I must say an incredibly cool version of one of my all time favorites. This is one song that if stranded on an island I would have to have on my Ipod.
The most underrated song of all-time. Great drums, great guitar, great keyboards, great lyrics, great jam. A song we can all relate too; we've all been in the driver's seat. Contains my all-time favorite lyric: "Jenny was sweet". It makes me want to have a daughter and name her Jenny. I love Jenny!
Excellent video. Goes with the song very well and captures the imagination. It tells a story about the long road. I like the multiple blurred images. Good job! Thanks for posting :^)
This is not the original version, but I personally prefer this (remixed) version. I think it was part of a maxi-single, or EP, that was released a few years later.
This is the album cut. Get the cd SNIFF "N" THE TEARS - GREATEST HITS, with the girl sitting in the car and you can see a 58-VETTE thru the back glass with a skeleton as the driver, as the cover photo on it. YES, I know that was long!!!!
This is considered the long version. Where it came from, I'm Sorry but I don't know.
I have the record and the cassette from its original day of release and this version is on neither. I'd like to know also. I originally heard it some months back when I downloaded it off of mp3 Rocket.
Either version is fine with me and one of the best songs ever.
I've found extended versions to songs before in odd places. I just tend to call them album cuts because that's when I grew up. There were distinct differences in singles cuts and album cuts done by lots of bands. Whether or not this is an actual album cut or not I haven't a clue
Looking at what some have said, this is not an alternative version of this song. It is likely the album cut for the song. The song was released in 78 and bands usually released both singles and album cuts to get played on both pop radio and FM radio playlists
Thanks for putting this song on here, this is awesome.
I see some here calling this an alternative version of this song. It is in my opinion not an alternative version, but simply the album cut of the song. Back when it was released in 78, most songs had a singles cut, and an album cut, to cover all the bases
..ya know...re-reading some of my comments...scares me...to think that I was that messed up...and given a chance to be saved...by the grace of God...I don't deserve it...but I'm working on it...I really am...P.S. this is my all-time favourite song...period...not even sure why...
...five things...'white clinical acid'...a massive car sound system...'Driver's Seat throbbing thru the speakers'...a 1966 Chevy Beaumont with a small block 327...and the cops...oh, one more thing...I was in the "Driver's Seat"...
Damn you! It is a dream of me to do that! But we don't have cool cars in Europe...only good cars wich you don't have. I want to buy an american classic!!! Does anyone know how much u pay for an classic car in the us (for example '70 chevy coupe or something, doens't have to be top condition...)
check out my classic car videos to both the long and short versions..and the Classic Car set to Do It Again by Steely Dan..t depends of course on if you want a classic that is already peach..or you want one that needs TLC..I saw a 67 Mustang with a 289 in very good condition for $24,000..saw a 69 GTO in fair shape, needed body work, for $9,500..best way to pick one up quick is a car auction, but watch the newspapers closely and you can pick one up for a song..
Thanks! That is more expensive than I thought...Here u have '69 Mustang for like €8000...but that still needed some work. And fuel is more expensive here too. But saw a Plymouth Sport Fury for €3900 so think I'm going to buy that...If i get the money (I'm only eighteen...) What cars do u guys drive?
8000 ponds is around $17,000..and you wouldn't pay that for a Mustang that needs work..it varies from buyer to buyer and dealer to dealer..good thing is that there is no shortage of decent "classics" and parts are usually easy to get..unless you're looking for an original chassis for a 36 Ford Coupe or something like that..I've driven many cool cars and if you check the comments on my car vids you'll see some of them listed..
That's the way I got hooked on it, through my own dad...he loved it when it first came out in '79, and played it a lot when I was growing up...now, after all these years, I see why...I guess your father and mine have similar tastes in GOOD music...
I like the beat in this version, brings back memories thanx.
