I don't mean this to be offensive, I'm legitimately curious: Is it common for a group like this to have such a large male attendance at concerts in Japan? It seems to me (American) that the music is, for lack of a better word, "girly."

That's not to say I didn't sit through the entire video. The song is oddly hypnotizing.

@SupahCola Legit question. Most of these groups get a male fan base between 30 and 45. If you look at videos of MM fan club tours in hawaii try to find a female.

It's the cutsy appeal as opposed to the skank appeal in north america.

no. that's yaguchi mari, and she's the leader

mika was at one point the tallest at 1.5m and that's why she usually wore a slightly different costume than the other members

however, when ai takahashi was added, the height rule was i guess shattered so to speak because she's actually taller than 150 cm

@Princesa747 I think they just gave up on the height restriction after Mari Yaguchi dropped from the group although Yaguchi herself said they might heighten it after Kago and Tsuji started growing taller and were worried they'd have to leave mini Moni if they get over 150cm. They needed somebody strong to replace her or the groups popularity would die and Ai Takahashi was the best choice since she has one of the best singing voices in Morning Musume.

Yes, it does. :] The name is actually Jan-Ken-Pon, but to be cute, Minimoni adds the y and says it Jan-Ken-Pyon. It's basically the Japanese version of rock, paper, scissors, but as far as I know, the words don't mean that specifically.

Pyon is a sfx for general hoppy things, not only bunnies. It's comparable to the english "boing" or "sproing". They use it in the end of jankenpon because it was kind of a signature word for Minimoni.
