One week they had an edition for the not-so-anorectic-teenager with tips on how to loose weight, where you could find clothes in normal sizes and more. wich is great but than I have noticed the way they were writing about it: "a chubby edition for the chubby teen" is an example. I've sent them an email saying how offensive it was. They never replayed.
The last time I read a trashy magazine, I believe the main articles were "Fattest woman ever to give birth" and "Cheryl Cole's brother used to sniff glue, let's all give her sympathy." Nice.

In the article it reiterates that it will reveal "their marriage plans". It's only at the end of the article that marriage is even brought up and all it is is a anonymous persons opinion that "they wouldn't be surprised if they got married". It was very disappointing that the magazine could just blatantly lie and have any pride after that!
I was once reading a magazine and it had an article about how Nicole Richie was dangerously thin and how she is a bad role model for the young girls who look to her and how her appearance is not something to aim for. On the next page it had a "what's hot" section of celebrities in dresses - one of them was Nicole Richie! All I could think was how hypocritical they were to say she was not healthy and then they go and put her in the section were most girls compare themselves with!
Oh god, that reminds me of one of my BIGGEST pet peeves with those magazines. They'll have an article about how 'real women have curves', and then extreme diet tips from some random celebrity ON THE OPPOSITE FREAKING PAGE.
What really gets me is when they find some picture of Angelina Jolie looking angry and one of Jennifer Anniston looking angry and then make up some bullshit story about a 'bitter feud' ! Literally every week in New Zealand Women's Weekly!
And I am aware I've just admitted to the world I read NZ Women's Weekly.
The comment i quoted earlier is in Vol 18 number 3 fall 2007 of KMT magazine's letter by the editor. The actual quote he cites in the magazine is "Our viewers are a bunch of dummies." It is the only publication I know of which reviews not only recent publications but film and tv documentaries and entertainment shows about Ancient Egypt and points out the many inaccuracies. Several documentaries have shot the set locations in Morocco on the Asterix and Cleopatra movie set. Cheaper there.
What really gets me is a magazine over here in the US where on the front cover EVERY week is Kristen Stewart and RPatz. EVERY week they come out with some other crazy BS story about them. It's ridiculous! I know they don't like telling the truth..but it sells..I would think to little teenage girls...but apparently to even the college women on campus, which is pretty pathetic. I would like to just have a chat with those who subscribe to that magazine and ask one question...WHY!?!?!?!

The editor of KMT magazine is doing technical assistance on a documentary in Egypt when he and his crew pass by a National Geographic film crew and he hears their producer say, "Don't worry about it, all our viewers are stupid and won't know the difference anyway." When you think about it being subbed to people who produce a lot of content is more burdensome. They cram up your sub box and demand your time. You're by comparison no trouble at all.

I get that kind of reaction from every BNP article I read, I read them so that I can stay up to date with them and have sources of criticism towards BNP supporters, but they just make me want to roll into a ball and scream into a pillow.
I was really upset at the horrible Chartjackers "the boy band" article that was published. That was from a legit news source, but completely skewed in a negative direction.
Oh same, I hated that article too. :( Although it did provide me with a laugh or two: getting Charlie's last name wrong, and then getting it right again without any explanation, was a particular highlight for me.
It was in The Times newspaper a week or so ago, and it's also online on their website. I shall not be linking to it here, as it is full of crud, but just search 'ChartJackers' on their site and it should come up.
I searched the article, have to say Becky I agree with you that it's a pile of pants. The times lady needs to do research as there is a female singer in the song it's not a boyband and she doesn't even mention children in need! She missed the point, epic fail!
