@nitrogeb Rotax's are becoming a rarity in the United Kingdom as most are now running a Honda CR250 Engline. I know they are readily available in Australia and America so that maybe your best chance.
Yo James, Stop oiling up the plug and rev that sucker!!! lol.
Anyone whos in the know could see you werent allowed to pass the arrive and drive guys, and unless your running the engine at high rpm its gonna run rich, Bet you dont get problems on a normal race day ? nuff said !
Kart sounds super sweet i can smell the 2 stroke aahhhh!
Keep at it and you'll get there! I did cadets for a season when I was 8. I'm now 20 and wanted to go back racing so I bought a 250 ;-) Man, things have changed since i last went karting!
@Jimbobbydazzler19 How do you think I feel! I'd love another go, but I last raced a kart 'in anger' in 1979/80 (210 Villiers) in The U.K. Ah, the good old days...... :-)
ok man!...mine are only suggests because I have a Rotax too and more or less I know their problems...i've got a Tony Kart Mitox chassis modified and a Rotax put down from an Aprilia 125 cross!!....we are a Team that race not in standard tracks........search the video SPEEDY KART SOSSANO here in you tube and tell me!!...
HI..i'm italian so sorry if my english not so good ;) ....it is clear that here is your first try on a kart, you have a very good time-shift and downshift but for this engines it is TOO BAD shift at low RPM...go more and more high with RPM or the spark-plug will suffer and you blot it with oil..like from minute 2:18...SO BAD for the engine. This are only some little suggests if you want!!..HOPE YOU HAVE FUN WHITH KART!!!.an other suggest....cut off the brake pedal and you will win!! :) hahahaha!!
@ARESwarRacer Thankyou for your comments :-) Unfortunatly I was instructed not to overtake the arrive and drive karts, so I was unable to do anything about this. Earlier in the day I oiled up the spark plug causing the engine to cut out on me. Lesson learnt. Thank you for your kind comments and instruction, I will be sure to put this into practise. Thanks :-)
the 257 is the 250cc version correct?

You should really let it rev out a lot higher though. Sounds like your shifting quite early.
You should be able to get the rotax up to around 14,000 - 15,000 rpm easily.

@gbain7 What??? a 125 will rev that high yes, but not a Rotax 257, 10,500-11,000 rpm.
