  • i feel your pain girl. i got the same dam thing just not anerexic or what not.

  • I love Girl, Interrupted and am a huge fan of Angelina Jolie, but I seriously doubt you have BPD. (I have it.)

  • you sound like a typical teenager hun, your only wanting to have bpd because your idol was in that movie.

  • I have been psychotic before, and I have to say that anyone with these kinds of illnesses should not have children and pollute the gene pool and cause the next generation to suffer a little bit more from these diseases.

  • The clinicians say I have it, close friends say I don't...and, yet, I find it easy to look down the barrel of a gun, so I don't know.

  • @fawnknudsen You don't have clinicians telling you you're bpd for no reason.

  • the character i related to was clementine in eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

  • hello in 21 was diagnosed with BPD when i was 17... Classic Borderline I am... it sucks the mood sifts and the extremes...more anorexic behaviors lately got threatend with IP treatment 2 days in a row. I started cutting when I was 12 its been about 6 months since the last time I cut. Im really inspired by your vids...so much that Im gonna start one myself

  • I have bpd and I think you should probably bring it up with your therapist if you think you have it, hopefully you dont have it, honestly its hell..... Every day is a constant struggle....

If you do get diagnosed, Id definately go with personal and group therapy.. its time consuming but it helps a lot when youre with other people who are going through the same thing as you are... good luck!

  • i dont know if you should really be self-diagnosing yourself though hunni just because you think you have it dont mean that you do its best to get tested xx

  • the main symptom of bpd isnt depression its lack of self image or the in ability to form a idea of your own self image and being incapable of fealing 2 emotions at the same time ive looked in to the diagnosis of the disorder and those 2 points i make are what defines it from all the others. the emotional diagnosis is a byproduct of what the core problems are in the disorder and why there is alot of confusion in describing what the disorder acually is.

  • bpd is a myth

  • @johnny4463435

are you fucking retarded? its not a myth, you're an idiot. I bet you wouldn't be able to handle one day living with it.

  • i fit them, and i also think we should become internet partners

  • nope, firstly you need to fit 'general personality disorder criteria', then many slightly highly refined disassociations divide each behavioural manifestation, for BPD you need to fit the 9 DSM-IV criteria, plus the one mail fixative, as it were. Remember these things act in clusters, it is unlikely you have just 1 disorder.

  • Hi there. I have BPD. I have been struggling a whole lot with this disorder. If you really want to understand or find out if you suffer from this disorder. I would suggest that you get this book. The title of the book is : " I HATE YOU, DON'T LEAVE ME". Written by Jerold J Kriesman. Very good book.

  • Part 2...lol....

Best thing to do is to see someone who specializes in it, and discuss things like your mood, and impulsivity, and other trademark symptoms of the disorder. :-)

    ~Liz

  • You know yourself best. If you read about it, and talk to a mental health professional and feel that the diagnosis fits, there are many things that can help you to overcome the symptoms. I don't agree with all the people that say "if you think you have it, you don't" or vice versa. That is not always true. I've been very correct with things I have felt I struggle with.

  • Anyone looking for real words on what defines BPD:

    1. Relationship difficulties

    2. Fear of abandonment

    3. Feelings of emptiness (no idea of self)

    4. Intense acting out of anger (like she was talking about, sometimes for no good reason)

    5. Impulsivity (food, shopping, sex)

    there are more....

  • Hi. I was diagnosed with BPD, and when I read the description, I was like "yep, that sounds about right". So I disagree that those that have it, don't think they do...I've read several books on it "Borderline Personality Demystified", "Get Me Out of Here", and others I can't remember. I would definitely suggest seeing a psychiatrist and see what they think...

  • NowTHAT'S a great video

  • hey, i think you should see help but i dont think you have BPD i have BPD and its taken me 7 years to accept it. Some personality disorders have similar symptoms to others but i dont think its BPD , when i read the symptoms you read i felt a mix of anger upset and laughter! I do think you should ask a mental health expert and not put it down to one thing! It may help! I hope you feel better sweetie xxx

  • people who actually have it do not " think " they have it.

its "hell" all the time for them.

  • really don't think theres anything wrong wtih you....

i feel like you want to think something is wrong with you.

  • My opion is this...the ones who think they have something actually don't but the ones who deny it have it and/or others. Still want to be sure go see a psychiatrists for an evaluation. I don't see anything wrong with you.

  • okay, first thing the movie Girl Interrupted is actually a bad representation of BPD! i will admit i think it is a good movie but don't follow any mental guidelines on that one eh! also, you need to bring this subject up with your doctor, ask him to set you up with a psychologist for the personality disorder test and that way you can get an official diagnoses! you'll work things out from there! good luck, God bless, and stay strong!

  • You should read the book "Lost In The Mirror". It's about BPD and it helps you explore the possibility of potentially having it. My therapist told me to read up on it. (Don't see her anymore b/c she's a bitch.) But yeah. I have BPD and Bi-polar...amongst other things. I can tell you first hand not getting treatment for it can make things a lot worse. I'm hallucinating and hearing voices. Might be progressing into psychosis...or just schitzo all along. It's pretty frustrating and scary.

