  • epic!!

  • Sooooooo nice, man, all respect to you !

  • verry nice.. plesure to listen!

looks like a lot of work too :) congrats

  • This actually sounds a lot like "I'm Lincoln" from the Island soundtrack in the beginning.

Very awesome though. It sounds like it would be a fun marching band piece.

  • :O That was amazing!!! I wish I could do that!!

  • where do u find that program.

    is it free

  • @flores414eric Only on a Mac...

  • wow

  • Beautiful..

  • Very good! I have an Axiom 25 from M Audio and i am trying to do some orchestral music with it and Garageband too. I am already a musician but i don't play the piano. Only Classical Guitar. I am trying to learn some basic stuff of piano now. Any advice? Contrats for your music. It is pretty good.

  • You gave me goosebumps! Awesome song!

  • Your music sounds great! I like it a lot! I am a teacher at a german high school. We started a new YouTube internetTV on our school homepage. We always look for good music for our video clips. Would you allow us to use yours someday? We would mention you in the end credits of course.

  • You should consider using the symphonic jampack if you havent already. Nice score, bro.

  • Insane...

  • is it ok if i post a video response?

  • This is so awesome :))

  • this song is similar to the island movie ending

  • "MY NAME IS LINCOLN" i love that song.

  • @ItsBenjiTV I totally hear that too!

  • the beginning made me cry...i love this...

  • nice :)

  • You could just buy Logic Studio and get 30,000+ loops/instruments including all jam packs and plugins

  • Video Game sound designer

  • j'aime bien écouter cette musique! Bravo à toi!

  • ... holy shit

  • Is there any way you could send this to me as an mp3? I would love to show this to my friend who is a video producer.

  • dude that was sick o.o keep em comming

  • Dude you are like a prodigy. You have a huge future ahead of you in film scoring or just composing in general. Keep it up, it's beautiful!

  • Sir,

This is truly an amazing piece of music. I swear, if you get your name out there, you have the skills to be writing theme songs for films as big as Avatar. You have a true talent, and you are very good at what you do. I enjoyed this song a lot! Thank you for sharing it with me. Definitely keep writing music!

  • Jam Packs has some beautiful strings, winds and percussion, but the horns still sound synthesized. It's always been a problem for synths. I overcome this by warming the sound (reduce treble, raise mid range a tiny bit and raise bass a little more).... turn all echo off and give it plenty of reverb so the saw soundwave flattens a little...

  • is it possible to open garageband pieces or Reason 5 tracks etc...with a notation software like Sibelius or Finale?

  • @shroomke if you save it as a MIDI file maybe

  • i can't stop replaying 0:17 - 0:21 :D i love that part

  • This is too good to be true..

  • All i can say is wow. How long did that take? The longest i ever spent on a garageband song is 3 hours, that must have taken weeks. Insane.. You are really amazingly good.

  • Dude! You wrote that?! That's amazing!

  • You mind if our band uses this? :)

  • amazing man you deserve amazing credit

  • This is pretty cool. If you could arrange something for me like this. I'd be grateful as hell.

  • can i download it as a mp3 ? i will use your name in the song and what ever you will call it the album i realy like it =)))

  • But will it blend?

  • @whicketywack That is certainly a good question...

  • Great Job, I want it on my iTunes!

  • pleeeease, can you teach me how to do this?!!!!!

  • this must have taken forever

  • In my opinion...there are parts that sound the same as other songs...but in my opinion....this sounds 100 times better than the original...

  • Wow, this is incredible! Very well done, I aspire to one day write a Garageband song as good as this.

  • this literally made me cry don't laugh i loved it so much

  • Yes, that is the Avatar theme. Why are you calling this an original composition!?!

  • @hellomate639 well considering i uploaded this video in march 2009 and the first viewing of avatar was December of 2009, i dont think that the video could possibly have anything to do with avatar... if you are talking about the melody from :20-:40, then i addressed that in the description.

