How are you knuckleheads going to tell Jack Johnson that he's playing his guitar to close to the neck when he wrote this song? This is Jack Johnson, folks.
You're doing something different than what my guitar teacher told me to do ... you're only using the frets closer to the end of the neck, and you're finger-picking instead of strumming.
Seems to work for you, but the way I do it sounds similar.
@MoonShadowWolfe Dude you know the guy is this video is Jack Johnson and not the guy that put the video up right?? Im just wondering cause if you dont then you need to look up more songs if you do then sweet!!
Gorgeous voice and awesome playing skills! Would you mind messaging me the chords? I think I've pretty much got it from watching you, but I just want to make sure. Thanks!!! :)

you can't be serious your asking 10.000.00 for this guitar. I have this guitar it's a dx1r martin that list for 719.00. who the hell you think this guy is The great guitar player in the world Tony Rice. tell you the truth i never heard of Jack Johnson, he's no 10.000.00. i like to have what the hell your smoking lol...........
I have that guitar too. It is one of my favorite guitars I've ever played on. Also Jack usualy uses a Cole Clark, or at least he did for many years. They are awesome guitars built in Austrailia. Jack is one of the best singer/songwriters of our era. He brings a brilliance that no one else can really compare to. Simply amazing.
you know what iritates me the most about the french? NONE of them speak english; i do speak french, and I agree with this user, but for f* sake, post in english when your on an international website =)
Driftwood floats after years of erosion..incoming tides touches roots to expose them...WOW.. really, this guy really is clever with lyrics, powerful but simple..amazing
Jack Johnson is actually a sponsored artist of an Australian company called Cole Clarke, and plays mostly their Fat Lady 2 Model, though he has been known to play Matin Martin and Tayler guitars too, and his 76 telecaster
Incorrect - Jack does not "almost always play martins"; before Jack began playing Cole Clarks (of which he owns 8, and he payed for all of them himself), he played Maton Guitars, which is another Australian based company. This was probably based on some influence from Ben Harper, who played a Maton while Jack toured with Him after Jack's first record.
As for the DXR, I'm pretty sure if Jack played a Martin he wouldn't play a bottom of the line Martin. This was probably around for the video only.
its seems like he does it a little bit faster in this version....either way, he makes it sound great, thanks jack, i feel like im alive b/c of your music
doesnt mater how many times i watch this..it makes you wonder how someone this talented could make such a beuitiful song, i mean i play guitar and find it very hard to make a tune..this is such an amazingly put together, song..just wow! the kind of tune that sticks in your mind, the kind of song that memories are made of...enough said!
