  • Qh Cilla if only you would have taken him back !!!

  • listen cilla, no dubt omg

  • Great. Thanx for posting.

  • long live the king

  • jesus did not liked to be called a king either,,,so why do you call him a king?

  • Totally agree with Elvisfan22 Elvis never ever wanted to be compared to a King his faith in JESUS CHRIST was strong and his Love and his knowledge of even being compared to a KING was the worst compliment he stopped in the middle of a song one night because a bunch a girls had written on a long piece of paper and they stood up and strung that out across the isle where they were sitting and he said NO NO sit down I AM NOT A KING AND I DON'T GET INTO THIS KINGSHIP THING . JESUS IS THE KING.

  • Just when i thought i've heard all of elvis songs, i get surprised with another goodie!. Michael jackson had absolutely nothing on elvis presley. Hes litterally untouchable!

  • This is a great Song! True to feel the lyric's in your heart when your alone & heart Broken!

  • Absolutely fabulous version of this song !!!

  • @VMD1619

He loved her so much, but they weren't great together. He cheated, she cheated. They lied to each other. They were both dominant, strong personalities and they didn't mix well together. They looked great together, and Elvis did love her. But they just didn't match well together. A few months before he died, he finally got fed up with her and took Cilla out of his will. Which was pointless bc LMP got it when she was 9, so cilla got everything anyways.

  • Every time I see pictures of Elvis with Priscilla I feel his joy. Those were his happiest days for sure. Those were his glory days. Everyone who knew E well...confirms he loved Priscilla very much..and their love and closeness remained true right up until the end. They continued to love each other in a special and profound way. He was probably closer to Priscilla at the end of his life than to anyone else. Though it ended...their relationship (and fatherhood) were blessings for Elvis.

  • Truth is who cares, it ended, you had to live through that time to understand the drugs, everyone was a pill pusher so to speak if they went to a dr. They prescribed pills for everything. Of course none cured anything, still don't, if they did there would be no pharmacuticals. But they do make lots of money

  • elvisfan is WRONG. You can't trust the Memphis M on anything. First, they were employees. Second, few if any were perceptive. Sure Elvis expressed he did not want to marry...because like many men he wasn't ready and may have whined and moaned to those guys...but they were not in his heart. It was essentially "ultimatum time" with Priscilla...as The Col. told him...you can't drag this out any longer it doesn't look good. Marry her...or don't. He loved Priscilla very much and CHOSE to marry her.

  • Heartbreakingly beautiful, and sad as all hell,...

ONLY ELVIS COULD SING A SONG LIKE THIS

    WITH SUCH EMOTION !!!

    BEAUTIFUL VIDEO .

  • why did priscilla and Elvis divorce?

  • @pillyhaliiwell

Ultimately, bc Cilla left him for his ex-friend and karate instructor, Mike Stone. But they just grew apart. She thought marriage would change him, but it didn't. He wasn't a one woman kind of guy. And she wanted to be the center of attention, and Elvis was always the center of attention. After a while, she started cheating too. And she left him a few days before Christmas for Mike.

  • How unfair from him. He recorded the song 1973 when dating lovely Linda Thompson, she was the only girl who really cared about him, but hey, the one that you do not have is always better. Do not get it.

  • I agree w/what u put in the end of the video & If I'm not mistaken he had asked her to take him back but she didn't say anything & he supposedly said "it's too late" but great song & vid thanx 4 sharing.

  • True words my friend, true words.

  • He's right!!!

  • Elvis DID NOT want to marry her!! FACT!! Read books by the Memphis mafia and ALL of them will tell you he didn't want to at all!! He just didn't want to end up with a busted career like Jerry Lee Lewis did back in the 50s because of a girl.

  • Actually, he himself said that he didn't plan to marry any girl atm, but hoped that some day he could have a family of his own.

  • @LastElvis90 : I guess he wanted to do what MJ did LOL.. But it didn’t work out for him. The time was different then.

  • @LastElvis90 Elvis was too big, MUCH BIGGER than Jerry Lee Lewis (or any other artist for that matter... Elvis was, is and will remain unique and untouchable). It would've been impossible for him to "fall" because of a girl. If anything would've gone wrong with his career because of Priscilla, she would've been a dead woman, no kidding! :)

  • @LastElvis90 Why don't you accept the FACT that Elvis loved Priscilla, the FACT that he married her because SHE was the one for him? Does it help you to hate her? !