  • There's a lot of denile when it comes to mental illnesses. Just because she didn't know what exactly she had and is just now coming to this realization doesn't mean she's not bpd.

  • Hey girly,

Have you sought out treatment for this?

You really should before it gets completely out of control. Take care!!!

    xoxoxoxoxo

  • I'm a 28yr old male that was diagnosed when i was 19 and in basic training. But i've been suffering my whole life. It's not something that just appears it's a daily struggle just to live to feel like i'm accepted and loved, anything can set me off and just as quickly i'm over it. I feel hollow an emptyness that never goes away. I burn myself and have for roughly 15 years, i've tried to kill myself 5 times, it's an eternal struggle just to accept myself. you just sound like a typical teen

  • i understand. but know that ive been in psychiatric hospitals, been hospitalized for anorexia for weeks over holidays like christmas, tried killing myself as many times as you have too.

  • onset is usually in early adult hood, like 20-25, if you are a teenager a lot of bpd symptoms are normal

  • I have BPD and have had the symptoms all my life.

Having an eating disorder doesn't mean you have an identity disturbance. Identity disturbance goes farther than just having an eating disorder.

Self diagnosis isn't a good thing.

Also the symptoms have to happen for a long time... instead of just suddenly (like your anger).

Talk to a psychiatrist about it and they can help you.

A lot of people have these symptoms now and then, but BPD is about having them to the extreme

  • If you have an eating disorder, contemplate suicide often, cut, and have a 'really bad temper', that's enough to bring it up to your Dr.. I am BPD and bipolar. If you want a proper diagnosis, don't downplay, or upplay anything, be as totally honest as you can. I had bad suicidal stuff, and I don't even think about it any more....there is help, if you are willing to work on it...you are the one that has to do the work...the cutting and suicidal stuff being gone is worth the work.

  • IMHO, you do not have BPD.

For one thing, these symptoms won't just start recently. You will have had them for almost as long as you can remember.

  • hii thanks for accepting my friend invitation anyway i agree with teh angry issue lmao i notice it too but i still go ahead with it... but yeahs i def. have bpd... and btw u are really pretti lol do your mood change a lot too? cuz mines do and then i cant control it ...>, >

  • Hey! I have bpd... you can message me if you want and I'll give you my AIM. I love your vids btw

  • I've seen Tami Green on this site, she has a good presentation.. important though she says BPD is treatable. I'm not convinced you want treatment.. That's why your cautious about telling your counselor of the symptoms you have. Check out Ophelia9184 she talks about the pain of BPD has caused for all these years but doesn't discuss hope for tx.. I sure hope you don't set yourself up for failure.

  • Welcome to the club.

  • The Eating disorder and cutting are big signs, I have BPD, diagnosed at 35, but the signs were there when I was in 9th grade. Feel free to email me!

  • It's really hard to diagnose in teens. Psychiatrists aren't technically "allowed" to diagnose a client with BPD until they turn 18. It's been said that I could have it and I am 18, almost 19 and they still are unsure. I fit some of the criteria also. I know it's hard not knowing, but being afraid to know at the same time...

  • Hey O Snapski... I am a former mental health therapist and I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder last year (an extremely rare MALE BPDer)... I can tell you that if you think you have it... please please please talk to your GP or find a reputable psychiatrist in your area... only they may diagnose and treat you... if you stronly suspect you have this disease, please don't hesitate to talk to an MD immediately!!!

  • In some ways you are better off not having an official diagnosis. Just have a heart to heart with your doctor. If meds are prescribed, first check out the side effects from people who have used them. Sometimes the best cure is your present coping skill.

  • Diagnoses like this are not usually given until after high school. Or they shouldn't be.

  • but I think that has more to do with the eating disorder than anything else). With that being said, I agree with the one doctor on not having it because I know I don't match most of the criteria, and again, what plays out with me eating disorder wise is a completely separate issue.

Exploring the topic with your doctor is a good idea though, so give it a try if you're up for it and let us know how it goes.

  • Although having one disorder or illness doesn't necessarily mean you have another, often times there are many mental illnesses that tie in with others.

I think it's a really good idea to bring it up with your doctor if you're questioning it. Even if it turns out not to be a problem it's always better that you address your concerns. I've had one of my old doctors diagnose me as BPD and another tell me that there is no way. Myself, I do know that I meet some criteria (abnormal self views, etc,

  • I don't have BPD but there is a lady who is an expert on BPD and has a YouTube account (User Name AJMahari). Check out her videos and website. Good luck to you!

  • I have Bpd. It's a constant rolling coaster, literally. Even when I'm at work, if I'm worried about stuff outside of work, I can't stop crying. I've been cutting for over ten years. I've been struggling off and on with ED-NOS for about 8. So, yeah, I know what you're talking about. Totally.

  • Umm yeah I was diagnosed with that when I was in freshman year and soo yeah it kinda sucks to be titled as it and it is really hard to deal with it. Umm if you ever wanna chat about it or u want me to make a video about it then let me know...don't know how soon this next two weeks I will make a video but I will try as soon as I could

  • My therapist once suggested I could have BPD but I only fit a few of the criteria; not enough to be formally diagnosed. Interesting topic though :)
