. . . when do we get to storm the Winter Palace and kill everybody?

  • People are shocked by this pigs at the trough Washington cartoon?

  • Matt Taibbi is an American Hero.

  • fuck YES!

  • You damn right he is. Best fucking reporter in America.
