Hey I thought the song was great and lyrics are very good. As far writing more cheerful songs I wouldn't worry about writing cheeful melodies. I would rather listen to a meaninful and lyrical song than a generic cheery song sometimes the best songs come from the need to overcome seperation from others, materials, or even yourself. Keep writing in your own individual style
