Allen should have been sent to the principal's office for making fun of Linda; perhaps even been suspended from school to cool his heels. Linda is much more mature than Allen in this episode, and she's definitely not a dunce. Allen was a cute kid but he really did the show no justice. Good thing he shuffled off to Mr. Belvidere; let those people take care of him there.

I feel bad for Linda! When I was younger, I had a disability too and kids were so mean about it! But this episode shows that there ARE people out there who won't judge you about it. This is why Punky is always going to be my hero! Thanks for the upload Nostalgia1979!

LOL! Stop hatin' on Alan! He was the BEST character on this show! The kid was hilarious! The best was when they had to learn CPR and he kept making jokes the whole time and Mike kicks him out of class. It was hysterical! ALAN RULES! The kid who plays him did a REALLY good job with his character!

I remember that they had referred to her as being "mentally retarded," but this was in the mid-1980's, so probably by now they have more accurate terminology for her condition. Today she would probably be classified as having mild MR. She might also have a form of autism.

I have cerebral Palsy and some people are really mean.. A bunch of teens made fun of my legs and the way I hold a fork and made me cry when I was 12. I would have beat Alen up for being so mean... The teacher should have sent Alen to the office...

We need more role models like Punky. My students in Special ed make fun of the OTHER kids in special ed. They are all behind academically- yet make fun when OTHERS make mistakes. Just don't make shows like this anymore...

Even though I think Allen is a funny character, I didn't like him here. i felt so bad for Linda. I worked as an Intern in my highschool, with kids who had severe learning disabilities and it was very rewarding.

great episode though. i love Punky.

Also, Linda reminds me alot of Sandy Duncan.

His look he gives Allen is like Punky's, a look of disgust. I love how Mike gives Allen an assignment to give a report to the class on the special olympics, and Allen all of the sudden gets very nervous. If I'd been Allen I would pissed myself when Mike tells him to stand up and come over to him to recieve his punishment assignment. Mike Fulton was an awesome character on Punky Brewster.

This was the one episode where I didn't care for Casey Ellison (AKA) Allen. I love how Soleil's eyes can be friendly, but in this case, she glares at Allen with the look of death. You can just see and feel the disdain in the way she glares at him. I also like the serious look on Mike Fulton's face at Allen's comment for the same reason. Mike Fulton played by T.K. Carter was one of my favorite Punky Brewster characters besides Punky.
