  • stop teaming up with his parents, he was a sick fucking asshole who, at the end, deserved hits with the fucking fists, he killed his fucking grandmother, hamsters, fucked around with his baby sister, his father, his mother who had natal depression, acted as if he was sad over the grandmother's dead, yes, that shit means, no matter age, yes you deserve to be hit over all the pain you have caused others.

  • awesome movie

  • If I was the farther I would of curve stomped that little cunt.

  • 6:25 ^^ just for my reference didn't like the ending still nice lil tune. Kid shoulda gotten the belt. slapping in the face nah, but meh bloody movie is a tragedy.

  • (The way the mover quy lookz at the quinea piq)... Like "eeh, Wtf.." Lol

  • BEWARE OF THE JOBBERWOCKEY.... WHAT???? o___O lmao

  • Sam Rockwell says 'Joshua' funny.

like, 'joshOOHah! joshOOHah!' hahahaha. still love him, though. ;)

i have *got* to see this!

  • @lexikalfanfic What?

  • @CuriousorArrogant Oh, I was joking around, because I had just watched Joshua. Ignore the comment. It was said tongue in cheek instead of saying "I like this movie". Sarcasm and tone of voice are hard to get on the internet, my bad. Sorry if you got confused. :) A bit too many beers that night and a bit too jokey...

  • @lexikalfanfic lol I don't even remember what I was saying "what" to, lol. Its all good, silliness on both parties.

  • That uncle is worth than useless... amazing how dull and stupid he is. The kid has to spell everything out before he starts to clue in. That's the creepiest part of the movie.

  • Great movie. But Jesus, I love how easily kids get off these days. In the 70s and 80s, any kid that pulled that would have had two black eyes as a matter of course. I just had to smile like that and I would have been licking at stitches for months.

  • Joshua is naughty boy. lol

his father (sam ) already quite patient with him !!!

  • How could the dad fall for such a ridiculous trap! the boy was blatantly setting him up. Shit the kid weren't that smart, the dad was just a moron

  • "dont you know - never beat up your kid in public on the weekend!"

hahahahaha what a sarcastic fuckin comment! LOL :p i would smack him just for that!

  • the father had every right to clip the child in the ear and slap him in the face but after the boy said "no one will ever love you" the father lost control and just went too far...and got falsely accused of child abuse...

The childs drawings were like something he saw out of a book about the holocaust.

  • @ThePearlofeire I have to disagree with you. He had no right to slap his child like that at all. That type of abuse was way over the top. I think he drew those drawings for the psychologist because he knew the psychologist would suspect abuse and he knew he would be taken away from his parents and that's what he wanted. He didn't fit in with those parents and they obviously didn't love him, which is evident by the way they ignore his existence. He just wanted to be with his uncle.

  • @DemonoidPhenomenon1 Yes while I can see your point of view that his parents were seemingly indifferent towards him,in real life there are no perfect parents and his mother was suffering from post natal depression. It might be hard to believe but there are parents who aren,t touchy feely like something out of TV series "seventh heaven" particularly outside of middle class America and this isn,t abnormal.

  • @DemonoidPhenomenon1 There are many different ways of seeing this film and as its fiction, most opinions can be seen as equally valid but for the boy to falsely claim that he was being physically abused wasn,t justified either. The boy laughed at the father when he saw that the father had lost his temperand hit him, because this is what the boy(Joshua) wanted,

  • @ThePearlofeire Right, and I was thinking that he claimed to be abused because he knew he would be taken away and that's what he wanted. He wanted to get away from those parents because he didn't think they loved him.

  • he wanted his father to hit him in public to make it look like his father was a physical abuser who hits Joshua all of the time (but doesn,t actually hit Joshua all of the time) so that the father would be taken away from the boy,s life. Granted the father was wrong for striking out but it was an understandable reaction which was provoked.

  • In this film all the individuals in the family are dysfunctional,so I was thinking Joshua (biologically) inherited his negative personality from his mother and perhaps his father as well.

Then when the woman in the park pulled him away,Joshua put on the pained expression after laughing.

