personally i think jenny was a good character to the show because everyone there seems to be almost flawlessly easy to understand. sometimes we have to create space for the absurd, which is jenny, because she reflects the point in life that is so complicated no one else but her understands. and that's what makes her what she is now.

Well said...about the whole Bette working all the time and the rest none at all...I think the reason why they show Bette at work so many times is to prove that she is a workaholic...and that she hides from reality by burying herself in her work.
