  • 2012 and Ive just discovered this fantastic musician. Thank you so much

  • a beautiful song. am i wrong in assuming theres reference to his illness in the lyrics?

  • The more I listen to Ronnie Lane and Slim Chance, the more I love them. I feel

sorry for all the people that have no idea what they are missing:>(( Let's make

the world a happier place and tell someone about Ronnie and Slim Chance:>))

Wish I had known about them say.....about 38 years sooner. Better late than

never! :>)) THX FOR THE SUPERB DOWNLOADS!!! Also THX bb for the info on Slim Chance reforming... been wondering about them :>)) MGBUA ((<:

  • Slim Chance have reformed and will be showcasing their first single at The Borderline on Sept. 23rd. Five original members play the music of Ronnie Lane and they are a brilliant live band....not to be missed!

  • Excellent stuff- if you ever see Mickey Kemp and Darryl Bath- ask em to do a coupla Ronnie's songs- they are great versions! Slambo.

  • i forgot the noerthen soul scene that also followed,

  • Ronnie, you legend! a true poet

  • Well a lot of the mod bands became pretty psyche/ hippy by the late '60's. Look at the flowery shirts, floppy leather hats, yellow neck scarves, and begal collars the Small Faces where wearing in the late '60's. There was nothing really mod or

R & B about the Small Faces by the time they were doing songs like Itchycoo Park and Green Circles.

  • @pigjesus well most mods either got into psych/folk and grew long hair or got into regae/ska and shaved their heads and became skinheads.

  • God bless you Plonk. You was the greatest,so sadly missed. :-(

  • A superb songwriter...at such a very young age (his stuff with the Small Faces). Makes me laugh when people say he was a Hippy! The 3 greatest songs of 1967 didn't have a whiff of Hippy about them....Waterloo Sunset, Pictures of Lilly and of course the magisterial Tin Soldier (co-wrote by the late, great, Ronnie L).

  • God bless ya Ronnie.

Best thing to come out of England since fish n chips!

  • Happy Birthday Ronnie! Thinkin' of you!

  • What a fantastic song. I never heard this one before. Amazingly sad! Plonk waas such a great talent!

  • what a great song...etc

    a big THANKS

  • God bless Ronnie Lane. He was one of the greatest

  • he had too much humour to be a hippie.

  • i guess that makes him a happy (?)

  • In the 60's the hippies on the west coast were too serious, that's why Ronnie and Steve were a breath of fresh air.

  • Thankyou for posting 5***** stars

  • No one can do sad as well as this fella! God Bless the Plonk!

  • Yes, so sad yet so joyous as well.

  • This one reminds me of another great who left too soon,(the fellow who played lead guitar for a certain mop top band from Liverpool).Thank you for putting up this Ronnie stuff ,I really enyoy it.

  • What a great, talented man. I've been a fan of the Small Faces for years (as well as the Faces). Unbeknowst to him, Ronnie Lane taught me how to play bass. But I am just getting into his solo stuff, thanks to this song.

  • Wonderful.

    from Spain

  • I've stumbled upon Ronnie Laine - is this a third artist that Paul Weller ripped/ based his career upon, after the Small Faces and the Who????? Clearly there was only one true Ronnie Laine!

  • Very underrated due to Rods popularity,RIP Ronnie

  • could listen to his music for hours, great musician and very talented.

  • great son & combo ... braVO

  • I met Ronnie on the travelling show thing ,,,, in Scotland ...Falkirk ///was a great night with the band .. ... REAL music ,,,s still have poster... but real good songs ...thanks \RON .. REGARDS from Scotland ..... a good geezer . x x x

  • @lescot2000 lucky you..greetings from Livingston..I used to work in Falkirk..Great people there..

  • Ronnie was friends with my Dad who has many amusing stories of a proper genius :)

  • Ronnie Lane? The king of the hippies?

    You must be joking!!

Ronnie was too honest to be a hippie!

    Love this song, great harmonica.

    Thanks for posting - wonderful!

  • Spot on. The guy went from being a mod to a rural troubadour with a spot of psych in between. Never a hippie.

  • Great song! God bless you, Ronnie. We miss you sooooo much...
