Fishbone focuses on the profound side of music and life. RHCP were and are today a commercial band. They are good, but not near Fishbone's intensity nor creativity. You can listen to old ska, Desmond Dekker, for example, and get the same kind of creative expressiveness. Most music today is boring, catchy yes. You can listen to Fishbone over and over and you learn that they create good tunes out of chaos. They have proven that they can rock like anyone.
The Chilis and the Bone were friends. I know, I was there, I went to high school with Anthony and Flea. We all hung out in Long Beach, CA around 86-87. They both totally dug each other's music. And shared groupies;-)
I love Fishbone! I missed them back in the day but a friend of mine got me out to see them at The Independent in 2005 Dec then I caught them again in Dec at the Indy in 06 and a great show in late Nov in Berkeley at Shattuck Down Low. Angelo Moore is so talented and their live show really in jawdropping. Most underrated band in history is a fair comment.
I saw them on this tour. All honesty, of any concert I've ever been to, nothing to this day can top the unbelievable natural rush of exctatic adrenaline fueled happiness I felt when they came out and played Party At Ground Zero. That's the truth. I wish that concert was still going on right now
it's a shame bands like fishbone are underappreciated. i thank god i was born funky. they have a fan for life here.

There would be no such thing as RHCP if it wasnt for Fishbone!

They are in fact better than The Chili Peppers and this is coming from someone who likes the early stuff The RHCP put out.
Fishbone is much more innovative and does nearly every style out there and well at that.
