Since his first season in 07-08, he's been named to the All Rookie Team, the Young Stars Team, and 2 All-Star teams. More importantly, the Canadiens have made the playoffs every year he's been with them. Pretty, pretty, pretty good. : D

Price had nothing even remotely close to Vancouver's offense to win his games for him, and he tied for wins with their top goalie. Price's future is bright. He's a future Vezina winner.

Also Price played 12 more games than Luongo (which is a good thing), that is the reason he tied him for wins. Also, Price wouldn't do much better in St-Louis, they are one of the worst teams. The way I judge goalies is on how they perform in the playoffs and Price was horrible before and ok this year. Also, any good goalie playing with Martin's defensive teams could have had Price's stats.

Price has Martin's defensive system, that's true, but even so - he's also got a team with barely any goal-scoring power. It's hard to win games when your entire top line is barely more productive than Corey Perry was alone. He was forced to carry a lot more weight that Luongo did and he performed almost as well.

This was actually a pretty darn good draft for us!
Carey Price (1st round)
Guillaume Latendresse (2nd round)
Matt D'Agostini (6th round)
and Sergei Kostitsyn (7th Rround).
All these kids are on our roster now and proved that they could play in the big leagues! I give credit to Bob Gainey but I mostly praise Trevor Timmins for seeing the talent in these kids!

goes to see how much these tv loudmouths really know about the game...thats why none of these guys are actual GM's. these guys doubted Trevor Timmins, who is the man behind drafting Price, not Gainey. Timmins built the "good" senators of years past as their head scout, and Gainey lured him away when he got hired as GM. Timmins is the man to thank for the current Montreal Canadiens. he is the one behind all the great draft picks of the last 4 years

Isn't funny to watch this draft and hear the comments made by TSN about how this pick was a mistake. The Canadiens have Jose, Huet, and Yan Denis. Duthie asks Bob about the pick after rhyming off those goalies, and Bob talks about Carey and Halak. Fast forward 3 years and who are our goalies? In Bob We Trust