  • @DemonoidPhenomenon1 dude...he killed his grandmother, his dog, and like four hamsters, not to mention did something fucked up to his mother and tried to kill his sister. you have to be kidding me, the little fucker deserved a hell of a lot more than a beating. how are people possibly defending him here? the premise of the movie is that hes a sociopath... completely psychotic.

  • @Guild176 It didn't show him kill the grandmother or the dog onscreen. Don't just assume he did it. They could have both been accidental deaths. As for the mother, she deserved it. She was a terrible mother who didn't seem to care about her son at all. If he did try to kill his sister, which I'm not so sure he did, then you can blame the parents for that too. They made it obvious the daughter was the child they favored, so Joshua resented her for that and it caused him to hate her.

  • @DemonoidPhenomenon1 You don't fucking do any of this shit just because of that, yes, a baby deserves a bit more attention to begin with, of course, and yes he did kill her.

  • @Guild176 He could have reasoned that if he got rid of his sister, maybe his parents would finally give him the attention and show the love and affection that they showed her. That is something every child deserves. If wanting to know that someone cares whether you're alive or dead makes one psychotic, then we're all psychotic because those are things we were all born wanting.

  • @Guild176 They defend him, because while it is true that he was a sick shit, he only became like that because he wanted more praise from his piano work, even though he got a shitload at first then got none, but they DID give her a lot of attention.

I am on your side though.

  • When I've listen to this movie, the song at the end gave me shivers...

  • OMG!!! My name is Joshua :OOO (i swear my name is Joshua) i searched Joshua because my cousin found a song with her name!! (i was just curious what will come out when i type my name in ) !! :OOO

  • POOR SAM!!! and now POOR LILY!!! :(

  • I also thought the uncle had planned everything too... but then i realized that it was only THE EVIL CHILD...

  • super cheesey piano scene though. Cringeworthy x

  • i don't think he was evil. i think he was very smart and all kids do what they have to do to get what they want he wanted his uncle so he got rid of the parrents creepy but smart

  • @thuqchiqabrunette He killed his fucking grandma... what are you saying lol

  • @Guild176 well yearh total nutcase but evil i don't think so :D

  • epic film

  • OOO and the acting was really good all around 2 thumbs up

  • wow everyone is saying the parents sucked ok ok i will admit the mom was a total wackjob from the start but the father i believe really did love joshua and cared for him. but i think after having a hard job and dealing with his wife and having to deal with a new born baby and then also dealing with joshua is alot to deal with. But in the end i do think that joshua is truly evil and i think his uncle was just going to be his next victim

  • 7:56 lol its tiger woods

  • was anyone else really happy when he waskicking the fuck out of joshua ahah , i didnt fully understand this movie especially the ending it kinda mad him look gay for his uncle which is a bit disturbing , and im sure this has so many comments recently because we all watched it last night haha

  • inique n inkt it ovbo you dinna hav kids theres nothing more stress full than a new born u pair a tossers if josh was my kid id a hit him to after what he done!!!

  • You know what, I think the uncle was the mastermind behind all of this. He probably twisted and molded Joshua all these years so he could have the son he always wanted.

  • love this movie . outstanding performance by vera and sam

    (but joshua ???????????? is unbelievable)

بصراحه فيلم اكثر من رائع يستحق المشاهده

  • Some people on here make me laugh saying the parents were bad, that he didn't feel loved. Watch a bit of Dexter and you will get it :) Killing the animals was just going to be the beginning, he showed classic signs of a serial killer. Great film!

  • @michellesi83 I know. If killing your grandma, trying to kill your sister, switching your mother's pills, and gutting your pets doesn't make you psycho... I don't know what does. Some people =/

  • This kid is so good!

  • y did the guniea pig die?

  • nobody ever called me daddy... actually thats not true

  • The ending always makes me cry. It shows that Joshua felt that he didn't belong with his parents because they weren't very good people and didn't love him. He felt that he belong with his uncle instead of them. I think all along that his bizarre behavior was a show just just as a desperate attempt for his parent's attention and when that didn't work, he was going to anything possible to get away from them, which is why he drew those pictures for the psychiatrist. He wasn't evil to me.

  • @DemonoidPhenomenon1 Yeah, killing your own grandmother definitely isn't evil.

  • @Keriksen7 We never actually see him kill her on screen, so there's no proof he actually did that. It could have been a coincidental accident for all we know.

