this song is completely about the devil yeah...but its not sacrilegious..."The Lord of Light" is a reference to the "Morning Star", which in terms translates as 'Lucifer', the name that belonged to the devil before he fell from heaven (as he was an angel before) ...its basically about the pitfalls of mankind, and how we as people give into temptation and comit sins, the lyrics being "free your soul and let it fly, give your life to the lord of light"...at least thats my opinion anyway

I was just saying that if there were a god, surely he wouldnt let us do this crap to each other. Also all you have to do is look at the enviromental disasters that are NOT caused by humans, even if we do make them occur more frequently. Look at africe, its not all our fault...

I am not blaming God, as I do not believe he/ her exists. He will not be back, why would he ever leave.We make our own problems worse, and cause alot of problems, but not all are caused or made worse by man. Some seem to be inherent. These are not our fault, and if god exists, they wouldnt be here.

Is this the one that is eternally wise and because of his omniscience knows the consequence of every action, and thus must have known before he created people, exactly what they would do? Here's an interesting thought. Instead of the Lord of Light being God, what about the Lord of Light being Apollo, the Greek God of light. I don't think that this song is pertaining to my patron God Apollo, but I'm just putting something new out there.

@Reverentpolytheist in this song. the Lord of Light is Lucifer ( aka . the fallen angel, the devil etc etc . ) lucifer literally means carrier of light .. along those lines. the song basically questions that maybe lucifer was the one who got the raw deal and shouldnt have maybe got the fate that he got... yeah bruce wrote the lyrics. right up his alley.

I believe that the Greek Gods are the ones who created us, and I find Christianity completely hypocritical and a scam for power. Anyways, this is a great song. Note: Any idiot Christians who say I'm going to end up in Hell, you're just another prime example of someone trying to gain power through fear. Note 2: Any Christians contacting me saying that I'm wrong and Christianity is true, prove it. If you say Bible, I say the Theogony. Once again, this is a great song.

"God" is simply the answer man made to a question we could not answer. If science existed back then to the extent it does today, your religion would not exist. This is because it is not crediable; it is only given power through ignorance. Religion is a tool used to give power to a few men who were clever enough to manipulate everyone by using a question, and killing/scaring everyone who did not believe in their answer. Religion is a sham.

@metalzombiebass Well... Religion and God, "is a good excuse" not just for good, which you shouldnt need an excuse for, but also for evil, which people have done far more often. How many people have started wars and slaughtered innocents simply "because God told me to".
Religion has become used by corrupt people so often that religion itself has become corrupted and should be purged. Personally, I have faith that God exists and will judge me when I die. Faith is all you need. and Iron Maiden.

I know full well that its peoples own twisted interpetations of the bible that caused them to do such things. I still distrust organized, run-by-man, religion.
