I haven't watched this video in a while! Anyway I'm Stephanie the girl singing & talking about Harajuku! The comments on this video are hilarious! I guess people don't understand my sarcasm! LOL! Please folks don't take me seriously! Anyway my old YT account is gone! Check out my new YT account! Just press my user name! I know you want too! ;p o_o
Idk, Ive personally met Stephanie at the Cherry Blossoms festival in Little Tokyo and forme she does sing really well, just needs to probably go on more performance wise than karaoke singer, yknow? But shes definitely sweet and talked with her, and did record her doing Utada Hikaru's English rendition on Hikari, Simple and Clean on my channel.
I was in that exact corner you were on in the beginning of the video but it wasn't nearly as crowded because it was Wednesday. I did have my stalker lens on my camera though so I was able to get some pictures of the random cute girl on her phone sitting down and some dudes smoking by the phone. (Message me if you want them =])
I would love for someone to punch that girl in the face. Dont get me wrong, shes probably great in person but over the internet, she is very annoying. lol
u got to understand. there is no such thing as normality.. what is normal?? and there is nothing wrong with checking out teenage girls and there beauty there...its a fascinating culture there...
I'm still undecided on Harajuku. Before I visited I imagined there was going to be a 'vibe' there and i must say I never felt it. It was an interesting experience though. As an Australian girl if i saw Aussie girls dressing up like that sitting on a bridge or in a park I would be calling them all kind of names. Do Japanese girls feel the same way about the girls in Harajuku?
not really. It's quite the opposite. everyone belongs in their own place in the japanese society, and no one is criticized or judged for what they do or who they are.
I'm interested to know what changed your mind since I saw you bashing it 90% of this video. o.o Was it the one out of the dozen bands that didn't sound horrible? Was it the cosplayers in erotic outfits? Was it watching Stephanie perform? Wait don't tell me... I know. It was the crossdressing guy you took a picture with in the end right? XD In any case its good that you don't completely hate it. I'd definitely like to visit if I have the chance.
I don't get those girls are erotic. they are just kawaii. they are just peacefully expressing themseives in fashon they like and notheing go any further. actually, harajuku is in one of the safest city in the world.
i don't get how their outfits are erotic. the first thing i thought of when you said that was those slutty abercrombie-ridden 10 year olds in skirts 7 inches above they're knees.

that Harajukuu is kind of funny just for the fact that your guaranteed to see some really bad hillarious fasions, especially that Mr Sexy maid guy that was messed up. Also the Japanese suck at music, one day they will prove it scientificly but there is evidence like no JPop bands have ever been ranked on billboards top 100, MTV, Fuse, and Sirius do not play JPop, and I Don't think there has ever been a broadcasting radio station that played JPop on air. Also I've never heard any good JPop.
Don't trust Billboard and MTV, just listen what you like. Of course, you have the right to dislike Jpop, neither do I like it but basing musical taste in what MTV has to say, well, there is a problem there.
The Japanese do not "suck" at music... You've only been exposed to the J Rock/J Pop genre from Japan.. ... Look up Nobuo Uematsu and Joe Hisaishi among others. And for what its worth, how much foreign music is played in the United States anyway? In fact, pretty much every source you've listed focuses on mainstream music.. I guess by your logic, classical and orchestral music must be some of the worst shit ever! (._.)
Hey it's Stephanie! I've met her a few times too, she's performed here at the Fresno ani-jam events here in California. shes a pretty cool chick and really cute!
wait so harajuku is sorta like cosplaying anime crap? I like anime... buuuut the idea of old men taking picture of young teen girls doesn't sit well with me... ew
lol i like how u assume wer all creepy old guys, almost insaulting concidering im not evin old enough to drink in the states... thank god i live in canada on that last point... but back on topic, i wish i lived in Japan, huray for erotic outfits! yay!

hi. i just wanted to ask you for something that you should have put in the sidebar, which is the name of the song that band was playing (the good one, naughty john). so...yeah, looking forward to a next video :)
I was at a concert of hers she was singing at a Convention once we didnt stay to long cause the music was loud and was hurting my dads ears.. ^.^' Lol
Harajuku. All these kids want is attention and this is a way to show their feelings and style. Just like here in america kids are goth, emo,or what ever its a way to get their point across and is a easy way for everyone nationwide and for themselves to understand. This is easier than writing a letter to the president, ambassador or emperor.
I have to say I don't understand Japanese but I did prefer the one you labeled Good. XD
It takes a lot of courage to just get out there and put your music out there for people to judge, and I have a lot of respect for anyone that could do that.

Many of photos taken in Harajuku end up in fashion magazines all around the world. A lot of these kids/teens/young adults can't get away with wearing all these extreme fashions in their daily life, so once a week they all get together with their fashion comrades and hope to god someone takes their photo and people all over the world will appreciate what they do/wear.
That being said, I really like the lolita fashion and I would love to explore some of the lolita shops in Harajuku.
that bad sounded kinda fucking kool. only music i listen to is like rap and hard rap shit like that first time hearing j rock sounds kinda kool. my runs a record studio ill get him to let me find a j rock band in japan :)
I love Stephanie Yanez~ I am so glad you went back to Harajuku (well a long time ago haha) and took another vid of it all - been watching your vlogs for the last 2 days and cannot get enough! You are very informative also - thank you so much for doing this and good luck with your career :)
LOL at 8:30! But yea I totally agree with you about the kids dressing up thing. I mean i guess its okay, but sometimes some kids just dont do it right and they look bad O_O. Nice vid.
Back in the late seventies on the streets of New York DJ's and early rappers would hotwire light poles and light fixtures to get power...i don't think that's what those guys are doing though...if you've got something that big going on they probably set up big power strips all up and down the Park and it might be free but i bet you have to pay by the hour or something for the power so you can play.
Yea, I assumed that was it. They probably rent the power hookups. Of course Tokyo is coursing with electricity in every corner so it's not surprising that you can tap into it out on the sidewalk.
Yea. A city like Tokyo is gonna have power strips everywhere if they think they can get money off of it. Maybe I'll get to find out if I get to go. Oneday...
I know what makes the "good" band so awesome.... the lead singer's ginger sawgg!

I love Stephanie Yanez~ I am so glad you went back to Harajuku (well a long time ago haha) and took another vid of it all - been watching your vlogs for the last 2 days and cannot get enough! You are very informative also - thank you so much for doing this and good luck with your career :)

Where are they getting the power for these amps?
DavePerry2012 3 years ago
Back in the late seventies on the streets of New York DJ's and early rappers would hotwire light poles and light fixtures to get power...i don't think that's what those guys are doing though...if you've got something that big going on they probably set up big power strips all up and down the Park and it might be free but i bet you have to pay by the hour or something for the power so you can play.

Yea, I assumed that was it. They probably rent the power hookups. Of course Tokyo is coursing with electricity in every corner so it's not surprising that you can tap into it out on the sidewalk.
DavePerry2012 3 years ago
Yea. A city like Tokyo is gonna have power strips everywhere if they think they can get money off of it. Maybe I'll get to find out if I get to go. Oneday...
