The pattern isn't that hard to remember, pretty hard to play though.

It's basically a 4/4 beat with the hands alternating 8th notes between the ride ride and bell. then beneath it is a pattern that goes like this.

(base=b, snare =s)

bbbs bbbs bbbs bbs bbs bbs bbbs bbbs bbbs bbs bbs repeat

So 3x bbbs then 3x bbs then 3x bbbs then 2x bbs and repeat

this makes the new ''group'' of notes come in 1 segment earlier creating the weird effect.

I'm not sure where it changes to the last part, count it

From what I can tell, there's a definite pattern-he's very consistent when he plays the live gigs. I've worked out some of it; but to be honest, I just wanted the easy option. Fuck it- I'll just learn it all.

For the first part of the intro, its three clusters of four sixteenth notes, and then three clusters of two sixteenth notes followed by the same pattern except only two clusters of two 16th notes, and then you just alternate between them. Once the tom sounding drums come in I'm completely lost though. Either theres no pattern there or its insanely complex.
