@tamerlano236 I wish people wouldn't express their personal opinion as a statement of fact! Spanos sings beautifully, but Jaroussky's version seems to me to be more expressive and a more appropriate interpretation of the role from the opera.
@MrFpam It's not a fact but my personal opinion. You have yours. Everybody only exchanges opinions. The fact is only that Mitridate, re di Ponto was composed by Mozart. If it's a masterpiece or not is a matter of opinions. Whose version is better is only a matter of personal preferences.
@tamerlano236 I'm not sure that whether Mitridate is a masterpiece or not is a matter of opinion, but certainly you are right about personal preferences. It's just that you said "the best version is definitely Nicholas Spanos's". That doesn't leave much room for discussion!
@Shivaelf No, this register is achieved through technique not voice condition. If you hear him speak you will see that his voice is perfectly normal, and in fact, quite deep.
Love Jochen Kowalski's performance in this role.

I'm deeply moved by this aria every time I watch it.
Mozart was a genius even this young. And Jaroussky+Christie together... The best you can wish.