  • Comment removed

  • @hellomate639 : don't be jealous that you can't make something even close to good as this

  • @crazymetroid

Shut up, stupid random internet person who knows absolutely nothing about me who lacks the patience (and therefore anticipatory intelligence) to read the rest of my comments.

  • @hellomate639 *Avatar trailer song. The song was made for "The Island".

  • Um, why is the Avatar theme in there?

  • @hellomate639

    Okay, here's what I've found:

That wasn't a score by James Horner or the guy who made the island music. It's just a trailer song they're using over again.

  • good song! and you have such a big screen! i'm so used to the tiny little macbook pro screen...

  • sometimes when i poo water splashes on me

  • Wowiewowowowow

  • Wow dude you just suck. You couldn't of thought of better parts to wonderful instruments? Ur so corny! A thing u need to know bout music is there are some instruments you just don't use together!

  • wow cool

  • wow

  • a small part of this music reminds me of my days of runescape

  • Is it just me, or did the creators of Avatar use some of this in the movie?

  • this is beyond amazing.

  • Great work mate. I love the track. the only critique i have is at the beginning with all the horns, i think there should be a longer release time so they don't sound so synthesised. but apart from that 110% brilliant.

    Christian

  • very inspiring! i am trying to make an orchestral song myself, but it's hard without the symphony pack :D

  • Cool song but Brass Section sounds really crappy, unrealistic, you understand?

  • Hey nice song. Just wondering, what program did you use to film it?

  • This is very cool. Good job!

  • dang!!! nice!! how long did it take you to arrange the whole song on garageband?

  • Why does this remind me so much of video game music?

  • this is awesome!!!!!!

  • Wow!!! I am relatively new to using garageband and am mainly using it for playful trite tunes. I was searching youtube for tips and hints when I came upon this. You are SEVERELY TALENTED!!! I usually think of myself as a creative individual, but you really have inspired me!

  • OMFGG I LOVE IT!

  • it's so epic!

  • non c'è male ....

  • HEY! I need someone that's pro on garageband to help make the soundtrack for my upcoming video game. Anyone who wants to. Comment on one of my vids to tell me.

  • You're MIDI and Garageband skills are VERY impressive. I hate to say anything negative, because, being a musician myself, I know how much work you put into this, but I can't say I care for the actual composition. It sounds a bit like a corny movie soundtrack or something you might hear in a mall at Christmas and, while it's orchestral, it's not really symphonic. It lacks the formal complexity and cohesion of a symphony. Still, kudos for putting your ideas into reality

  • i want to play this for a concert. (^_^) Chow.

  • omfg dude compose these song put em on paper and freaking sell them they r epic

  • Every time I watch this video I get chills down my spine. THIS is the reason why I love music so much.

  • Check out my stuff. I use garage band and I do orchestral pieces as well. :) Just search Ira Malone

  • is this the theme from "The Island" or just really close at the beginning

  • this is really cool. I've got garage band and i was hoping if you would give me some pointers on how to make something like this. Did you use a keyboard?

  • Masterfully done! Beautiful!

  • I'm wondering; Do you have the full version of GarageBand? Because on my mac computer at school, it only seems to be a sample version therefore I don't have all the instruments and such.

  • @LadyYuzuki there is no sample version of garageband. the reason i have so many instruments is because i bought "jam packs" that add instruments and loops to garageband.

  • @coolperson58946

Ooooh I see! That makes sense then

  • @coolperson58946 where do I get the Jam pack? and how much did you cost you?

  • @coolperson58946 where did you get the jam pack? been looking, cant find it.

  • @Ninjaman176

    apple.com/ilife/garageband/jam-packs.html

  • @Ninjaman176 you can download vuze and download them for free

  • @Ninjaman176 you can use vuze and download them for free: vuze.com

  • @coolperson58946 where do i get the jam pack? been looking cant find it.

  • @Ninjaman176 come on dipshit. google "jam pack" and it's the first result. after you click the first link, scroll down and hit "symphony". god knows how you'll get $99 with a brain like yours.

