  • Wow, I forgot how good Cynthia Gregory was. This is hardly the most exciting version of this pas de deux, but God, her technique.

  • POWER COUPLE

  • Fernando Bujones is one of the greatest male dancers of all time. Gone too soon.

  • its amazing how much ballet has progressed since then

compare cynthia to the likes of osipova

bujones would still one of the greatest dancers in the world if he danced in this era

  • Simply perfection.

  • One my my favorite partenerships of all time. I used to see them all the time when I lived in NYC. RIP Fernando. Such an amazing and underappreciated talent. And Gregory was such a strong dancer. Loved her Odile/Odette!

  • I saw them do this live when I was a kid. OMG, the memories!!! Rest in Peace Fernando. Gone too soon.

  • Only one word can describe this performance.....WOW!!!!!!!

  • Wow, comming from a ballarina, I could only dream of making those steps loook so easy as she did. Truley jaw dropping. Phenominal too dancers.

  • Her tutu is white for Don q??? Oh well it was very pretty.

  • @gwennitoes: It's rehearsal, and she's wearing a white unitard and a white practice tutu.

  • @joeinparis

I agree that she was tall for him, but for me that's part of their charm. She was SO on balance, that I'm sure she was a dream to partner, and only someone with his brilliant technique could hope to stand out against her incredible balances. She's a bit old-school in her lines (over crossed hands in partnered pirouettes etc.) and he's new-school (for that time) with his high legs and perfect turn-out. They were a partnership of contrasts, bringing out the best in each other.

  • One of the greatest american dancers of our time. She is and always will be peerless and matchless.

  • I think she has a big feet so when she's on pointe she is much taller than him.

  • he's too small for her?

  • Both had amazing technique, line and artistry! Cynthia's balance en point is legendary. Fernando's partnering skill was only exceeded by his BRILLIANCE as a solo danseur noble when the choreography called for it... long, clean line ('legs for days!'), strong feet (the height of his jetes defied gravity... perfectly controlled landings), elegant body positions achieved with flair... a truly iconic danseur for the ages!

  • I am still missing in her dance artistic expression.

  • she looks stiff to me... but it's hard to make a tutu look good, and she does it well.

  • I really love Fernando Bujones, one of the most talented ballet dancers ever. Wow He's amazing.

  • Two of the greatest dancers ever. Nobody could do balances like Gregory.

  • Go check out Viengsay Valdes as Odette and Odile. She is spectacular!!!

  • Thank you for the suggestion! She is amazing - love her!

  • It's beautiful to see Fernando Bujones. What supremely elegant dancer he was. Cynthia Gregory remains one of my favorites.

  • Do you have the rest of this pas??

  • They used to say Cynthia was so strong and so amazing at balancing that she didn't need a partner for a lot of stuff; she could actually promenade herself en pointe. :)

  • Cynthia is fab.
