Very good! I have an Axiom 25 from M Audio and i am trying to do some orchestral music with it and Garageband too. I am already a musician but i don't play the piano. Only Classical Guitar. I am trying to learn some basic stuff of piano now. Any advice? Contrats for your music. It is pretty good.
Your music sounds great! I like it a lot! I am a teacher at a german high school. We started a new YouTube internetTV on our school homepage. We always look for good music for our video clips. Would you allow us to use yours someday? We would mention you in the end credits of course.
This is truly an amazing piece of music. I swear, if you get your name out there, you have the skills to be writing theme songs for films as big as Avatar. You have a true talent, and you are very good at what you do. I enjoyed this song a lot! Thank you for sharing it with me. Definitely keep writing music!
Jam Packs has some beautiful strings, winds and percussion, but the horns still sound synthesized. It's always been a problem for synths. I overcome this by warming the sound (reduce treble, raise mid range a tiny bit and raise bass a little more).... turn all echo off and give it plenty of reverb so the saw soundwave flattens a little...
All i can say is wow. How long did that take? The longest i ever spent on a garageband song is 3 hours, that must have taken weeks. Insane.. You are really amazingly good.
@hellomate639 well considering i uploaded this video in march 2009 and the first viewing of avatar was December of 2009, i dont think that the video could possibly have anything to do with avatar... if you are talking about the melody from :20-:40, then i addressed that in the description.
Shut up, stupid random internet person who knows absolutely nothing about me who lacks the patience (and therefore anticipatory intelligence) to read the rest of my comments.
Wow dude you just suck. You couldn't of thought of better parts to wonderful instruments? Ur so corny! A thing u need to know bout music is there are some instruments you just don't use together!
Great work mate. I love the track. the only critique i have is at the beginning with all the horns, i think there should be a longer release time so they don't sound so synthesised. but apart from that 110% brilliant.
Wow!!! I am relatively new to using garageband and am mainly using it for playful trite tunes. I was searching youtube for tips and hints when I came upon this. You are SEVERELY TALENTED!!! I usually think of myself as a creative individual, but you really have inspired me!
HEY! I need someone that's pro on garageband to help make the soundtrack for my upcoming video game. Anyone who wants to. Comment on one of my vids to tell me.
You're MIDI and Garageband skills are VERY impressive. I hate to say anything negative, because, being a musician myself, I know how much work you put into this, but I can't say I care for the actual composition. It sounds a bit like a corny movie soundtrack or something you might hear in a mall at Christmas and, while it's orchestral, it's not really symphonic. It lacks the formal complexity and cohesion of a symphony. Still, kudos for putting your ideas into reality
this is really cool. I've got garage band and i was hoping if you would give me some pointers on how to make something like this. Did you use a keyboard?
I'm wondering; Do you have the full version of GarageBand? Because on my mac computer at school, it only seems to be a sample version therefore I don't have all the instruments and such.
@LadyYuzuki there is no sample version of garageband. the reason i have so many instruments is because i bought "jam packs" that add instruments and loops to garageband.
@Ninjaman176 come on dipshit. google "jam pack" and it's the first result. after you click the first link, scroll down and hit "symphony". god knows how you'll get $99 with a brain like yours.
@garylee9966 yes well if you had not noticed, coolperson58946 had answered my question already. yes i'll say i messed up, i was looking in the wrong area of the apple store. there was a direct link on my Mac book pro. it lead me to the program but no jam packs. So i asked. in my free time in class i did SEARCH, I dont use google, because they destroyed youtube from its past greatness. so garylee9966 don't act like a newfag and if your going to troll, troll better. @deguesstheboxingfan the reason every note is so accurate is because garageband has a feature to snap the notes to the closet subdivision you chose. for example, when i want 16th notes i do my best to play them out, then use this feature to make them 100% accurate.
@iKeyboard15 I think what he does is makes them all into sixteenth note triplets and then changes the velocity of each note into a higher one so it's a crescendo. Plus, adjusts the instrument to 100% echo and 100% reverb.
Amazing! I started to cry when I heard this. I also make GarageBand songs with my MIDI but I have yet to purchase the Jam Packs. Thank you for this beautiful song! My only suggestion is at 2:46 where the xylophone part gets added to by the other tracks, you might want to put some more reverb on the xylophone.
I will now think of you and this song whenever I make a piece, and I will strive to be like you!
I'm only really starting to do my own orchestral compositions so I'm just wondering whether you could give me a bit of a break down on how you start to bring it all together? e.g. percussion first or last, etc
