  • Better results with more uniform wall thickness of product if you use a draw box to pre-form.

    This fellow nows what he is doing. Kombi tops would be good in 9mm capped abs

  • It IS thermoforming.... and its Vacuum. Usually heat the sheets up to anywhere between 600 and 700 degrees (give or take 100 degrees) depending on the material and its thickness.

  • I want to produce Kombi poptop roofs in thermoform plastic instead of the original fibreglass used. Does anyone have such expertise regarding such large structures? We are talking 2m x 1.2m and the shell is about 30cm deep. The overall production in a 5 year period would be 1000+.

  • if the acrylic about 2mm thickness how much the heat do we need?to get the detail form/shape?

  • @LTF85199 Yes, They Heat the sheets of plastic before they vacuum it. They usually heat them using heating coils and heat it just under the temperature where it becomes a liquid.
