Wow- it looks like the couple in front just got married, and that song's translation talks about how the pleasures of love last a moment, but the sorrows of love last a lifetime... Not a very good choice for a wedding song!!
With an eye for detail: the blonde is happy, the dark one sad; the blonde carries a fan, the dark one a handkerchief; the blonde flutters her eyes, the dark one does not.
Plus very nice Mozartean interludes between the musical sentences.
Music composer Jean-Paul Egide Martini (1741-1816) was not an italian but german, his real name was Johann Paul Ägidius Martin or Johann Paul Ägidius Schwarzendorf from Bayer, Germany - wellknown as Martini il Tedesco.
This song that Martini composed in 1784 based on the lyrics of frenchman Jean-Pierre Claris de Florian (1755-1794).
I've heard MANY duets in my life, but this one certainly is the most perfect one I've EVER heard!!! I totally agree with memikell here.. These 2 voices were born to sing together! SO beautiful..especially the Refrain...Breathtaking! Besides is the Semperoper one of the most beautiful places to and to be able to sing!
That is really cute, i was practicing that last year, but i never thought about hte way people dressed at that time...very good job. i lov e fashion...thanks..its a very pretty song....