  • @DemonoidPhenomenon1 Nah, he did.

  • @barricader6 Nah, he didn't. Innocent until proven guilty, and he was never proven guilty.

  • @DemonoidPhenomenon1

he did kill his grandmother,he held her hand in scond she fell Jashua sapose to be a sick child.he got his parants out of the way,his uncel freeked out when he put things together.anyway this child is a great actor i like him.

  • @xxxMarzikinnsxxx As I said before, we never actually see him physically push her, so it may just be a coincidence. We can't assume these these things. And I'm glad he got rid of his parents. They didn't love him or understand him, they just ignored him. He didn't belong with them. His uncle was the only one who cared. But I do agree that Jacob Kogan is a great actor.

  • @DemonoidPhenomenon1 It was not shown because the audience was supposed to wonder if it was an accidence or not, no, it was him who did that on purpose, he acted like his father did when his dog died, he is mimicin.

  • I HATE MYSTERIOUS ENDINGS

  • they should teach this movie in schools

  • @B1ggz13 YES. JUST. YES.

  • I love to see Sam's progression during the movie from being a caring & loving husband/father to a complete meltdown haha

i love when he's going all ballistic, beating the crap out of Joshua & his face expression is just priceless at 1:46, real badass XD

the mother was a complete nutcase and they both favoured Lily before Joshua, that was not professional at all coming from parents, so Joshua's psycho tendencies grew out of their careless way of not caring for Joshua, he only wanted some love..

  • @UniqueGeekFreak I agree completely! His parents were terrible. I recall a scene where Joshua told his parents that he loved them and they just stared at him. Um, I think the correct response is I love you, too. Terrible parents.

  • @inktween :)

totally agree, yeah that's what i remember too!& the sick thing is i really understand why he did those things, don't really think he was a psycho.& watching the videos of him when he was a baby made it even worse,he thought he was a reason to be hated & just demanding

It's like "Lord of the flies" when kids don't have any grown ups that care for them there are no rules & boundaries, they want to stretch the limits, even though it is something that's against our nature

    peace out :)

  • @inktween That might be true that his parents didn,t pay much attention to him but it didn.t justify Josh killing his grandmother and falsely accusing his father of child abuse and making his already depressed mother,s depression worse...

  • @inktween My parents never said they loved me. They don't. In fact, if I had died as a baby,. that would have made their life easier. Still, I never would have pulled this crap. You can't excuse his childhood, it's better than most. Still a goood movie, and yeah, the parents sucked, but they didn't disturbed the crap he pulled.

  • @inktween the reason why they just stared because it was really awkward and at the time, he was REALLY strange as a result of negligence

  • @inktween How can you defend Joshua? He killed his guinea pig, his grandmother, and wreaked havoc in the family. He manipulates others to get his father in jail. Just look at that evil smile around 2:17 after he plays like he is hurt at 2:02...he is def a sociopath

  • @UniqueGeekFreak you guys are ridiculous. he's a sociopath... they had a newborn, thats kind of demanding... And one doesnt have "psycho tendencies", either youre psychotic or youre not lol. claiming that not getting enough attention makes someone psychotic is completely ridiculous.

  • So his uncle was the culprit, he made the plans, btw did his uncle rape him ? Thats why he vimitted at the beginning. Anyway that little devil loved that uncle more than his parents. Damn

  • "I only ever really wanted to be with you"

    0__o ;

  • I also love how Ned encourages Joshua to compose something together, with Joshua having this song up his sleeve. :)

  • I love this movie.

  • what year was this move made it? just curious i saw it at my friends house once.

  • @Jackalope20051 It was made in 2007 :)

  • @piratesfan1 thanks =D

  • oh my god! this ending great!!!!

  • I GOT SO MAD HOW THIS MOVIE ENDS!! I WANT THERE TO BE A NUMBER 2!!

  • @puffball371 WHAT WHY? This movie had a perfect ending. What did you expect Josh to do? He just wanted to gett rid of his parents so he could live with his uncle.

  • Love this movie , shows how kids aren't all sane and inoccent

  • so creepy... wow

  • soo sad

  • @d3adly34 for the parents maybe
