What a bunch of prudish hypocrites, ridiculing art they have never even seen. I've seen his photographs, and they are actually pretty cool and certainly art. I'm sure neither Dennis nor Bill would accept criticism of their "art" from someone who wouldn't even give them the courtesy of listening to their acts before judging them. A description isn't enough, like judging a gourmet souffle by the description "a plate of lactic secretions of hooved mammals". You must taste before judging.

Since when is it the doctor's responsibility to know when she was impregnated? The misdiagnosis is not the doctor's, it's hers! The fetus is her responsibility. If she had tracked the timing, she could have had the abortion quite legally. She had more clues that the doctor did re fetal development.

I say find for the clinic, chastize her lawyer, and find the father (he had something to do with it).

even though this is 9 years old, i knew dennis would digress into an anti-choice slant. the woman having 4 or 40 abortions doesn't have anything to do with the point. the point was about the case, and not an referendum on abortion rights. the woman can sue for malpractice if it existed. that's why trials are for. it is absurd that she thinks she has the right to sue someone for her child's expenses during rearing. sue the f'n dad if you want some money for that.

Absolutely right except for the fact that she did want to abort the child. She didn't want it and didn't want to pay to bring him or her up. If it can be proved that it was malpractice then she should be compensated for expenses until the age of 18 but definitely not for college. Nobody can prove their child will go to college, in fact the only indication we have that a child will be more likely to go to college in the US is income and if she's suing for it she can't afford it.

I am not judging it lightly or with reverence. Art is subjective not empirical so no one can really assign a value to it. There is no Richter scale or any other metric for the quality of art. If someone thinks "Dogs Playing Poker" is a profound statement you can't prove them wrong. My point is that freedom to express yourself in art and being paid by society (NEA) to do it are two different things. Who determines who gets grants to make art? On what criteria?

She is the head of the NEA? I am a Atheist so I have no religious motivations. The NEA funded a guy who made "piss christ". Basically he pissed into a cup and put a cross in it. He had an NEA grant. A comedian is simply a person who tells stories from their own perspective to entertain. When his views change, his audience can change, adapt, or leave.

Sometimes the routine changes a the audience's perspective and that leads to great comedians (Carlin & Pryor).
