Well let me tell you, Im to a point where I want Oil and want coal! Thats right, its worth it just to drive you damn liberal bananas, just to watch you cringe. The hell you put all of us through, makeing people feel guilty for using the god damn resources to make electricty. Well I hope they triple coal mines! I want to see coal dug and caves drilled deep into the mountains, I want to see walls of coal! and I want to see 15,000 more oil wells and 10 new King wells drilled in every state.

How we harvest the energy is quite the opposite, it's a hot topic. Does this mean we should destroy our planet and it's wildlife - No! We need to move forward with the way we get our energy. Investing in things such as solar energy is much better in the short and long term than investing in $300,000,000 oil rigs.

@lilduck99 We are 12 trillion in debt now, we can never pay that back. A bankruptcy might be coming to the US goverment. This is not the time to be dumping money into windmill research, which doesnt work. Its ok to use the planets resources if it IS DONE WISLEY. But to say "lets drop drilling, lets stop mining coal and lets not have nucular", leaves us damn little options. You try living without oil and coal, see how long you last.

What happens if they decide to cash them in? - the U.S economy crashes taking the rest of the world down with it. So postponing research until we are down the the last barrel of oil is the plan? I'm not saying, stop drilling cold turkey, I'm suggesting we start moving away from options that will cause more harm to our planet than good.........

A bit more investment into the technology could give us a break through making them affordable to everyday families. Stop labeling people. You need to learn to see past all these labels. @lilduck99 We still need oil even if we have hydrogen cars. What about the lubricant for the gearbox and pistons? Still need oil for that. Still need it to make...EVERYTHING YOU OWN..you plastics, computers, keyboards, tires, etc etc -oil makes almost everything we own!

@calimar28 The amount of oil need for lubricant wouldn't compare to the demands we have for oil now. The amount of oil used for vehicles or to create power isn't comparable to the oil we need to make several other products. If we make a break through with energy who says we couldn't expand how we use this new type of energy? We could use it to power up plants that make everyday products. You have to understand, creating new means of harvesting energy could and will start a chain reaction.

@lilduck99 Its not a different topic. Allowing illegals to pour in means the USA needs more oil, more gas...more energy because of the increase of people. In fact, allwoing LEGAL immigration like the USA does means 2 to 3 million new citizens a year, which leads to increased resource needs. One solution to our oil dependency might be to stop the illegals and actually reduce legal immigration to something reasonable...like 500,000 a year. What do you think of that?

Illegal aliens make up a small percentage of the users of oil in the United States when you look at the big picture. Either way, the solution that could fix both is better ways of getting energy and not relying on oil.

Here is what I think: I think from now on deep water drilling should be banned, and shallow water drilling should be allowed. If there is a leak in a shallow rig, it can easily be fixed. The eniromentalists pushed big oil into deep water, now look at the mess.

@MrTabby5000 Big Oil hasnt slowed it down from what I can see. Anyway, the main thing is to get those rigs into shallow waters, and on land. Enviromentalist wouldnt allow that, and pushed big oil into deep water to keep their rigs away from wildlife. Well, that just made it impossible to fix a problem. So I blame this on the enviromentalists.
