  • reggae is the marionette to my body...

  • Fucking Amazing :)

  • Nuff ticthing

You could say that bob marley put reggae on the map mainstream and made it popular and kool for young youth of England liking bob marley but personally I found that better artists before bob like Ray Charles bob was the freedom fighter of reggae warrior just my view commercial reggae

  • FUCK that. I'd sell my left nut to see the real Sublime live on their worst day.

  • I love bob marley! <3

  • Who cares which version is better?? or who was the better singer/musician?? music was never meant to be about that it's a shared love. Do you think either of the aforementioned would want this discussion to take place... NO they just want people to enjoy there music which we all do so lets just remember this and them for the love they create. One love

  • when will people realize that bob marley did not make every reggae song ever made?

  • @slashcat77 When will you realize he is the ONLY reason that reggae is as popular as it is today OUTSIDE of Jamaica? All these reggae bands wouldnt be anything had it not been for what he did. Respect. 1luv

  • @khart0126 I respect Bob and understand how important he is to reggae but its just annoying when people find a reggae song and just assume since its reggae that its bob marley. there are tons of other great reggae artists out there like Peter Tosh and Jimmy Cliff

  • This is actually The Wailers, not Bob Marley

  • Marley is best! Though Sublime does a better version of this song IMHO. Thumbs up?

  • i like this version, its dope, but in MY OPINION i think the sublime version is better, i know this is the original and everything, but i just like the sublime one better

  • bob and brad pretty much are my two favorite musicians of all time, but i have to give credit to bob marley, peter tosh, half pint, and the ziggins, for giving brad ideas for about 90% of music

  • You people are seriously comparing Brad Nowell to Bob Marley? Get the fuck outta here

  • @UngratefulLiving420 I was going to say a comment similar to this so thank you. Even though I'm a white guy, all I have to say is "fuckin' white people..."

  • @UngratefulLiving420 Fucking funny. I thought the same thing. I am a So Cal kid who was in my 20's when Sublime hit and I am a fan but comparing Sublime to The Wailers is like saying Whitesnake is better than Led Zeppelin or some shit

  • Sublime + Bob Marley = Nuclear explosion of Reggai awesomeness. Argument over

  • Like others below have said, it doesn't matter who did it better. Bob wrote the song and sublime made their own unique version of it. they're both great songs that's all that matters. Enjoy the music it's beautiful

  • @corruptcop01, it's bradley nowell

  • what is this song from? its sick ive never heard it before. and brad and bob were both legendary. im one of the biggest sublime fans ever... but without bob, sublime wouldnt exist, along with hundreds of other reggae bands. it always goes back to bob marley thats why hes the king of reggae.

  • another crappy song by a crappy singer. dont any of you realize theres talent out there like justin beiber??? HELLOOOO??

  • @TheJBprodigy Hahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahaahahahahahahaahahahaaahahhhahaahahahahahahahahahahahaahah you're funny.

  • @TheJBprodigy Wow....You must be like 7or 8. You'll learn one day what real lyrics are,and who's not gay :)

    (hopefully)

  • 1 persons a rude boy.

  • wat year was this made? it sounds like a 50s or 60s song

  • :D I lovee this ssoong,

  • Arguing on a a BM page>? lol..

  • . . . everyone just needs to shut the hell up smoke a joint and listen to the song. . .

  • What album is this ON??????

  • nice, nice song

  • WHO GIVES A FUCK SMOKE A BOWL OR 5 AND FEEL GOOD AND LISTEN TO SOME MARLEY OR SUBLIME BRAD AND BOB ARE BOTH GREAT AND WONT BE FORGOTTEN

  • How about we just stop arguing who is better, there is no reason for such a thing, stop comparing eachothers faults, we are all human and we have fuck ups, dont hold it against dead men. They both loved Reggae and used it to influence the world and gave us a gift we should cherish because music is a escape from this harsh fucking world we live in, so please, stop all the bickering and just listen and love the music, and be thankful that not everything in this world is fucked up ~Peace~

  • Bradley Knowles was the musical son of Bob Marley. Both are respected by a decent amount of people, and both produced amazing music. /thread

  • @CorruptCop01 hate to sound like a complete sublime dick suck but you spelled his last name wrong.

