I just logged out of my 14 day trial, and I noticed a lot of cheating: cloakers killing MAXes with pistols (100 shots in 5 seconds), sweeper shotguns 1-shotting you from 100m, all kinds of lame shit. I logged out when I saw an entire (friendly) continent get hacked: every gen and spawn in every base instantly destroyed, including the captiol & force dome.

Planetside was an awesome game but what SoE needs to acknowledge is that it's important to have a large player base for Mass Online battle games like this. Without the big battles the game isnt that good and you might as well play the battlefield games.
But when it had lots of people it was great, was like being in a really cool virtual war.
it isnt like wow there are no quests from npc or something but there are training missions. U can see in the thirdperson but when u are in the third person u dont see ur crosshair.
The planetside idea was cool, but it needs expansion. We need different planets, space combat, cities, shipbuilding, and better graphics. Planetside on steroids

It was cool when Planetside came out. Really cool. I played for a long time, but slowly it became unpopular and I never really had a good enough rig to run it properly so I slowly dropped outa the scene. There are better games out now. Sorry you missed it, it was a blast :D
The better the videocard, the faster the action, and quality of picture.
The more memory, the faster cpu and network always contribute....and a good platform, I use XP, but have played using Vista, (vista is much slower on my cards, dual nvidea 8600's)
Planetside was an awesome game while I played it, but when I re installed it a few months ago, it froze up on the loading screen. When I restarted my computer, it froze up on the WIndows XP loading screen (no icons, no bar at the bottom), and only the station loading platform came up. As you can imagine this seriously buggered up my comp, in the end I had to re install all the partitions on my computer. Did anyone else get this problem, or something similar? Please comment or get back to me.

Tabula rasa? I heard of it only yestarday. The sign I saw is exactly like the sign which I think is for the fourth empire. Also, black burn, the Lancer (VS anti-vehicle) is good, but I can't get a hang of using it. The striker is, well, beep beep fire fire fire, but you do need to follow the target and the NC phoenix is hard, you have to direct the missile. And as you said guy, PS has survived a heck of a lot.
Essential AV knowledge. Striker - Absolute bollocks, the only thing its good for is scaring off aircraft. Phoenix - Pretty rubbish, extremely annoying, very easy to use. Decimator - Amazing, a hero of AV. - Lancer - God. Just God.

I am in the beta right now and it is not the same as PS, the graphics are much better but its like FPS with components of role roleplaying. You have missions and can roleplay. Basically FPS when you want it but leveling with quests when you don't. The only thing I don;t like is that you cannot go into full 1st person or I haven't figured it out yet. We shall see. I guess I spoke to soon. But NC phoenix fags are still the stupidest shit in the game.