In the beginning of this song he doesn't say "Listen Ann", or "Listen Linda", or "Listen Nancy" ... He's singing for (STILL) his little Cilla!

  • I love Elvis...can't stand the MM though - not taking away Elvis' own personal responsibility...but no true friend would stand by and let their friend self-destruct. They were spineless and he was paying their bills. They can WRITE/SELL BOOKS all day long about how much they loved and cared about him...doesn't change what was actually going on.

  • I agree. They say "How can you protect someone from themselves?" Which is true, HOWEVER I will tell you this. If my Sister was on drugs and consistantley abusing them I would talk to her; then talk again; then yell at her; THEN TURN HER IN!! No matter what she would do to me; disown me, call me a backstabber etc.. It wouldn't matter because I know that I was doing the right thing for her because I love her!!

  • Everyone is entitled to their own possition ot this topic, all that really matters is that it's a GOOD song.

  • @elvisfan22 me too. I agree with you. Elvis should not have died.

  • Elvis was much bigger than Jerry Lee Lewis, he could not have ended like Jerry, no matter what!

Maan, I am looking at Priscilla and a see a breathtakingly beautiful woman. What's not to understand that Elvis really loved her and he really wanted to marry her? In a way you make it sound as if Elvis was a man without a spine and without his own will,a guy who was told what to do. It's not fair.

  • @elvisfan22 :I agree, if you watch Linda's interview she said it too. I heard that Elvis told someone that he did big mistake. Elvis was with Cilla since she was 14 years old, he promised her parents to take care of her, and he got stuck with her. Elvis was man of his words.

i didnt hear it but i heard it from someone else.

  • @elvisfan22 -Come on Elvisfan22-Elvis never did anything that he didn't want to. Except for his movies. Elvis loved Priscilla or he wouldn't have married her. People think they know his heart. Elvis didn't even know his own heart at times due to his addictions. Elvis was the best entertainer ever but like he said the only king is "Jesus" and the fans who referred to him as "The King" didn't know him either or they would know he didn't like being called that.

  • @taylorpresley1 ... I agree with you .. especially about the fact he didn't like being called The King.

  • @elvisfan22 Oh yeah, lets believe what the Memphis Mafia said!!! Most of them did not like Priscilla because SHE was his wife not one of the boys. I am 71 so i have been a fan forever. I HAVE read all the books. Could he have stayed with Ann Margaret? Who knows but he was not use to sharing the spotlight with a woman or anybody for that matter. I never read anything about Charlie Hodge or Jerry Schilling saying that. The MF were moochers and backstabbers!!!!! He was ELVIS PRESLEY!!! Loved him

  • she went to the concerts purposely to torment his soul she didnt want him to stop loving her it was all about the pay back for her she had all the power now she turned hateful at the end of the marriage why didnt she try one more time she owed him that much dont keep the presley name its his name dont be a hypocrite dont u didnt love him anymore or u would have gone back she still says she loves him to this day no u didnt

  • I am an Elvis fan. But why why do some of us make up shit that never happened. Like he sang this song to her face while she was in the crowd, with tears running down his face. Folks get your facts straight. Do you also here him say "you dirty little slut". Well he did. Be real people.

  • I'm sorry you feel that way. :-(

  • yes he did say cilla as she was talking and not listening to him if you listen to the song he say lucy. to and she is the one he was in love with

  • It is true he says 'listen cilla'. this wasn't the first time he performed this live, i have posted a video of him singing this song in vegas a full 12 days before this version but this is special coz Priscilla was in the audience and was her fave song. he alledgedly went and found her in the audience and sang it directly to her, with tears running down his face.

  • Yes- you can hear his true emotion in every word!

  • @hollandgroupc2008 : Ahhhhhhhhhhhh i hate Cilla more now.

  • They were a beautiful couple...what a shame she got over him before he got over her! She was in the audience when he first sang this song..Las Vegas live and he said "Listen Cilla." I've heard the version where he introduces the song and recognizes her and Lisa Marie. This was after their divorce.

  • so true...thanks for the comment!

  • He definitley says listen cilla. How sad.

  • Suuuuuper.!

  • I love he mentions his wife, and she was slipping out of his heart :( it is truly sad

  • A beautiful song for a beautiful love story!

    Wonderful.

    Thanks

  • Did Elvis say listen cilla or did I just think he did?

  • I think he said it. At least, it sounds "listen Cilla" to me, and English is not my mother tongue, so...

  • Love this!

  • This is really GREAT, fantastic job!!!!
