@KiernanMooney dude, i have the solution to that problem. depending on what type of hat stand. i took the spikes from an old double pedal and secured them into the bottom of my hat stand. underneath the rubber, on the legs. i never had that problem again.
you used to have a video up called jazz/samba and you were playing to some jazz music and then some saba style music i think you made. what happened to it? can you repost it!?!
This is fantastic!!! Technicality, feeling, individualism. This is what I look for in a drum solo and what so many young players lack. Keep up the good work man. This was a joy to watch.
i love the complaints drummers give about "groove and feel" a solo is not accompanied by a bass line so the groove is not needed. it is rhythmic expression. for the dolts that think the drum is just a metronome for the rest of the band to play over, i sigh. the drums are just as musical as any other instrument with the correct mentality. i personally love master Danny Carey's playing from TOOL. he doesn't groove, he creatively breaths life in the drums, in VOLTO, thats is where he grooves.
Sick dudee! That hihat thing in the beginning is a killer. I know it´s damn hard to keep up while fooling around with hands :) Hey btw, how small is your bass drum?
wow. all of this is freaking amazing but does anyone thing the thing he was doin with his left foot with the hihat didnt musically fit all the fills he was doing with his hands.....i mean its epic to be able to do that rhythym and do all that at the same time but.....idk, i think some of the rhythms clashed with the hi hat pattern.
today i heard that mike portnoy left dream theater and i came back to this video to say you should totally try out for them. your drum solos are more entertaining than mikes for improvising. (from a guitarists opinion)
@ElephantsGerald I disagree, i think it fits together very well - and as far as drum solos go, pretty fucking groovy. Look at some of joey jordisons solo's, they are an example of how to write a disjointed solo.
@BLdrummer740 How would you create a drum roll? I'm afraid I can't drum so I have to use virtual drums. I tried using some 16th note strokes but I can't seem to make it sound real.

It's technical. It's got some ostinato, But where is the groove? Where is the feel? It comes across, in my opinion, as feeling disjointed.

@BLdrummer740 How would you create a drum roll? I'm afraid I can't drum so I have to use virtual drums. I tried using some 16th note strokes but I can't seem to make it sound real.
RsGhost1 1 year ago
@RsGhost1
Depending on what you're using ... you might not be able to recreate the drum roll.
My best advice is search on how to get a "Buzz" roll on your Vdrums. If you can't find anything on that then using 32nd notes and creating a double-stroke on each note of the 32nd notes should accurately replicate a drum roll ... you might have to make adjustments for slower tempos.
BLdrummer740 1 year ago
@BLdrummer740 I see thanks, I'm using beatcraft so I should be able to do what you said. Have you got any tips on what volume each stroke should be? If all volumes are the same it will just sound like a rattle instead of a drum roll.
RsGhost1 1 year ago
@RsGhost1
Ha! Acoustica Beatcraft is awesome!
I used to use that.
For the roll, all of your volumes should be at about a 25%.
