Well let me tell you, Im to a point where I want Oil and want coal! Thats right, its worth it just to drive you damn liberal bananas, just to watch you cringe. The hell you put all of us through, makeing people feel guilty for using the god damn resources to make electricty. Well I hope they triple coal mines! I want to see coal dug and caves drilled deep into the mountains, I want to see walls of coal! and I want to see 15,000 more oil wells and 10 new King wells drilled in every state.
@lilduck99 You sound like the typical liberal who listened to their college professer and joined the bandwagon. How sad that people dont think on their own. We need energy...thats a fact of life. It takes resources. There is no "free energy"...there is always a consequence. Try living without it. Ask Al Gore why he has 15 bathrooms in his house? He's a god damn hypocrite...all the limosene liberals are.
@calimar28 And...you sound like a typical college drop out who believes everything there google search says. We do need energy, no one is debating that. How we harvest the energy is quite the opposite, it's a hot topic. Does this mean we should destroy our planet and it's wildlife - No! We need to move forward with the way we get our energy. Investing in things such as solar energy is much better in the short and long term than investing in $300,000,000 oil rigs.
@lilduck99 We are 12 trillion in debt now, we can never pay that back. A bankruptcy might be coming to the US goverment. This is not the time to be dumping money into windmill research, which doesnt work. Its ok to use the planets resources if it IS DONE WISLEY. But to say "lets drop drilling, lets stop mining coal and lets not have nucular", leaves us damn little options. You try living without oil and coal, see how long you last.
@calimar28 We aren't going banruptcy. Countries will continue buying bonds from the United States. What happens if they decide to cash them in? - the U.S economy crashes taking the rest of the world down with it. So postponing research until we are down the the last barrel of oil is the plan? I'm not saying, stop drilling cold turkey, I'm suggesting we start moving away from options that will cause more harm to our planet than good.........
@calimar28 .....especially when we have already taken the first steps into developing electric and hydrogen cars. A bit more investment into the technology could give us a break through making them affordable to everyday families. Stop labeling people. You need to learn to see past all these labels. You are obviously uneducated as I find myself debating over points you state that have no real backing to them. I never said a thing about immigration, that is an entirely different topic.
@lilduck99 We still need oil even if we have hydrogen cars. What about the lubricant for the gearbox and pistons? Still need oil for that. Still need it to make...EVERYTHING YOU OWN..you plastics, computers, keyboards, tires, etc etc -oil makes almost everything we own!
@calimar28 The amount of oil need for lubricant wouldn't compare to the demands we have for oil now. The amount of oil used for vehicles or to create power isn't comparable to the oil we need to make several other products. If we make a break through with energy who says we couldn't expand how we use this new type of energy? We could use it to power up plants that make everyday products. You have to understand, creating new means of harvesting energy could and will start a chain reaction.
@lilduck99 And where are you on immigration? I find it fascinating how the liberals want open borders, increasing our 310 million populace by 3 million more a year, but at the same time you want a clean enviroment. All that population coming in is KILLING the enviroment and causing us to need oil/coal even more! But you hypnocrites dont mind as long as illegals are allowed in and granted amnisty. Makes no sense.
@calimar28 You seem to think everyone comes from the same molding cast. Because I support protecting the envirement, I now support opening up the border? - No, it's a silly assumption. Before you start calling anyone a hypocrite, learn what they stand behind and what they don't. Otherwise you look like a narrow-headed, ignorant, bigot.
@lilduck99 Its not a different topic. Allowing illegals to pour in means the USA needs more oil, more gas...more energy because of the increase of people. In fact, allwoing LEGAL immigration like the USA does means 2 to 3 million new citizens a year, which leads to increased resource needs. One solution to our oil dependency might be to stop the illegals and actually reduce legal immigration to something reasonable...like 500,000 a year. What do you think of that?
@calimar28 You aren't comparing apples with apples. Arguing that immigration and new ways of harvesting energy are similiar topics is a lost cause from the start. Illegal aliens make up a small percentage of the users of oil in the United States when you look at the big picture. Either way, the solution that could fix both is better ways of getting energy and not relying on oil.
@lilduck99 20 million people are a "small percentage"? Nevermind the anchor babies (500,000 a year)! Plus additonal 2 million legals a year, plus 3 million overstayed visas a year! Put it all together, and it equals 5.5 million a year + 20 million illegals...and thats eats up HUGE oil and resources! That is apples and apples.
