These events in our lives trigger these changes so it doesn't have to be about expressing what we feel now, it can be more about knowing what is on the inside that keeps pushing outwards towards the same sex, religion, race, origin, or in my case, psychological status.
The driving force is parental, authoritative, and/or guiding that person to the belief that there is something else that is better than what it was before. Why do you get a newer car, what makes you change phones, why do you hate your older brother for getting new stuff?
Why would someone change if nothing ever initiated that change. Then, wouldn't the changed behavior only mask the true issue? Coming out of the closet, becoming gay, going out and looking for men is all things that are intentional. You can't be gay unless there is some driving force behind it.
All behavior is natural, what counts is, what's desirable or acceptable. With homosexuality it depends on the social/cultural context within which it occurs. Personal attitude is governed by such, prescribed by culture, the variable is your level of non-conformity. From what I know of criminal profiling related to sexual predators, they all have their own specific traits they look for, and nobody is exactly the same. Finally, doing research into the nature of homosexuallity potentionally can stigmatise a part of the population (probably by using the information gathered in a wrong way), and it is not usefull so it should not be a prime goal to relive that curiosity. I, personally, am not harmed by gays. However, I live in Canada, and my tax dollars are wasted on "treatment" for people who primarily spread incurable diseases.

From what I know of criminal profiling related to sexual predators, they all have their own specific traits they look for, and nobody is exactly the same. I think the thing is that it is more common, at least in our current society, for girls to come forward after being molested by men. This in turn makes it easier for girls to come forward, if a man comes forward because a man raped him he suffers nothing but ridicule.

Finally, doing research into the nature of homosexuallity potentionally can stigmatise a part of the population (probably by using the information gathered in a wrong way), and it is not usefull so it should not be a prime goal to relive that curiosity.