  • @Youztrollin Ha, it's all gravy in the navy. I'll make sure to spell it correctly from now on.

  • @macjonesss I agree ... Sometimes it was chaos, but somehow they always managed to make sense of it and get back to the pocket eventually ...

  • ami me gustan las dos versiones

los dos se la rifaron en esta cancion

  • People people Bob Marley died because he had cancer. Bob Marley is the legend of Reggae what is sublime legend nothing. They shouldn't even be compared! Bob Marley was talented. He didn't need a band he could of done it solo, but he had the band. You guys should let him R.I.P. half of u guys dont even know what he went through or his life story. I am a Jamaican and ashamed of all of you who waste your time to criticise him. Shame on you who do!

  • @TheViolinchic lol.. yea bob marley could have done it solo.. i wanna hear satisfy my soul without backround singers.. dude you dont know what youre saying.. no one said that brad nowell and sublime were musical geniuses..they were a dub band.. dont you know what that means??? they twisted, and covered songs.. many of them reggae classics.. some argue the wailers' own peter tosh is better than marley.. they were all great.. they all loved sharing music.. i bet you think smoke2jointswasbymarley

  • @TheViolinchic you may be a Jamaican but your a dick suck that has probably looked up everything there is to know about bob marley on the internet

  • what a badass song. love both versions.

  • good point dude

  • @jrawqeast haha i understand what your saying, but Sublime was pretty much completely trashed every time they took the stage and that, in my opinion was something that made them who they were. just a good band that did a little too much partying, well for Brad anyways.

  • @jrawqeast thats cos bradley was off his fuckin face.

  • @jrawqeast what about stand by your van? and stories tales lies and exaggerations has some bad ass live stuff too, sublime may be sloppy but they always do some shit live that is so perfect, something u dont get from any other band

  • @jrawqeast according to a sublime movie i bought, for brad, showing up late to concerts was a given, as well as being drunk.

  • @jrawqeast i dono man.. i respect your opinion.. and i know what you mean.. there is a lot of live shit thats seriously impossible to listen to. cuz he was too fucked up.. but brad did have a lovely, lovely, lovely, voice.. search for hammer sublime.. its only like 2 min long.. but listen to how nice brad's voice is.. when he hit it, he hit it

  • @jrawqeast Im a die fucking hard sublime fan but i have to agree, i mean you'll find some good live shit but most of the time it is garbage

  • @jrawqeast you sir are an idiot

  • @jrawqeast sublime is good live, marley is just better. i mean theyre both great period.

  • @jrawqeast you suck

  • @jrawqeast are you fucking deaf?!?! Sublime live is amazing

  • @jrawqeast agreed. I friggin LOVE Sublime, saw them twice in concert. Bob Marley was far ahead of Sublime, live.

  • @jrawqeast i wanna f-kn slap you for even thinking of saying that!

  • I know I'm about to get bashed really bad, but I don't like Bob Marley. I don't think he's talented or a good singer. Sublime is much better. It's sort of a master/apprentice type of thing. Sure marley is credited for "Making" raegge but sublime made it better.

  • @MMMNUMNUMS yeah, no.

  • Wow, judging my the posts, most of you are idiots. And I'm sorry, but there is a HUGE difference between Nowell and Marley, except that their sinfulness caught up to them in a karmic sorta way. (Brad=junkie/Bob=adulterer) Much respect to both their musical genius though.

  • @JuiceManuce Marley didn't die from adultery, he died of cancer from re-injuring his foot. Brad was no longer a junkie during the time of his death.

And there's nothing wrong with fucking who you want to and doing what ever kind of drug you wish as long as you don't harm anyone.

  • @rafaelz713 Are you kidding me? Brad died of a drug overdose, but yet he wasn't a junkie? Also, Marley's adultery hurt his wife very much. She was devastated knowing her husband was sinning with other women when he was supposed to be a devout Rastafari. "Freedom" is not an excuse to have a lack of self control.