@calimar28 20M of 350M is a small percentage. I'm not pro-open borders. You are one ignorant idiot. You are blatantly stupid. You can't understand anything. Go finish high school before engaging in any political conversations. All you do is label and assume. That will get you no where. How you jumped from harvesting energy to immigration is beyond me. Trying to make a point out of it is even sillier. This has carried on longer than it should have. We can agree to disagree.
@lilduck99 What a dummy if you think you can talk about energy, without talking about immigration. The two are hand in hand. And 20m plus 5m a year "not a lot"? How silly of you to say so! I noticed you say 'Im not for open boarders" and hten drop it, because you dont want to get into particulars. Your for amnisty, which is the same thing as pro open boarders. You cannot be for energy saving, plus increased immigration/amnisty at the same time...you just cant. Now, how do you like them apples?
@calimar28 Your being stupid all over again. I'm not pro open borders. This is why people like you never win arguments. You're stupid! You can't go around making assumptions then trying to bash them based on YOUR assumption. I'm not for increased immigration. Are we reading the same posts? Immigration and energy are irrelevant. I'm done posting. You are a troll, obvious troll.
@lilduck99 Be that as at may, you wont acknowledge that the broken borders problem adds to our fuel consumtion in a significant way, and for that, you get the dunce cap you ridiculous kid.
@calimar28 Oh please. You and your labels again. What's new.? $20.00 of $300.00 dollars is a decent size but not a significant amount in the big picture.
@lilduck99 It is significant, and will be even moreso if the borders are not locked down to stop the bleeding. I could break it down for you and show you how much energy it is costing us daily, but I dont have the time right now as it is dinnertime and I have to make my way to the Dairy Queen for a couple of cheezedogs.
@lilduck99 So you see, it will take years to come up with something to replace coal and oil...meantime our consumption is tremendous and you dont want to talk about that part because your pro-open borders! You can run lilduck99, but you cant hide!
@lilduck99 But you see, even though I bring up a logical point, you liberals always AVOID talking about immigration in conjunction with reducing the USA's energy consumption and going green. Why? Because my point makes PERFECT SENSE, and liberals dont want to reduce immigration or stop illegals, because that is more votes for the democrates (3rd world always votes liberal). So it is a conundrum for liberals.
@lilduck99 There is a nadful of enviromentalists that are for closing the borders and reducing immigration to really slow down the USA's energy consumption, and to slow population growth thus saving the land trees and air...but those enviromentalists speechs are always squletched by the democrat party who wants none of it to be heard. You cannot expect the USA to "go green" without doing something about immigration.
if you use oil - and we all do then stop condemning "big oil". Yes, they are responsible for these accidents - but they also make our way of living a possability. we need to keep trying to develop alternate fuel solutions.
@carbidegrd Why punish big oil? Do you think big oil wanted this disaster? Terrible accidents happen. We need to learn from it. Here is what I think: I think from now on deep water drilling should be banned, and shallow water drilling should be allowed. If there is a leak in a shallow rig, it can easily be fixed. The eniromentalists pushed big oil into deep water, now look at the mess.
@MrTabby5000 Big Oil hasnt slowed it down from what I can see. Anyway, the main thing is to get those rigs into shallow waters, and on land. Enviromentalist wouldnt allow that, and pushed big oil into deep water to keep their rigs away from wildlife. Well, that just made it impossible to fix a problem. So I blame this on the enviromentalists.
@calimar28 Blaming enviromentalist is the stupidist excuse I've heard. The problem isn't so much deep water drilling, it's BP taking short cuts which led to this disaster. Go educate yourself before you continue posting.
@lilduck99 A lot. In shallow water there is no real hydrostatic pressure nor is the freezing cold to form ice crystals, so the well would of been capped on day 3. Now look at the mess we have. Thanks enviromentalists for forcing them into the deep water. Now run along and drive your cars with windmills on top you looney freaks.
@lilduck99 You left-wing whako, nobody is eating grass. But you would like that Im sure. Since the 70's America has DECREASED emmissions by huge amounts from factories and cars. In fact, scientests are worried that the Ozone is not only back to normal...but could get TOO STRONG! That's right, bet you didnt know that! But then, what would you Al Gore freaks yell about?