  • @garylee9966 yes well if you had not noticed, coolperson58946 had answered my question already. yes i'll say i messed up, i was looking in the wrong area of the apple store. there was a direct link on my Mac book pro. it lead me to the program but no jam packs. So i asked. in my free time in class i did SEARCH, I dont use google, because they destroyed youtube from its past greatness. so garylee9966 don't act like a newfag and if your going to troll, troll better. The game, you just lost.

  • @Ninjaman176 bitch, please. i just say what i want to. i'm not on the computer all day, so i don't know how to troll properly. surely you could teach me.

  • @garylee9966 yes bitch, please. go say what you want to people who care. and leave the rest of us alone. and if your not on the computer all day, how about not wasting our time gripping and starting shit. "come on dipshit" so yes bitch please stfu or gtfo. and have a good day.

  • @Ninjaman176 trololololol "u mad?" get the pile of shit out of your vagina. if you want me to "stfu or gtfo". don't respond.

  • @garylee9966 I aint even mad, just waiting on itt. but wasn't sure if trolling or just stupid.

  • @garylee9966 -responds- ^.^ your welcome i lol

  • Omg! Steve Jablonsky using GarageBand!

  • Did you have to buy all of those instruments? If not, how did you use them and/or find them?

  • this is really good man! the key changes are so dynamic...

  • Nice! The sounds from the Orchestra Jam Pack definitely sound better than the basic brass and strings in GarageBand.

    Keep up the good work.

I've attached a link to an original song I created. Enjoy!

  • Search for "Rubicon — GarageBand original song"

  • Thats incredibal!!! LOVE IT!

  • And how much time did you use for that? :O Awesome!

  • I don't care how similar your stuff is, THIS IS ABSO-FRICKING-LUTELY AMAZING!!!!

  • ahaha thats the theme from steve jablonsky "my name is lincoln"

    nicee :)))

  • I feel like I wanna do a symphonic and marching song now on Garageband...

    Hmm.

Did you convert your sound into MIDI sounds? Because your timing is so accurate, I'd find it extremely difficult to musically type everything.

Well, anyways, good job dude, you got yourself a subscriber. :D

    Keep 'em coming!

  • @deguesstheboxingfan the reason every note is so accurate is because garageband has a feature to snap the notes to the closet subdivision you chose. for example, when i want 16th notes i do my best to play them out, then use this feature to make them 100% accurate.

  • @coolperson58946 Oh yeah... Hmm... I didn't notice that.

But then you change tempos also, how'd it manage to snap those together?

  • Great composition - honestly!!

but to also give some advise: take a little more work into sound ; ) theres much more to get out of garage band

  • its look like a song composed by jame janblosky "my name is lincoln" frome the movie the island

    so cool

  • Amazing! However....it sounds really close to the song "My Name Is Lincoln" from the soundtrack album for The Island by Steve Jablonsky......hmmmmmm

Anyone who doesnt know the song, look it up on iTunes!

  • @IRockUtube101 He did say that theme was a play on The Island OST (info bar)

  • @arcangelsk8ter oh sorry, my lack of reading. He did do a great job composing this theme into his own song though. he is very good at what he does.

  • where do you get trumpets and other band instruments?

  • @skyfox315

its on the jam pack symphonie ^^i got it too it soooooo amasing

  • THIS WAS AMAAAAAZING!!!!!

    OUTSTANDING!!!!!

    GREAT!!!!!!

    JOB WELL DONE

  • hey man please answer- how do you do the cymbal rolls like at 0:11?

  • @iKeyboard15 I think what he does is makes them all into sixteenth note triplets and then changes the velocity of each note into a higher one so it's a crescendo. Plus, adjusts the instrument to 100% echo and 100% reverb.

  • Be a composer. please.

