The one about the guy with two cell phones driving got a chuckle from me. That argument might hold some weight, but then you look at the fact that major oil producers like Iran (1974), Venezuela (1970), Libya (1970), Iraq (1979), Russia (1987) and Kuwait (1972) also had their production peak decades ago. These are countries that don't give a rats ass about environmental regulations, they just want to make as much money as possible.

I said AMERICAN production has decreased. World production is still increasing, but the only major producers that have yet to peak are Canada, Saudi Arabia, China, Brazil, the UAR and Qatar. You realize as oil gets harder to get, it gets more expensive. Sure we'll be able to get oil from the bottom of the ocean, but you'll be filling up your car at 10$ a gallon.

Wasefulness and intentional damage to the planet is sinful. However CO2 is not a pollutant. It's a natural function of our planet's symbiotic relationship between its varied lifeforms. BTW, I live in an industrialized city and my lungs are just fine.

CO2 may be natural, but there are also natural ways to regulate it, such as plants converting it to oxygen, our cars and factories however create it artificially, very rapidly with other impurities and that can upset this natural balance, causing unpredictable effects.

The truth is that CO2, both natural and artificial makes up an infinitesimally small fraction of the "greenhouse gases" in our atmosphere, the largest percentage being water vapor. Try regulating that. People are waking up the fact that they have been lied to. Global warming is nothing more than something to line the pockets of elitists like Algore.

There is a big difference between water vapor and carbon emissions (and nature has its own ways of regulating water vapor). Algore is a hypocritical mad man capitalizing of science.

We have enough inside our own boarders to practically eliminate our dependence on other sources at current consumption levels. However Obama's administration ties the hands of our oil companies while loaning money that we don't have to other countries to develop their oil industries. Coal is plentiful, can be burned cleanly and cheap, but Obama wants to "bankrupt" the coal industry (his words).

US domestic oil production peaked in 1970, nearly 40 years before Obama took office. Since then, it's declined 36% and will continue to do so because the funny thing about science and mathematics is that it's true whether or not you believe in it.
Now, world oil production is beginning to plateau. Production will falter as demand keeps increasing and the price will keep on rising. Unless a revolutionary alternative can be created, civilization as we know it will slowly collapse

Production has declined not because of a lack of supply, but a lack of access to get at it. That lack of access is the direct result of the creation of agencies such as the EPA and Dept. of Energy. Those agencies do things like let Shell spend $1.7 billion, mostly with them for permits and surveys and then pull their leases at the last minute.

That argument might hold some weight, but then you look at the fact that major oil producers like Iran (1974), Venezuela (1970), Libya (1970), Iraq (1979), Russia (1987) and Kuwait (1972) also had their production peak decades ago. These are countries that don't give a rats ass about environmental regulations, they just want to make as much money as possible.
Blaming the EPA sounds plausible, but when you look at the rest of the world you realize it's nothing but pure deception

Besides, I think somewhere I clarified that the production of "easy to get at" oil is what peaked. There is still as much left that isn't as easy to get at as has ever been used. Those other countries have their problems, like a backward theocracy, but ours is the EPA.

I said AMERICAN production has decreased. World production is still increasing, but the only major producers that have yet to peak are Canada, Saudi Arabia, China, Brazil, the UAR and Qatar. And their gains from year to year are beginning to decrease, meaning they are approaching the top of the bell curve.
You realize as oil gets harder to get, it gets more expensive. Sure we'll be able to get oil from the bottom of the ocean, but you'll be filling up your car at 10$ a gallon.