  • no problem, this song is amazing

  • bob marleys look at reggae was that you should put your people your own culture into reggae. brad and sublime are the only ones who ive ever heard really do it. yeah someone know it all might bring up more band names but sublime should be up there with the greats of reggae.

  • Bob Marley is fucking talented and ment to be a reggae icon. BradleyNowell took this reggae icon and added his own style too it... it would be so amazing to see both of them togethger smokin weed and playin reggae music!

  • That's what's goin on in heaven, man.

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • Sublime punk and Brown Ties are the only ones worth listening to here. Get some sense people If you know what its about then you know what its about and you wouldnt do different. People who know.....know and thats it....its a way of life.... not an act...not youtube comments........ Rasta way.... peace love hapiness FREEDOM family live it dont act it. you will know when you die.

  • amen to that

  • is he bob marley? ¬¬

  • who?

  • You people and your petty opinions and differences, when will you learn that nobody gives a fuck about your opinion, not everybody will agree with you so just stop posting your opinions. Both Bob & Brad's versions are amazing why argue over who you think is better?

  • I totally second that. That's why I can't stand reading the posts. Most videos are deluged with belligerent opinion posts that are completely erroneous.

  • @dedcandy wow big words, i bet your smart.

  • @WesleyPipes024 Sorry, that was my pretentious academic cousin who responded to this. He didn't know that stereotypical, ignorant, simpletons are typically the ones who frequent this page. Sorry my for that. Please resume your existence in your little world

  • no reason to argue whether brad or bob are better, theyre both amazing

sit back, hit the bowl and enjoy the fine music

  • hahahaha what yuridival says is so true both bob and the wailers and brad and sublime. i love this punky reggae..

  • This version is by far better than Sublimes... without a doubt it flows so much better and just gives me those chills. Sublimes version is alright but it doesn't sound as passionate and more real than Marley something that is a lil' hard to explain.

  • Comment removed

  • Bobs versions are sicc but Bradley took this one and added the fast rappy verses, Bob doesnt do this, Brad did the same thing with What i got from half pint, but he adds his own fast paced verses. He also does it with whats my number by toots and the maytals, Nobody can do the fast rappy verses quite like Bradley, besides Matisyahu of course

  • ya but dude the song that sublime made wouldnt have been made if bob didnt do it first. i love sublime but bob is just.... bob u cant replace him same with jimi hundreds of people cover their songs but not one has past them

  • Well put Yuri

  • while you guys keep arguing wheter Bob or Brad are the great one, they share a joint somewhere laughing over us

  • Amen brothah

  • Comment removed

  • lol youre awesome, man.

  • amen to that two great lyricists and guitarists are in a never ending jam session in eternity and we'll be able to join them someday till then ill roll one for bob and brad and keep rockin

  • @Yurividal Amen to that my brother!

  • cant fight against dem youth

    cuse we strong

    respect bob

  • WE GONNA RULE THIS LAND

  • i like sublimes version better as well better instrumentals

  • annd believe me when i say, i Lovve Sublime!!

  • people tend to forget that with out The Wailers (Bob and his band), Sublime (Brad and his band) would not have been soo inspired to produce great qaulity reggae music with true feelings and passion.

in other words, Sublime is like an offspring of Bob Marley & The Wailers.

  • dont get me wrong bob is good n i love him for this song, but sublime put way more feeling into it n i gatta give it to sublime for making this song better =/ dorry bob, Bradey made this 118912739218738989 times better ;P

  • I don't know if you guys know the political significance of this song. Bob Marley actually lived in the ghettos of Jamaica. Do you guys know what this song is about? OH, and this was recorded at studio one... try doing the whole song on ONE TRACK, then tell me that sublime's version is better.

  • Amen

  • Sublime is good no great, but Bob Marley will ALWAYS come before them

  • Love Bob Marley so amazing but i definately like sublimes version better

  • psh sublime aint got nothing over bob marley

  • love it

  • cant fight against the youth!!

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • true enough

  • where you think brad would get his inspirations

  • right on!

  • sweet. i like the sublime version better cuz well thats my kinda music