  • Amazing! I started to cry when I heard this. I also make GarageBand songs with my MIDI but I have yet to purchase the Jam Packs. Thank you for this beautiful song! My only suggestion is at 2:46 where the xylophone part gets added to by the other tracks, you might want to put some more reverb on the xylophone.

I will now think of you and this song whenever I make a piece, and I will strive to be like you!

    Long live GarageBand!

  • this is probably the best think i have heard in my life. NO JOKE

  • dawg ur good :) I love your brass :) so nice and rich I'm subscribing :)

  • I could see beyonce singing this.

  • Epic. Only thing I would say is that you have too many high/low cycles. I would try to do about 1 cycle every 1min 30sec.

  • but can you eat a pineapple whole?

  • On a level, this is beautiful. Did you use the Apple Jam Packs or just the default sounds?

  • @CassiveBrewster those are jam packs. the default sounds aren't this good

  • What are u doing sitting there at home .... ???? .. come and deliver ur music to this world .... Good one ..really having depth ... Thumbs up

  • you shoud write movie scores great job on this

  • 1 Word: EPIC

  • If Mozart realized what computers are capable of in the 21st century, he'd shat brix.

  • Good!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • If someone were to play me this song randomly I would have said it was immediate music, and that's saying alot. Amazing job!

BTW, how long did it take you to write this piece?

  • Reminds me of the avatar trailer at the beginning... they had a similar song

    Amasing work non the less

  • Comment removed

  • wow… dude i cant even… wow it brings tears to my eyes

  • Not my kind of music, but wow nice job

  • Change the progression

  • ASTONISHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • T_T..... that...... was..... BEAUTIFUL

  • do you have download for it?

  • Sounds a lot like Nightwish, not a bad thing

  • AWESOMENESS.....PURE MAGICALL AWESOMENESS.....

  • oh my f***ing days that is the best!!!! AMAZING

  • How long were you working on this Track?

  • Great ! Very good work :D

I compose with Guitarpro, on windows... But for musics, Mac rules the world ^^

  • amazing what one can do with gb, btw nice work

  • EPIC

  • AMAZING.

too bad the garageband instruments sound kinda assy, but if this was played on real instruments it could be epic.

  • great job dude, i;m a failed music composition student, youre inspiring me. keep doin this

  • ahhaa i recognize this song. "I am Lincoln" right? :)

    thumbs up if i'm right

  • @kirbyateu omg yeah! ;L

  • I'm only really starting to do my own orchestral compositions so I'm just wondering whether you could give me a bit of a break down on how you start to bring it all together? e.g. percussion first or last, etc

Oh and by the way... ABSOLUTELY AMAZING STUFF!

  • @Nocky321 im not so sure about orchestral music, but im okay with trace music. I usually start by making different base lines and then adding percussion and etc. After i get this done, I usually make a scale based on the base line i made, and then making a melody based on that scale. I hope i helped.

  • @thedeathswamp1 i meant trance

  • wow nice!

  • this sounds like something i would hear in a movie. Amazing job

  • YOU ARE AMAZING. dude, i use garageband to write my own music and ive been doing it for like 3 years. I cant even get close to the sounds you got from that. wow. You really figured out how to make it sound just like an orchestra. i thought i was actually at one of my schools lame orchestra concerts. way to go.

  • Woah, this is pretty good... Amazing, even. To me, music's meant to put a story in your head, ya know? Make you see the music aswell as hear it. And this did just that. Congrats, man :D

  • part at 0:18 sounds like my ringtone... lol great song though.!

  • you are amazing! you should send one of your songs to a movie director and i'm sure they would hire you for their movie to do the soundtracks etc. one question. what midi keyboard do you use? you are amazing! :)

  • hey man i love it and i was wondering if somehow you could send it to me plz. LUV IT

  • This is good!

I've actually been writing a bit myself.

type in the following in the search bar if you want to it hear my songs: 'project e scott hall fl studios 9'

Let me know what you think!

  • where did u get the xylophone and bells and all that?

  • @aarg4ingennavnfunker garageband jam packs
