Horkina has no class that is what you get when u see her, she is a big cry baby and does not represent what gymnastics is all about, the sport is about grace, beuty, power that russsian girl looks like a big ice cream stick. she is such a sour puss who cares about her, bi wenjing is way more classy than her. great that she "china" the gold, congratulations Bi Wenjing

And also they are trying to make it sound like Bi was such an amazing gymnast because she beat Khorkina. She won because Khorkina had a mistake. Not because Bi was better than Khorkina. It wasn't Bi winning the gold it was Khorkina losing it.
Mistakes are the only reason gymnasts win. So if I went in their with a 20 difficulty level and Khorkina had a normal one, but I failed all of my moves, I would be a better gymnast?
I didn't understand your comment. And I don't agree with the "mistakes are the only reason gymnasts win." It may seem that way, but there are gymnasts who perform there best and then another gymnast performs even better.
Well, it might've been different earlier, but now the scores are based on difficulty+10-errors. The difficulty is set before it even starts. Therefore, at a competition, you win by having the least errors. Thus, obviously all gymnasts win because others make more mistakes (unless there was a huge difficulty gap)
You should konw that if Mo huilan and Bi wenjing do not have a small mistake in 1995 and 1996,they will be the champion instead of Korkina. So I can say that it wasn't Kor winning the gold but it was Chinese losing it.
@xuhu9 This is just being a sore loser. Performing perfectly (or well) is a HUGE part of winning. Someone who's talented but chokes up every time is not a winner. So yes, Khorkina did win the gold--over and over and over.
@xuhu9 You are incorrect. Sorry. Insulting me doesn't change the facts and frankly weakens your already shaky argument even further. If an athlete can't perform when it's time--they don't win. They don't get to comfort themselves by claiming to be the "real" champion--they lost. Liu lost that gold. Khorkina won it. That Khorkina went on the win gold after gold on bars just proves it, but even if she hadn't won again, she delivered when it counted.
@xuhu9 *pats xuhu on the head* You just keep calling me names, if that makes you feel better. But you can't change the results. Whining about the judging doesn't change it. And arguing that Liu was "robbed" really doesn't hold up when the supposed "robber" went on to win 4 more world titles and 2 Olympic titles in that same event. But go ahead, keep screaming names at those who disagree. Heck, scream at the record books. Doesn't change a thing :) Liu lost. Khorkina won. End of story. Bye!
I'm surprised Kui Yuanyuan was lumped into the bunch, because she really wasn't all that good on bars. The other girls were exceptional.
Anyway, cool documentary. I'm glad Bi was happy with her win, and she should be, because in China, winning a World Cup Finals gold medal is the same as winning a World Championships gold medal. So far as as Bi/China's concerned, she is a "world champion" even though the rest of the world doesn't see it that way.
My gosh she's so grown up now in that interview. She was one of my favorites at that olympics. It's a shame they didn't show her more. She's so adorable.

That skill should not be named after her. I hate that about WAG. The girls get credit for a skill made by someone else.

I think you are the loser.
Korkina robbed Liu xuan's gold medal on bars in 1996 Worlds.
Maybe you do not konw the history, let me tell you about it.

@NYCBlonde You are a score loser. What a shame.
You only look the scores.
xuhu9 1 year ago
@NYCBlonde The thing is that even Chinese girls hit their routines, they are still underscored by the judges.
So the score is not the only standard to prove who is better.
NyCBlonde is totally a score loser because he/she only look at scores.
what a shame.
