  • I think my riding lawnmower has more horsepower than the 6.2, but I love my 6.2l M1009 CUCV blazer. damn thing will go anywhere.

  • My dads old 86' 6.2l g20 van BURNED RUBBER once, although not on purpose. We were trying to pull our 24' boat out of our very horrible cracked up 2nd driveway. He burned rubber to death trying to pull that 6000Ib boat out. WE ended up using a board or 2 under the tires LOL!

AS FOR WHAT SOME HAVE SAID about black smoke. Besides on how well it runs, I think it also depends on the timing of the engine. Did you add a K&N air filter, Bigger exhaust, turn up fuel pump? It all adds up a lot.

  • røyklag fint den der ;)

  • norway!!<3

  • Thats a nice K5 man

  • har du k5'en ennda?

  • We used to have a red and black 82' with a modified semi truck fuel injector and airbag shocks on rear. Could tow anything (at slower speeds due to no turbo) and got 30+ mpg.

It had 400,000 + miles on it too. It was one heck of a truck. You just couldn't kill it!!! Sorta like a toyota i guess.

  • hahaha nice truck! I love the all black look. I have an 89 S15 Jimmy that i blacked out. Check it out!

  • It's a diesel allright, listen to the idle at the start. The 6.2s ran incredibly lean at full load when stock, like this one is. You're just too used to seeing turned up turbodiesels here at YouTube! :)

  • this is true.

  • Yes, both the TP and the main fuel screw. It's a pain to do though, and the intake has to be off to adjust the TPP.

  • Good Stuff.

  • How do you mean the TP? I know about the main screw but what is the TP cheers

  • The transfer pump pressure is adjusted where the fuel enters the IP. You must remove the pipe and fitting to get to it. Don't go overboard on this one, roughly 1 turn per 60K miles is plenty.

  • Thanks for that advice-turning TP up made it far more responsive from an idle also did 1/6 turn on fuel screw unbelievable difference might have to repost my 0-60 video! so much fun thanks once again!

  • its not a turbo diesel

  • @cam92rss He never said it was a turbo diesel. The k5 6.2 DD wasn't turbo from the factory but there are turbo kits available.

  • @Xx69roadrunnerxX

Its a diesel, it doesnt have a turbo thats why it doesnt blow the black smoke. I have a 85 K5 no turbo but my tires wont spin cause they are 35 in Super Swamper boggers...

  • @supermanndopey Haha, not having a turbo has absolutely nothing to do with why it doesnt blow black smoke. In fact, a naturally aspirated diesel should smoke more than a turbocharged diesel, because the NA engine will have a much richer fuel air mixture. Boost from a turbo helps burn fuel more completely (less smoke) by introducing more air into the engine to burn the fuel.

This Detroit Diesel (GM) 6.2L diesel doesnt smoke much because its fueling is very conservative.

  • @supermanndopey My original comments were more than 2 years old, back when I didnt know anything about diesel. Now those comment are absolutely hilarious to me!! Im an extremely fast learner.

  • smokin sweet k5 man. check out my skull crusher bro.

  • Are you going to get a Banks sidewinder turbo kit?

  • No, it's just a truck a friend of mine had a few years ago, we don't really know what happened to it after it was sold.

  • nice fuzzy dice!

  • What year? The Jet Black with the red GMC logo is great looking!

  • Nice Truck. must be hard to break traction with less than 200 HP and generaly low lbs of torque. Good job though!
